1. Stop continuing to punish us for devoting time to this game and have it as a hobby. Examples, relic quests and certain gears. Letting people have the same stuff as others for half the effort isnt fair to anyone.

2. 3.0 is a reskin of 2.0. ARR has been out for 2 years wich means you had 2 years to present something to the table that would make stuff interesting but we are still stuck in the DF envoirment.

3. Bigger maps and flying maps where amazing but not when the only thing we can do on big maps after quests is fate grinding hunts or gather and they are mega empty.

4. Gears with more job specific stats wouldnt be a bad idea. -10% damage taken or 10% damage dealt etc.

5. Whats the real reason for everything beeing so easy? Who is it going to satisfy? Presenting savage isnt doing the hardcore gamers a favour its devaluing the players overall when it comes to everything else from regular mobs dungeons etc.

Hey now. I'm a Z and completed related content every time a new stage was released, before nerfs were implemented. Those items are half their values now (or less) compared to when I first got them so I totally do not mind that people need "half the effort" to get them.

South Gustaberg is empty. Moghome is far from empty, at least not during time people actually play this game. Hey Peeps! I have been to this meeting and let me say this! Either I went to the wrong place or it was the right one but no one else was there. Strippers were nice though.

Dear OP, the Actual Players have spoken and thing you need return to WoW where you'll have your four different teir sets, so you know.... no one can get up to your level of gear the entire expansions and you can feel so good being 1 of the 10% again always getting their way instead you know... the majority.

A quick Lodestone search tells me that you haven't cleared Final Coil, Bismark Ex, Ravana Ex or even Alexander Normal (let alone Savage).

It's not Yoshi-P's fault you haven't tried the challenge your self...

Sorry OP, looks like your tone rubbed some folks the wrong way. I agree with some of your points, disagree with others, but there's so much self importance in this thread, I'm not sure an actual discussion can take place. Anyways, here goes.

As a zeta holder, I'm quite alright with catch up mechanics. If a player wants to take the time from their leveling or endgame routine to bang out a relic in 3.0, I say good for them.

I do feel that 2.0 progressed into 3.0 very "safely," no risks were taken and every convention in place before the expansion is still here, in almost the exact same format as before. I don't feel that our content is in danger of stagnating, however, as it will continue to be added onto with the coming patches. I'm quite bored with the endgame in 3.0, but that's more to do with point 3 on your list.

I very much agree that, at level 60, there is little to enjoy in the open world. Hunts offer now outdated rewards that can be obtained through other methods (that's if you even like doing Hunts, I abhor them,) treasure maps, and perhaps a couple other items I'm missing. There's no level 60 glamour I can grind towards, daily quests like beastmen tribes have yet to be implemented. Once I finish my DF roulette, I don't feel any urge to trek into Ishgard, because I know that nothing waits for me out there.

More unique gear options, I can get behind. Not only is our gear progression incredibly linear, taking the time to optimize one piece of gear over another means the difference of a few points, and unless you're pushing in progression raiding, those points mean precious little. Your character still functions exactly the same as before.

As far as ease of content, I haven't tried AS yet. It looks pretty intense, and that's awesome. Once I get a group for it, I'm sure it will be plenty of fun and plenty challenging to get through. Nothing else in the game will offer that challenge, and of course, that's the intention of a raid. Most other content, rather than being easy, feels appropriately challenging, but easy to trivialize with overgearing. Again, that's the fault of nothing else but vertical progression. Previous content become easier as more players clear it for the first time and move on to the next. If you wanted to retain that challenge, you'd need a tight ilevel sync for a lot of content, and many players would be adverse to that, as they like to see their character's progression relative to the content they're facing. Such a sync does exist, but only for non-HW content unfortunately.

Right now there are only like 2 maybe 3 fights that are challenging but able to be beaten in a pick up group (random group). The 2 ex primals and maybe a4. Everything else is either faceroll or so hard even statics can't beat it in the current gear. It's not fair for a section of the communtity to say every piece of content in the game should be so easy you can beat it first try, because we sub.

This game is in desperate need of content that is challenging but able to be beaten in a pickup group. If you think you can give players 4 fights that can't be pugged and say "There's your challenge buddy" Prepare to see 44% of ffxiv's playerbase leave as well.

EDIT: The 44% was a reference to WoW's recent subscriber loss. Sorry I shoulda clarified lol :P

Where does this number 44% come from? We will be getting more content in 3.1 for middle of the line players like the EX primals which seem to be a good difficulty for what you are talking about. I mean even middle of the line players are not the majority most likely (close but unless we have real numbers which is hard with such an objective term) so you get three instances, hardcore players get 4 instances, and casual (probably the largest group) get 5 instances. With gear you will also see some people start to more casually go through savage, in 1-3 weeks you could even possibly see A1S be Puged (but lets face it NA servers give up after 3 wipes so in no way will it be easy to get a group like Rav and Bish EX still are hard to find good pug groups).

Not sure if you are all aware of how hard it is to please the hardcore crowd, especially when you have to balance it with casual content. Hardcore players will always tackle the content fast no matter how much is thrown at you and complain and say there is nothing to do till next content patch. This is something in every MMO and there is no real solution to it. You can add a lot of grinding elements to hardcore content, but people will then complain about that.

I agree with the points because your right and I know numerous other people who agree as well, but the only thing you failed on was putting just players. Not everyone shares that opinion. Also it's hard to say if FFXIV is doing fine or not because they have never released sub numbers only accounts. Some people even regret getting Heavensward because it didn't bring all that much into the game. That's just my opinion anyway. Almost everything in this game is easy except for Savage everything else has no challenge.

Again im saying use influences from FFXI that where good afterall it was FFXI that was SE MMORPG flagship not WoW.
Why should you get a freepass and handout for the relics for example? Its a pure disrepect to everyone that devoted countless of hours and million of gils on their weapon for it to completly get useless with one expansion it shouldnt be like that at all. Even during the abyssea days of FFXI your Excalibur or other relics etc where still working. This is one of many examples but this one is the easiest one to show in detail. I wont reply anymore to this because I have seen how MANY players agree with what Ive said in my first message in other threads. I like FFXIV I don't want to leave but at the same time I don't want to get punished for devoting time and see how others get praised and can catch up for playing less. Find a balance instead of catering to one side only.

While I see the game could use some improvements, I am personally enjoying the game and am willing to continue paying for it for the entertainment it gives me. That is all.

What you consider good influences does not always align with what other people consider good.

Your complaint about relics being made easier is entirely selfish. There were a lot of things that I did in FFXIV already that consumed a lot of my time (Zeta, FC Housing, Personal Housing, primal mounts), yet I have no problem with SE making these things easier. Hell, I wish they had been easier when I did them.

As for your punishment argument, that can be used both ways. Why should new players be punished by time-consuming mechanics to complete outdated content just because older players managed to stomach through them? By that reasoning bad stuff can never be fixed because some player already completed it.

3) Bigger maps were asked for by the community and so that is what we were given, yet now we get people complaining about it. Honestly not surprised. Besides, ignoring the size of them, how is what you can do in them any different from previous zones? You can do all the same stuff in them as before plus fly. On top of that they added more special fates where you follow a short FATE chain and can get special loot drops like glamour earrings. Then there are all the sightseeing locations which they redid to make them easier so all you have to do is find the glowing point and emote /lookout on them. Personally I find there is a lot of stuff to do in the zones, you just have to go and do it. Lastly, if you create a larger space people will tend to be more spread out and therefore the space will seem more empty.

4). I could see class/job specific gear having stuff like that or special job specific materia with such boosts and I think it could be cool, but it is not a deal breaker to me.

5) Difficulty is relative and unfortunately when creating something intended to have mass appeal you often have to tune for the lowest common denominator, therefore in a game such as this making things "easy". Honestly I wouldn't mind if there was more mid to upper-mid range content but only so much content can be made and pushed out, so they make what they can and cater it to the more casual players that make up the majority of the player base or a few things for the more hardcore players. There used to be slightly harder content and guess what happened, it got nerfed because players complained it was " too hard" and that only hardcores could beat it. Also, if you want a challenge, make one. Go back and solo old dungeons or try undersized party clearing things, etc. There is challenge out there, just go do it.


So, don't just declare your opinions as discernible fact that everyone agrees with because as you can see, many people don't. Could the game do some things better and improve? Of course, that's true of pretty much anything, but it does do a lot of things right or at least well too.

I think a lot of people felt their 2.0 achievements were invalidated in 3.0. The relic quest was severly nerfed, pvp gear no longer required rank to wear, Coil and Savage Coil can be beaten at lvl 60 now. Lucis tools were replaced by lvl 52 vendor gear, ect.

I'm kind of on the fence with it. I can see why people would be upset, but I'm not personally that upset that my zeta and my Final Witness title don't mean shit anymore. But I don't think it is selfish for people that spent a lot of time achieving something would like the challenge to remain the same.
