After BLM and Dragoon what is the easiest class to play ?

I wanna made a second new class. I don't wanna to be a BLM because I don't like it. It's too similar with the Mage from WoW that I doesn't liked too. I don't like BLM gears too.

I will continue with Dragoon as main, I just need another class to be my secondary one.
I don't have many time to play because I play other games.

And what class have a easiest rotation after dragoon and BLM ?

If you're looking for something with 'easy rotation', try BRD. There really isn't even a rotation there... mostly after your opener it's popping your abilities when they become available and maintaining your DoTs.

Are we talking about level 60 here or 50 because your statement otherwise is ambiguous (and furthermore dubious)?

Bard reminds me a lot drg with all the oGCDs to weave in, though I'm not a particular fan of WM yet. It's not bad but it drastically changes the way you play prior to obtaining it.

As for melee, I like monk nearly as much as drg, the rotation is pretty simple (and it's basically the same as it is at lv50, no drastic changes like brd or drg).

NINJA is pretty easy imo

Playing machinist made me realize how much I hate bard now. And while I still prefer bard to machinist, wayyyyy too much stuff has a cast time for bard. If you're a fan of cast times, I think you're better off with BLM because at least you'll feel like your instant procs are hitting hard. Otherwise, steer clear of ranged classes for now.

If you want simple, I might suggest paladin or warrior. There is a lot more responsibility in playing a tank class, but a monkey could be trained to hold enmity while dealing damage. Paladin has no variety in its rotation until 54, and even then it's pretty straight forward. Warrior gives you the choice of damage vs buff/debuff, but once you get used to keeping your 20% damage buff up, its a piece of cake.

Easiest to play? BARD. Even easier? BARD...without wanderer's minuet, and never play songs for your party. I'm sure this suits you nicely.

Um... huh? Wanderers Minuet and Gauss Barrel both add the same cast times to very much the same amount of skills on BRD and MCH respectively. BRD and MCH at this point are on a very base level the same Job which a few 'bells and whistles' abilities that distinguish them from one another (Songs for BRDs, turrets for MCH, Emp Arrow for BRD, Wildfire for MCH).

the ammo system makes GB works with MCH a lot more fluid than how WM works with BRD.

Ninja is not as hard as Monk but it's not that easy unless you just want to do the bare minimum and don't care too much about your job.

Well, I really don't have the numbers to show it, but playing either or to me feels pretty much the same when it comes down to skill times. While the ammo system does allow you to get guaranteed procs on your shots so they have no cast time, it's generally as available as Internal Release which will give you a boost to your Crit chance on your BRD DoTs giving you frequent chances for Bloodletter/RoD procs. The ammo system is more fluid in the way it delivers those cast-less chances, but I don't think it's any greater over-all than BRD's since you also do get the Straight Shot procs as well which remove the cast times for it. I suppose it's just a matter of personal perception and preference, really.

Firstly, I found this entire thread pretty hilarious. Long story short, every job is easy if you don't want to do well. Every job is complex if you want to perform well. This is especially true at level 60.

Second, I found that the BLM in this game is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much less interesting than the Mage in WoW. I really want them to add a Mage-like class to this game, but instead we have BLM and SMN. I mean they are fun, but I am really missing me some Mage.

As for DRG, I don't have one at 60, but I was under the impression they have one of the most complex rotations in the game atm.

It is the most complex rotation, but it's artificial complexity... because you have to maintain BotD while dealing with the Rear/Flank random procs for your skills and knowing when it's good to use Geirskogul and when it's not. It's not like your rotation is mechanically complex, it's situationally complex.

quick reload.... u can stack charges , and weave even more while u are using them.... MCH is waaaaaaay more mobile and with less casting than BRD.

heave movement phase? u can deal with that as MCH , BRD has no options other than turning off WM losing 30% dmg, outside Straight shot! procs , Sidewinder (1 min CD) ....bard cast everything , not counting BL because is OGCD skill...we even have to cast for 3s if we want to provide songs.:rolleyes:

Anyway i think once u master the rotations every job is easy .... whats hard is doing the rotation while dealing with mechanics.

Monk is extremely easy to pick up because unlike some other classes, it doesn't have any drastic gameplay changes from 50-60, providing a nice learning curve. Downtime is the biggest enemy of DPS, and HW gave monk skills and adjustments that help deal with downtime.

SMN is easy to do passable DPS, but maximizing it is rather difficult and nuanced. BLM is probably one of the most unforgiving jobs in the game, and 1-59 don't do much to help you prepare for Fire IV. DRG takes a bit of effort in getting 3 Geirskoguls per minute and 2 Geirskoguls per Blood for Blood, not to mention the double weaving.

Dragoon is easy? Since when?

Bard has always been the only dps that I consider 'easy', and even they got more difficult with the release of HW.

The cast time for songs is a pain, yes, I will give it that. Now, if you're only counting dealing with mechanics of certain fights then certainly MCH will have an edge on the cast times there, but then as BRD you're not supposed to be using WM when you're moving and while you lose 30% damage you make up for a portion of it by being able to attack faster (I know it's not a 1:1 recovery, but it's still not a total loss). WM was always meant to be played as a 'when you have the chance' mode. Now if you put BRD and MCH on dummies with no mechanics, it's harder to say which one will do better flat out... personally I've never made the comparison with equivalent gear, which is why I said I don't have the numbers, but to me they feel about even on most standard fights.

But yes, once again, any class you play to start off won't play well and mechanics will muddy the waters even more.

Play Miner, doesnt get any easier

BLM is only easy pre-Enochian/pre-60. Once you get your lvl 60 rotation figured out, you get to play a little game called "Beat the Enochian Clock" and another one of my favorites, "Don't Lose Enochian While Dodging Mechanics"... fun times.

It's not anywhere close to the hardest at 60, by 50 most players will be in the "zone" mentally when doing rotations and weaving and fire iv bliz, the only time it becomes "hard" and it's due to the nature of both blm and brd now, is that moving and timing your moves between dodging and mechs CAN cut down on your dps, outside of this factor blm is hands down one of the easiest jobs to play with rotation.

Any range job that has to move will face this issue.

Nin is perhaps the easiest imo.

I thought this thread title was a joke, lol, the amount of QQing and people running to SMN after BLM was updated says otherwise for "easy" In fact, there you go, smn is probably the easiest job to play IMO, but unless you actually played BLM, you would understand it's no where near easy.

There will always be the try hard people who will say "lulz, none of the jobs are hard rofl" but they most likely don't do anything outside of Dailies.

I don't know where the whole "monk is harder than most classes" idea came from. The way the job works makes it so it's actually hard to press the wrong buttons because many of your main moves can only be executed in the proper stance. (e.g. Twin Snakes, True Strike, Snap Punch, Demolish...etc.)

Black Mage is not easy if you're trying to be an awesome Black Mage and keep Enochian up at all times. Black Mage is only easy if you want to be sub-par at your job.

Unless this is an alt, you don't even have BLM unlocked. The only mage job you've been playing is conjurer, which turns into white mage. If you want to play a healer, it's a good way to go. WHM isn't overly complex and puts out great burst heals.

Scholar and Summoner FTW.

Monk is positional heavy with an easy-to-maintain rotation that adapts well to all situations
Dragoon rotation, in the 2.x era, was complex but in return had not stacks to manage. With 3.x, they added stack management but simplified the rotation. So it's a bit more like Monk now.
Ninja's complexity comes from Mudra's. Their skills branch off from a single combo, making them the 'simplest' in this regard with the lowest positionals (Armor/Aeolian, and Sneak/Trick depending on situations)
Bard's all about oGCD management
Mechanist is all about Ammo management.
BlackMage is Enochain and minimalizing movement.
Summoner is managing stacks for Trance and DoT's, thus why they only have to maange 3 DoT's.

I get the impression you're not particularly interested in going top tier dps on anything in particular, so easiest rotation is probably paladin

I know it's already been addressed but really OP? BLM and DRG are easy? I see very few good DPS that parse appropriate numbers for these classes based on their gear ( in casual content, I do not raid ).

No DPS class is easy. It's only easy if you don't give a good gosh darn about actually being good.

Pick a class you like and learn to play it properly instead of worrying about what is easiest? Unless of course you're just asking for opinions? My opinion? Summoner, but that's because I play it, I practice it, and I continually run duties with it. Any class will become second nature if you practice enough. Anyone can say the same thing about their main DPS class.

by rotation it is most simple, and tanks have fast queue, in long run, a tank job helps daily roulette a lot.

Shadow flare makes 4. If you use garuda, then 50% of the time (that is, a duration of 30 seconds per minute) then miasma II makes 5. Assuming we are talking strictly single target (which amazingly, zero bosses will fit the description here in AS) then you will on average be managing 4.5 DoTs (that is 4-5 depending on your pet) as well as your oGCD (which includes your aetherial trace moves and pet moves and pet related moves). It's also the only class in which you can have your teammates lower your dps by killing your pets (intentionally or not). Changes obviously in AoE, but so does every class.

But assuming you're an Ifrit user (I mostly use Ifrit in raids) you were indeed missing shadow flare. I wouldn't count dps cooldowns or 2-3 minute cooldown moves as complexity for any class though, since:
1. Every DPS class has them, so "complexity" is equally distributed
2. They are used infrequently (obviously) and are not part of the "core" rotation

All moves outside of this should be counted at part of a classes core rotation. You're also wrong about Ninja. They have exactly the same number of positionals as dragoon:
Ninja: Aeolian Edge, Armor Crush, Sneak Attack, Trick Attack; totaling with 2 rear, 1 flank, 1 front
Dragoon: Heavy Trust, Chaos Thrust, Fang and Claw, Wheeling Thrust

You can't complain about Sneak Attack and Trick attack being mirror moves because Fang and claw and Wheeling Thrust are mirror moves (in fact in discussions, they are literally treated as one move called 4th tier) so even removing both they are even with 3 each. That said, that makes dragoon's only distinguishing factor from ninja the Geirskogul, which (to no surprise) is an easier version of Mudra (3 Geirskogul/minute to 3.5 mudra [you get an extra every 2 minutes] / minute).

In fact, aside from all the stuff that comes with Mudra (i.e. all the moves and bonuses) Dragoon is basically the same class (but easier) as Ninja, both even having a raid usable resistance debuff and 2 DoTs. Replace heavy thrust (15% boost) with Huton (~15% boost) and you have the same core class, one that compensates lower attack frequency with higher attack potency.
