I would just like to know if you seriously think the Housing Situation is fixed and if you plan on making any changes/additions.

My sister and I have saved up the Gil to buy a small house each but none are available to be had in any ward or subdivision. I know there are others in the same situation as the topic keeps coming up.

He was referring to the housing within ishguard. There will be more updates to housing as the game progresses.

Sounds to me like they think it's fine as it is and are not planning to add any more plots any time soon.

I wish there was a system in place to be able to transfer houses to new plots, relinquish old plots for some small refund (or resell to other players!), and also scale up plots to the next tier.

Because I'm getting to the point where money spend on crafts is starting to pay dividends, and while I want a medium plot, I do not want to forfeit the millions I dropped on the house I currently have. Not to mention the furniture that cannot be recovered once placed...

The addition of subdivisions was a step in the right direction. I honestly believe they will get more out there because they have proved time and time again that they have the desire to do so.

The scope of the instance each ward is in surpasses the idea of a simple player house to a entrance similar to FFXI. We are dealing with 30 in a zone now layered with another phased instance. It takes time to make sure these concepts work. I rather have a working zone then a corrupt one. Have they specifically said they are not adding any more wards? Of course not. I agree, it is not fair for those who came into the market late to be left in the cold, but it is not the end either.

In regards to not adding housing to Ishgard, it makes sense. It will come, but it needs to reflect the common sense nature of the story-line. Who in their right mind would willing buy a house only to have dragons spawn down-wind to char your moogle plushies?

Just give it time. They are working on it.

Like they were working on "Personal Housing" for several months, and we all know how that turned out. I still wonder what they were REALLY doing.

Let us see. 2.4 which added more housing wards, finishing up Fan Festivals, continual work on the expansion, Golden Saucer, design and creation of new housing and equipment items, class structure, the Ninja class, the content prior to personal housing between the introduction of standard FC housing and the biggest continual effort in maintaining stability across three platforms. Keep in mind that the answer was in the context of programming resources. Before they had their programmers focusing on how to increase the capacity of each housing ward, which they did by adding subdivisions and doing various optimizations. Now that they've figured that out, they can keep on adding new wards (which they said they will), but the programmers could start focusing on improving the capabilities of each house rather than trying to solve the capacity problem. The ward problem is no longer a programmer problem, just an infrastructure issue, which would probably be handled by a different team. The whole answer was basically trying to explain why they weren't able to raise this limit until they got the capacity issue figured out first.

The problem as usual is that they need to be more careful/precise with their wording when they post these answers on the forums. Yoshi-P tends to be very vague and conceptual because he oversees a whole lot of different things and isn't really "in the weeds", but when he talks about details people take him very literally.

And though I don't owe you or anyone an explanation, the house is for me and my daughters Free Company. She started playing 2 months ago and we have been working hard to get our Company to Rank 6 only to discover that there are no small plots available. She is so disappointed that she has little desire to play now and feels all our work was for nothing.

Housing is a big deal to many people and is something that should be available to everyone.

If you watch that they show the craftman's workshop for the FC. And Yoshi P talks about crafting a full size house and being able to "plop it down". So they have to have something in store on changes to housing area's. Because I don't see a small house crafting a mansion in their basement then 'plopping it down' in the small sized plot area. Will have to see what they plan to do in the future tho in patch notes/live letters.

If you play on a highly populated legacy server, shouldn't high demand be expected? They can't just snap their fingers and give everyone a house plot, these things take time and resources, which are being allocated twards other (more important) things atm. I think if you switched to a different world you can find some open plots.

They should have anticipated high demand on highly populated legacy servers.There should be more plots available on these worlds not this one size fits all approach.

I don't expect them to snap their fingers but I do expect them to say they are still working on it not make statements like, "...we have met the demand..." & "...sometime in the future...".

Aspects of the game that are "more important" to you are not necessarily the same for me. This Housing issue is very important to me, my daughter and our small Free Company.

So I should transfer off the World I have been on since 1.0, sacrifice a large percentage of my gil, leave the friends I've made and restart our Free Company from scratch in order to maybe find a plot of land? No. SE needs to fix this not just for me but everyone that is being left out.

There are no new housing areas in Hevensward. He is talking about the recent land expansion unless we get an official Dev Response that says otherwise.

All I am asking for is Official confirmation if they will be adding more small plots and when.

Well, as of last week, I'm officially setteled on a new server and saving my tank money to go all the way and buy a larg plot JUST FOR MY SELF. Excessive? Probably. Time consuming? Oh heck yes, but less so than atmas. Will it be worth it? I think so considering the last 3 FCs I joined before moving servers all screwed me in preaty much the same way. So I'll save up the 45-80 mil my self. Level my Gatherers and Crafters along the way And SUCK! IT! UP!!!!

That way when the expantion comes out, I'll have a Mansion and an Airship all to my self without having to worry about anouther FC screwing me out of my hard earned Gil.

Just as Yoshida mentioned during the Producer Letter LIVE, we had been devoting all of our housing resources to adding new land, but now we are going to switch focus and use our resources to enhance what you can do with housing, such as the introduction of Free Company crafting.

Can we just get more housing instances please. The one's on hyperion are already full and there are no more small plots of land to buy anywhere.

I want a small house for my bride and I. Sadly because a 1+ hour of logging after last patch we couldn't get on and needed to go to bed so we could get up 5 hours later to go to work. We missed out on all the small houses.
So clearly you need to revamp your thinking.

17m for a medium is almost ok, but sadly that is also a lot of house for 2 people.

If people weren't so quick to buy personal housing that they never used it wouldn't be an issue. Personal/FC housing needs to be in segregated wards asap.

Also, please just add more land. Is SE taking into consideration the influx of new or returning players each patch? I'd love to get my hands on even a small house for my company on Phoenix, but all plots of land are taken. Now, if FC housing and Personal housing were seperate matters as once advertised....

The reality is that the stress of the housing situation is different per server. On Adamantoise, it was only maybe two-three weeks ago that all Goblet Subdivision 5 plots were bought out - slow enough activity that 95% of the small plots are actually all owned by members of our Free Company (as well as all occupied larger houses). But that's on our server - I know particularly popular ones like Balmung and Excalibur have housing disappear within a day when it's added.

What they need is to start allocating the expansions of housing areas based on server demand rather than globally. Looking at it globally, when you consider that the vast variance in populations, there's probably a good chunk of servers which aren't having problems - so it's not as urgent as it was.

I couldn't agree with this sentiment more. There are some servers that likely still have plenty of open room, while high population servers are almost taken up the moment more housing becomes available. Over on Balmung in each of the three residential areas every single small plot is gone, most of the medium plots are gone, and all that are left are a few large plots which are easily beyond the grasp of private housing for almost anyone.

Thank you for the response, but can we get some kind of time frame seeing as how additional land is necessary now, on Excalibur?

And whereas I do appreciate the enhancements they are working on, I need a house to be able to enjoy them.

I'm not sure if somebody already said this but. Is it possible to make 1 or 2 wards with just all small lands? Lets face it not alot of ppl can afford med and large so they just stay untouched.

Sorry but putting in enough housing for 2% of the population is in no way fulfilling demand. I think someone needs to go and recheck his math.

If I am not mistaken, I believe there should be 8 wards per city (I'm not at my computer at the moment to check to be certain). That is a total of 24 wards currently, and within each ward are 60 plots of various sizes, for a total of 1,440 houses. If I remember correctly, the servers allow 7,500 players to connect simultaneously, not counting for how many players are actually on that server; this is just the number of players who can connect at once. On my server (Balmung) there is almost always a queue, if only a small one, meaning that the server population is so high that there is consistently more than 7,500 players online at all times.

If we were to say that every house was purchased by an individual and not a FC, that would mean that the current available housing only accommodates 19.2% of the servers connection capacity (not the servers total playerbase), in other words that means there is only enough housing available for less than one quarter of the online users on Balmung at this very moment. Realistically however, not every house is owned by an individual, many are owned by FCs, which means that there are even less available for private housing than the 19.2% shown above.

If you feel like this number has met the current demand for housing, you don't understand your playerbase at all. I understand that the private chambers are also supposed to be making up for the lack of housing, but the way I see it private chambers are mainly only there for people who can't actually afford a full house, and some people would like to have both.

Just allow indoor-gardening in private chamber, don't really need a land.

Great... crushed my Christmas wish. ;_; Everyone I know still wants a house, myself included. I have not wanted to play FFXIV for the past 8 months and the only real reason I came back is to work on getting a house.... I really feel like whoever came up with this "demands have been met" theory should be questioned on how they got this information. This is completely not true, and I really hope I haven't been wasting my time trying to save up when I can no longer have one of the features I was playing and striving for as my personal goal in game. Most likely won't be staying or paying for my wedding if I am unable to obtain land anymore.

I'm very disappointed and hope you will be adding more available land in the future. I login to the server an hour after patches and all the small plots are gone. In what world does this count as demands are being met? Idk.... Just my opinion.

Short of giving us more land fast, how about adding those "gardening in personal rooms" things we heard about. Give us access to the options that people who have their own full houses have. I'm a botanist and love to garden, but i have no option to do so

Yea they have far from filled the demand, MOST players who don't resort to buying gil have to actually work to save up for a house. And not every player knows how to "work the markets", some of us have to grind the gil through dailys.

I personally have my eyes set on 1 and ONLY 1 lot. And will settle for no other lot than lot #11 in Lavender Beds. On Balmung that shit starts out at 37mil on release, since its a popular lot you gotta get it at full price. I've been slowly saving what gil I make and so far I'm at 18mil..that's only half of what I need! I don't think I will have the full 37mil till around April or May, but I will get there, and they had better have more wards by then.

Like I said, I will only settle for that lot and that lot only. If by the time I have the money it is not available AND no more housing will be added I will immediately quit the game. I was ready to do so when they released info on "personal housing" the day of release and pretty much sent the community the one finger salute. I wont back down in doing so this go round.

yeah it kind of sucks that it's really server by server. :/ I know on Adamantoise there are PLENTY of plots available, in about 5 neighborhoods, almost completely bare. But then on the highly populated servers there is nothing. So I don't know how they are/will balance that ...

I think the question should be - is Yoshida~san and team even thinking about instancing private player housing? I don't understand why this isn't even being looked into if they are not. I am not tech oriented so I might be jumping into a deep end I cannot come out of it... But wouldn't it take less resources to do it that way? Create a sustainable feature that lasts into the future? What is the issue? I have a small house and I love my home so I am not bringing this up because I am "homeless." Just trying to wrap my mind around what Yoshida~san and team are thinking. I do not believe this question, asked by others, has ever been answered.

I got lucky tonight and 1 small plot became available and I was fortunate to get it for an even $5 mil gil, however...

I still worry about everyone else that is still homeless and would like to know which upcoming patch(es) will include additional plots and will it be enough to meet the demands.
