I'm sorry, I really like my MCH. I do feel like a burden in a dungeon or boss, like the DPS spot got wasted. I had a Tank out damage me last night I think. God forbid we get two of either BRD or MCH in a light party. Things go really slow. I figure the class is all about setting up the perfect critical shot but even when I hit that huge whopper number, I see someone else hit the same thing as a regular number. It's just depressing.
I don't plan on quiting it cause its really fun imo. I apologize to anyone who had to put up with me in a dungeon/boss. =/

Yeah MCH is in a really bad place right now. I feel really bad too because I love the class aesthetic, but I feel like I'm dragging everyone in my party down by being a MCH, because no matter how well I line myself up and do my job right I'll be behind the off-tank of all things. Even worse, my FC got me the inferno horn I wanted to craft that inferno musketoon today, and I made it and all, but as cool as a gun that is also on fire is, I can't very well justify using it until they make MCH at least a viable class- I'm not saying I want to put out MNK level DPS, just not be a wasted slot.
No reason not to come back to it later, though! -

I haven't gotten to endgame with my MCH quite yet, but it's weird >.>...I had to lower my attacks because I kept pulling hate from the tank in dungeons with my MCH...

I feel like all of the new jobs are a bit undertuned. Machinist more than the others. Which is why i've decided to hold off on trying it.
In my current case: My AST just doesn't feel as wonderful as my SCH. -

Don't worry about it, 5-10 minutes added to a dungeon is really no problem. If you're good at your job, it's already going to be faster than usual since a few of the DPS I encounter are... sub par to say the least.

I brought this up in another thread, but I had a Vault run a couple days ago with a MNK and DRG... who took so long to kill the second boss that there were twelve rifts spawned by the end of the fight, and that was with me as WHM squeezing out all the extra DPS I could to prop them up.
I will take a MCH who actually tries over any other class not trying any day, because they're still going to outperform them. And if they're doing their best and still getting beaten by everyone else, then bloody fantastic, we're kicking ass in whatever content we're in, no question. -

I don't mind MCH and BRD at all. My raid static currently has 2 BRD in it (might be doing some shuffling, but for now it is what it is) and we had zero problems with the Bismarck EX dps check. When I see a MCH or BRD in a dungeon, I shrug and hope the same thing that I do for any other class: that they aren't complete assholes and that they know how to play the job at a reasonable level of skill. Don't feel selfish for playing the class that you think is fun. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. If it isn't, what's the point of playing?

Runs take longer with a MCH not because their overall damage is that terrible, but rather because of RNG making trash mobs slower when we hit hat inevitable drought of SS and CS procs.
On bosses, our damage is fine for the most part because the fight draws out long enough for procs to make a difference.
Improve the proc chances without ammo loaded and we're fine. -

Reloading boosts our potencies while removing the RNG, the potency boost alone is reason to use it every time. Boosting the RNG wont change our DPS much in the long run, but will absolutely help for add phases and the like.Quote:

Anyone happen to have numbers for how all the jobs perform at 60 yet? I used to be able to test all this stuff out on my own, but I haven't even had time to level one job to 60 yet. I'm curious if all this outrage is justified or if people are upset that pure DD classes are beating support classes. I'm also curious if 4 bards/machinists can clear end game content which would make all this moot.

Leveling a Machinist and I dislike how my combo attack is gated behind a wall of RNG. Yes there are skills to trigger them, but they are behind a 30 sec and 60 sec CD and to play as a dps where you can not rely on stable dps, this shows to me that something is very wrong with this class. Going to level my Machinist to 50 to experience the class story, then I will bench it, untill SE takes another look at it.
A easy fix would be to remove the procs off the combo skills and make them work like Monk/Paladin/Warrior/Dragoon/Ninja combo system. Change reload from increasing proc to giving the combo skills more dps/crit etc. -

The thing that boggles me is that they had to test MCN with other classes before they gave it the okay in it's current form, right? (I hope that's right, anyway). So did the devs do something current MCN's can't figure out? Or were they really okay with MCN not stacking up damage like other DPS? Maybe they highly underestimated how much RNG can block a person? -

I felt bad because one MCH said that it's not even that good, and the turret felt like a perm dot.
I'd com'd her because she tried her best and I try to help her gain damage by Balance boosts.
Poor things. I feel bad for those who enjoy this class got sh!tted on. -
