What happened to the new Grand Company items/gear in 3.3?

sighs, ive been hopeing for soo long they would unlock some more ranks for the grand companys and add some new gear, for glamour of course, this is just disapointing.

The post you're replying to is also talking about the new GC gear, pointing out that there's different ways of reading the sentence from the live letter

There are new GC items, specifically the new Althyk lavender seeds and the Voidrake seeds.

But none of the gear they mentioned or a new rank. Maybe 3.35? Semi-related, I really like the immortal flames coat in the concept art, me wantie.

Ah. Weird how Yoshida showed off the gear pictures before 3.3, but it sounds like it'll come in 3.4 then.

Not really. They show off concept art for gear that doesn't come until way later all the time. For example, they showed off "AF2" Esoteric gear long before Heavensward was even announced. This is par for the course for SE and something they've been doing since Live Letters were a thing.

Odd that it was planned for 3.3, given we're meant to get new ranks in 3.4? I figured it only made sense to add this gear alongside the new ranks, though I guess you added the last set of new gear through Hunts, rather than GC ranks...

While I appreciate the response from a community rep, can I ask for one simple thing? If things don't end up being put in a patch, can it at least say so in the patch notes? I understand sometimes things change, and they aren't ready in time, but it would be nice if we would get a warning when this happens from now on. A postponed features section when appropriate, would be very helpful! I was confused when I went to the GC and it wasn't there.

That makes no sense. If it isn't in the patch notes, then it isn't in the patch, simple as that. No need to add a section saying ' here is what we wanted to add today, but couldn't due to reasons'. You can bet you behind that people will complain more about that than knowing nothing.

will this also include the new rank and the customizable team?

If they promise something, and its not released when they say it is, its perfectly reasonable to have a warning. We shouldn't have to scramble around for reasons on why it isn't there.

The GC gear was the 1st thing I went to look for when 3.3 was up only to be disappointed. Only good thing is we Maelstrom keep looking spiffier & spiffier! Damn we are some sexy bytches! Keep it up with the cool Maelstrom gear!

Because we need to hold SE accountable.

They have talked about and mentioned so so so many things over the years they were going to implement and then just never did because reasons and never mentioned it again. If we don't push we don't get answers, and even when we push we don't get answers sometimes, but we need to push nonetheless. I take the live letters worth a grain of salt by now because you never know what's real and what's not going to happen. If they would at least say "sorry we tried, but x and y wouldn't work" it wouldn't be so bad. But nope, they just act like they never said it.

I just want the team. never mind the twin adder duds.

Does that mean new GC ranks which will have the new gear in 3.4 or no plans to add new GC ranks in 3.4 and the gear instead being added to pre-existing ranks? The new ranks have been put off for so long I was just curious if will get that in 3.4 too alongside the new gear.

They never said we weren't and Lux only said the gear was being released in the next patch. Remember that SE quite often tells us and shows us what new gear is out but doesn't tell us where or how to get it. As a result, I expect the new gear to be tied behind the next GC rank we're getting which (if I remember correctly) is just First Lieutenant.

Are we getting new GC ranks, and GC platoons?

I"m just getting tired being STUCK on second lieutenant, I want to be a captain OR A MARSHAL or something, if we go like 2 more expacs of no new GC ranks, might as well remove the other ranks that we will never obtain.
