In order to address the issue of players undertaking a duty and then equipping gear lower than the required item level for the purpose of spirit bonding, the following adjustments have been made:
The rate at which gear gains spiritbond will now be reduced when gear is not the appropriate level for a given duty or open-world encounter. Furthermore, if the item level of gear is too high or too low, it will no longer gain spiritbond.
Example:
　Rubelite Ring (item level 49)
The ring will gain spiritbond at a reduced rate in duties such as the Labyrinth of the Ancients and Pharos Sirius, but will gain spiritbond at an increased rate in duties such as Castrum Meridianum and Wanderer's Palace.
Following the above changes to spiritbond gain, the probability of converting gear item level 70 or above into grade IV materia will now vary depending on the item level of the gear converted.
I tried Urth's Gift and then Syrcus Tower and got 0% spiritbond gain.
(aka wasted the time at Urth's Gift, just one pull but still wasted time, and wasted time in Syrcus Tower on my spiritbond potion. Not a huge deal but this is kinda ridiculous.)
Please stop Square-Enix fix the problem at the root instead of beating around the bush
CREATE AN INSTANCE WHERE PLAYERS CAN SPIRITBOND
(any piece of gear for the purpose of spiritbonding.)
(Something Akin to hamlet maybe? so crafters and gatherer's can spiritbond.)
(Probably needs to be soloable also.)

Mostly a soloable instance because dps queues are absurd if your sole pupose of queueing is to spiritbond.
Also so Crafters and gatherers arent hurting the queue and get instant queue also. -

Gear SB's best on things 10 or less levels above it.
More than 10 and you get nothing. And you get less when the content is under the item level, most noticeable when its more than 5 levels under.
As far as what binds where, the rule of thumb is the level of the gear dropped by an instance IS the level of the enemies in the instance.
So if you want to bond crafted electrum jewelery, your best bet is soloing lvl 45-50 mobs, and maybe Castrum Merid, Prae, WP might be too high.
Bonding DL? Try the earlier HM dungeons that drop DL, or CT, which drops i80, so it "should" be ideal for bonding DL.
And so forth. -

I tried Hullbreaker isle and Halatali hard and neither were good/efficient.
I later tried Copperbell and Lost City and those seemed decent.
Since i'm spiritbonding item level 70 as a dps its taken a total of 3-4+ hours to get 89% (dps queue)
This cant be the expected way to spiritbond right?
Cause, why stay for the entire dungeon if the sole reason i'm there is to spiritbond? Once i hit 100% can just drop party. This cant possibly be intended............................... -

Ok, there's an easy rule of thumb. Look at what drops in the dungeon. Libra Eorzea and lodestone's play guide list this. See the item level of the drops? That's the ideal item level to wear for spiritbinding there. Of note, Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium are item level 50.

Interestingly enough, I just updated my Spiritbonding guide with dungeon info, and I'll have another update to it in a few days after I'm done compiling info.
But to answer the question in the thread title: you put together the information they gave us, and then go out and test in. If it works well, then great, if it doesn't you go back and reevaluate your test. Sometimes you don't get it right the first time around, so you keep creatively trying things until you do find something that works. -

I have yet to queue as anything but DPS to farm it for items to desynth or use and I have yet to wait more than a few minutes to get in. Two wipes in a couple of weeks, and those were because of lazy tanks/healers. Spirit bond away.Quote:
