So what do you think about the idea that Machinist is getting a Ammo System?
As of now it seem interesting since it focus on managing the ammo you have with the Reload skill giving you 5 Ammos to use.
Guns skills for Machinist even work better if you have Ammo loaded such as the example they gave with
Skill A (without ammo) has 50% chance to have a 2nd shot and another 50% chance for a 3rd Shot.
Skill A (with Ammo) has a 100% chance to fire 3 shots.
There is also Quick Reload skill that instantly gives 1 ammo but that is just a emergency skill.

I like it.... I love all how technical and different the jobs are getting. Only two of them got new stances. And the rest of something unique about them. I'm curious to see what other buff/debuff abilities machinist has to contrast to bard. I feel only the bard and machinist kind of playing similar...but we have yet to see more of machinist. I like how the solved the bard dps problem with the new song. And if you don't care about high dps, you can move all you want.

i heard them talking about bonus dmg for the next shot like the 1st shot goes off there a chance for the 2nd shot to proc off 1st then 3rd shot procing dmg off the first two i wonder if you can stack the dmg all the to the 6th shot( the fast reload) then charge it for Hugh dmg.

Lars is impressive, no doubt, but there have been some well reasoned responses to his historical interpretation and the methods that he used to come to this discovery. Not saying he is wrong, but being impressive doesn't make him the end all be all on archery. -

Whilst all of his stunts are real as far as anyone has been able to tell none of them are practical. Most of them took him dozens of attempts (anything more than one in a real combat situation would mean a dead archer) and many of them saw him using special props, such as a slow-moving, chunkier bamboo arrow when he shot one out of the air. His rapid-fire shots are all done at close range as well... firing at that speed would severely limit accuracy and arrow flight speed (making the weapon far less dangerous).
What he does in that video is both impressive and highly skilled but it has absolutely nothing at all to do with real combat archery. Most of the historical 'facts' he mentions are completely made up as well, he just counts on no one actually bothering to do any research into the actual history of archery to discredit him. -

Ya the real archers were not acrobatic as certain people would make them out to be. They functioned more as the backline units and focused more on positioning and aiming. Close combat was their main weakness which is way a basic sword or other type of light weapons were used for their melee combat instead.Quote:

I feel like there really wasn't enough solid info given to really say anything about it. They said that your concerns would be similar to Bard (pseudo support) but different specific things you'd be worried about.
So there's "Ammunition" stacks, which you get 5 of for using Reload. Are you required to have them to use any/certain weaponskills? How frequently can we use the Reload and Quick Reload, which gives 1 stack instead? Vague mention of some unspecified bonus for reloading while you still have Ammunition stacks that have not been used. Said that you would want to use downtime in fights to reload.
Something mentioned about some stacking proc buff but it was incredibly vague. Using "Shot 1", then "Shot 2", then "Shot 3" gives increasing % chance of this proc but no mention if those are specific weaponskills, weaponskills from a particular group or just any gun-based weaponskills. No mention of what this proc buff does or what it affects.
Turrets were mentioned in passing and all we really saw was one deployed and auto-attacking an enemy. Supposedly grant some kind of buff/debuff around them but nothing mentioned or shown in regards to that.
Bombs were mentioned as weaponskills, one was shown in the video. No mention if there are any mechanics that affect them.
The previously mentioned attachments saw absolutely no mention in the Live Letter and previous info on the system has been incredibly spotty at best.
Honestly, I just don't think there's enough real info to go on to predict much about them. -

Many were in rowed positions either kneeling in the front or standing behind. One row would fire second row would follow up with either a third row or back to the first row. This is how they created the volley of arrows.Repetitive draws of a bow will tire out a person after a while and they had to have a full draw to make them usefull. That's why a formation of three to five rows of archers would give them time to rest a bit so they can maintain output. Many would carry arrows in their hand and knock like that for lighter arrows and if the combat is close quarter. Others would just keep them in the ground where they stood, to taint their tips and to have them ready to fire. Also Chain mail was never strong to any type of piercing weapon. It only protected from cuts and slashing weapons.Quote:

Getting back to Machinist. I am wondering if they'll eventually get anything like Snap shot or Quick Draw. By the sounds of it it seems like they may eventually get an ability that'll ignore the amo stack for one attack or reduce the reload timer/recast to rebuff on amo for a set amount of time.
