Disconnects occurring only duirng PVP

Recently multiple players (including myself) have disconnected at random points during Shatter matches. Just minutes ago, 8-10 people across our parties DCed all around the same time in a match. We logged back in just to die from being isolated.

I've been noticing this happening over the last 3-4 days in multiple matches. None of the affected people I talked to have problems with DCs outside pvp. Anyone have insight into this?

This has happened to me too while playing Shatter. Up to 4 times i've been disconected from the instance with errors 90001 and 90002 in the past 3 days. Other times i've played with no problems.

Happened to me every single shatter match tonight. I DC'd 4 times and the game outright crashed 2 times and the lag was ridiculous. Same thing happened for the teams I was on as well so it wasn't just me. We literally just had everyone Dc again....

Just happened again. 4 of us DCed when we were tied with Adder at 800+ points. Obviously that gifted them the match. Every single time it is about 2/3 of the way into the match and only if we're in a position to win. I can't see tell if the other GCs are also having disconnects. Being overly paranoid would suggest cheating but at this point I just want to know why this only happens in shatter.

Sudden DC in PVP is actually quite common and has been for a while. Idk if their PVP servers are inferior quality to their PVE ones or what but this has been an annoyance since frontline's introduction.

Well, today in the morning I played Shatter. No disconnection. No problem. When it's 6:00pm to 11:30pm Easten time, Faerie server, 3 Shatter games, constant 90001, 90002 and 10105. I also noticed that at this time there's constant lag with 30 second delay even out of PVP instances. I've restarted my router, tested the connection with other sites and no problems. When testing FFXIV and this problem continues. I'm no tech expert but if there is a relation between the two it needs to be addressed.

I haven't had a problem myself, but I have seen more DC's in Feast than I remember seeing in the past. In the last two days I've seen two DC's on my team and one on the enemy team, so it does seem more frequent than normal. I don't know if this is an actual problem or just a coincidence, though.

Regardless, if any of you are seeing this enough to think that it is a legitimate problem, then you should probably head over to the tech support forums and post the details. They have a sticky which will tell you the guidelines for how to format your report, and other players can reply as a means of adding additional reports. If SE suspects that there is, in fact, a problem, then they'll move the thread to the being addressed/currently reviewing forum and you'll at least know if they're looking into it or doing something about it.

I was in a shatter match yesterday where 4 people in my party (including myself) dc'd. It's pretty bad and does seem isolated to PvP.

I've had random crashes, dc and lag like crazy after shatter was introduced. iirc it only happens in shatter. No other pve or pvp content, except for some random crashes while I'm returning from prolonged afk.

Today the lag was really bad. Resetting the game helped, but the lag returned every time.

Was this ever sorted and fixed? I've even tried re-installing my game and I STILL get booted for seemingly no reason. People have told me to avoid using mounts, avoid using certain mounts, staying out of 'the big crowd' and defending instead. It seems to only happen in frontlines, all 3 frontlines. I've never had this issue in Feast.

Should I buy a pay as I go vpn? Does anyone know if a vpn would solve this? I have NO issues with ANY other zones in this game, JUST frontlines. My load screens are fast so if not for expac launch and a 40-60 queue each time I log on, I would get back in alright but this queue is getting me auto booted.

Edit: pay as i go vpn seemed to have totally fixed the issue, mudfish is good and cheap.

Ok so, here's the thing. If your friends advise to fix disconnects is to just defend, then you shouldn't be playing.
That is the common knowledge these days for anyone telling people to defend is viewed as a complete PVP noobie that should not be listened to. It's not something that should ever be done.

The other thing regarding disconnects, its not something reinstalling is going to fix. It's 100% netcode based vs SEs anti bot teleport code.
In PVP a long time ago people used to bot, they used to teleport, it was a problem, and SE implemented measures to counter it.

The problem, those countermeasures kick YOU even if your character "appears" to teleport on the server when you are not, even just a few feet, and even just a few inches. That is why you get kicked from PVP, because your router is not handling packets fast enough for it to not show up to other people as you skipping around latency wise. (You know, those people you sometimes see in the match that in one spot, then just appear in another, and happens in any online game, ya they get booted in 14's pvp even tho their character will sit there idle for a bit)

In short, if "you" see entire groups of enemies standing still then play "catch up" seconds later, you're the one lagging and are going to get booted. But honestly if it's bad enough to where "you" can see everyone stop/starting thats REALLY bad, for 14's pvp you typically won't see that and still get booted for lag you dont see happening.

Their counter measure is too strict, its also something they probably wont change because they don't care, which is irritating, I know.

In short, unless you have a 400$ Nighthawk router, a clean signal, AND perfect DcB going into your modem from the street (You can't see this, unless you specifically know how) You're going to get DC'd in pvp. Some Gaming VPNs can help with it, but it's going to keep you right at the borderline of getting booted, not a place you wanna be.

This is why when SE servers are overloaded you get kicked still only in PVP, because during overload even though it's "their" servers not keeping up, the other netcode they have is saying it saw you move 5 feet in a milisecond instead of 3 feet like you were supposed to, so it kicks you, and most likely half the entire dang alliance.

Ah once again people who run bots ruin everything for everyone else. It just blows my mind because I could do Ozma, easily, without one lick of lag in a full group with all the spell effects on and everything. I should be glad I don't get DC'd in the feast but why even bother in Crystal feast when it's all just Aether alts anyways lol. I'd rather just do my frontline roulette every day and call it done, but the DCs are such an issue. I dc'd ONCE with the vpn, instead of the 3-4 times I would have normally. I'll call that a win but it's still not IDEAL because I have to PAY to make the game functional? I guess I should just be glad I don't have to have a vpn on 24-7 just to play the game. Thanks for the information, just sucks that it's truly out of my control.

Like UnrealTai said, its a netcode issue - exists already since way back (in ARR), usually happens only on frontline maps. Don't bother about it, everyone gets it, sometimes almost 3 groups get kicked at once.
Could have become worse because there are more positional gapcloser/backflip skills since 5.0 than ever - they usually behave bad and make you dc slightly more often.
There are free VPN available that usually fix issues like lagspikes and freezes enough to be playable for a MMO. They sometimes have tunneling/routing issues on the provider side.
Try protonvpn or google. If you don't have noticeable lags/freezes in game, I wouldn't bother, it's still netcode issue on their end.
