I've been in Final Coils for about a month, and passed t10-t12
but now I'm starting to wonder how most people manage their TP on Fcob?
my TP always goes dry after 3-4 mins of fight and need BRD to fill them up but when I rolled in PUG group by using BRD, most of people don't even ask for army's paeon (ninja/dragoon never ask for it. monk just ask sometimes but like once in a whole fight while I need army's paeon twice)
about my rotation, I only apply DoT once they reach 2-3 seconds and dragonkick/twinsnake only when needed.
And my skillspeed from items are only 44 points and with 3 GL I use weaponskills once every 2.04 seconds or so

Army's Paeon.
I play NIN as my main for FCoB and my group does really good DPS, even the tanks ask for Army's Paeon.
I pug as my BRD and watch as everyone is at full TP whilst I am running out. Some players are slow at using their skills and disengage a lot. If you are running out of TP in between 3-4 minutes, you are doing it right. -

Could just ask the bard for paeon? If I pug I tell melees to let me know when they need paeon so I don't sing for just myself, and I don't know when random people run out, only when my static does lol

It also depends how quickly you're killing things. I.e: when I first started doing t12 I had to Paeon during phase 2 because I was running dry, but now (when we push 4 Bennus), I can wait until the add phase. T10 t11 is non negotiable, I have to Paeon at least twice in those fights due to the 100% uptime. Also a Monk should be tp starved around the 4 30 mark, depending on gear.

Really I sing Paeon when requested, and it's requested once each battle by our NIN, so I don't leave people starved unless they don't let me know when they want things.Quote:

Alright, thanks for the answers! I was really depressed with relying on BRD almost all the time to keep up my dps while dropping theirs.
If it's perfectly normal to empty my tp bar to deal maximum damage while the rest don't need music but they aren't doing their job properly then alright, I shall keep it going! -
12-31-2014, 02:26 AMAkashiXIYou could maybe get away with one Paeon in t12 if your dps staggers their gcds, but the whole transition from adds to the final phase can leave most dps below half tp, which will cause problems. Honestly it depends on your composition, and whether it's worth using Paeon on one dps or putting up foe for multiple casters (including your scholar). T10 and 11 has too much uptime, there's no way you will not be starved towards the the 50% mark, probably even sooner. Once again, these issues will become fewer and far between as dps starts pushing phases quicker.Quote:

t12 and t13 they don't want Paeon at all as it appears to be a raid DPS loss. I can see it maybe being useful if the group is pushing 5 Bennu, but for groups that push 4 there is really no need. And there are plenty of breaks in the 2nd half of the fight. Plenty of breaks in t13 too. We've found using Paeon to be a DPS loss in t13 with our config.
I do plenty of pugs on my alt as well. There I try to be more generous with Paeon as to reduce any potential bickering from people I don't know/normally play with, but the t13 I did last night with double MNK... I asked them about Paeon, and they also did not want it. We pushed into divebombs quickly enough that even without a NIN for Goad the melee did not want/need Paeon. WAR said he might lose a few DPS but not as much as the BRD + BLM gain.
Luckily this week I get to see how my TP is with the Dreadwyrm bow as it finally dropped last week. Ended up dropping 73 skill speed total last week. Looking forward to tonight. :D -
12-31-2014, 04:03 AMRinchanNauI do bluefire in t12 as well. It's honestly not a terribly long DPS loss. I see that the BRD will stop attacking in some groups when they do bluefire. I don't think that's necessary. Especially when pushing 4 Bennu. I'll keep pushing and minimize the loss.Quote:

I don't think we've ever had the Bennu not die fast enough... hmm. Same idea though. Just the current OT, BLM, and me on Bennu.
I got TP starved every turn if I didn't hold back at times. Even with a Goad or two. Not sure that will change with the new weapon, but I can hope. Holding back when necessary has always been a more effective strategy for me than putting up Paeon at times when no other DPS will benefit. -
12-31-2014, 05:25 AMAkashiXIthe way my group does it is simple. The scholar handles the blue fire, the white mage and me (brd) handles brand. The white mage never moves during flame and I run through him to grab or pass. Final phase we have our tanks handle brand. No dps loss whatsoever:DQuote:

We do this so we make a little triangle around the fountain, allowing us to move for pinions and keeping the dps away so they have to minimally move.Quote:
