I had trouble finding a post that listed the camps we've all been finding without a lot of 'name-calling' and off-topic posts. The same might happen here too, but I thought maybe if I started this thread, others could add in the SP grind camps they have tried and found so far.
I DO NOT have a complete list. I only started ranking my Archer this week (wanted to test how the new SP system worked for ranking). I am currently rank 24. The method's I used so far were as follows:
Levels 1-15 I soloed.
15-18. Duoed Oilbugs and Opo-Opos North of Camp Tranquil (in the same room as the Militia)
18-23 Trioed Opo-opo's and Puks and later Gnats in Mun-tuy. (start by doing Opo's only)
21-23 Solo/Duo Cassie's/Puks in Cass. Hollow You *can* start these at rank 19 but it's a little slower sp/hr than the other options.
21-25 Light Party/Trio in Nanawa Mines on Puks. (Tested this on MRD alt char last week)
24-26 Great Time to focus on Behests/Rank 20 camp Leves since they grant SP, the leves can give you guild credits and both are geared to be optimal for rank 25.
27-34ish Totorak Dungeon. You can start at rank 25, but depending on party set-up kills might be a little slow. Also, the dungeon grind doesn't give as much SP as other camps but the break in straight party grinding plus the added chance for rare/ex gears makes it a welcome break.
30-35 Amalj'aa near camp broken water can net 30k an hour with a full PT.
35-40ish Amalj'aa camp near broken water can still be a good grind spot for Solo-Light Party.
35-40ish Sylphs NW of Camp Nine Ivies- near the big room at the top of the map Moongorge something if I can read SE's Map writing correctly. (I only briefly tested this solo yesterday). Con to this camp is it is a HULL to get to. Pro is it's an uncommon beastmen camp AND they are soft and squishy (perfect for a mage/archer light party).
I will edit/update as I get to the next camp.
Also, as I've been trying to keep track of different spots with decent SP I've noticed I'm not usually in a full party. I tend to be out duo/trio or in light parties. (Probably just what I'm use to as I was a Level 75 BLM in ffxi-retired before Level Increase). Anyway, others have posted some Full-party camps so I think I'm going to stick to my small party camps for the most part. However, a good rule of thumb, a small party can kill for decent sp/hour what a full party can when they are about 3-4 ranks higher than what is optimal for a full-party. Some mobs however, seem to be better low-maned by specific jobs/abilites than others.
Again, the reason I don't have a full list is because these are the camps I tried so far based on my current classes/ranks. The main point of this post was have anyone who felt like sharing, add camps they've tried. Maybe we can get a good list of ideas. :)

Hey i can add to this aswell, ive been starting grind parties everyday for the past few days, its easiest to start them in uldah, just shout that you are a skill point party looking for more!, works great also put the ranks your looking for. So for these are the camps ive been using.
10-16 Camp Tranquil, Oilbugs 10-13, Opos 13-16. Pos is (37,48)
15-19 Camp Bloodshore, Cassiopeia Hollow Puks and Jellies 15-19, You need to make your way to the 8,5 9,5 section on the map and lookout for the Elemental in the center and the other 2 types of mobs that aggro, theres tons of puks and jellies tho just make sure your party doesnt over extend its best to wait for pops our backtrack a bit towards the aetheryte node.
17-22 Camp Emerald Moss, The Mun-Tuy Cellars. Make your way to 4,3. Kill all the squirrels and puks on your way, opos to if your grp is a bit lower, once your at 4,3 pull gnats untill the room is cleared then kill puks and squirrels for a few mins till they repop. -

I have been doing r40-42 Toxic Toads and Black Crow mercenaries (or whatever they are supposed to be) around camp Bald Knoll. Toads are located N/NE from the camp, next to a dungeon entrance. Mercenaries are to the east from the camp.
It was possible to grind on them starting r31 lancer/marauder duo (probably works at r30 too) and the sp is good at least til r34, will most likely last til r36-37 if you're duoing.
In a light party (4-5 members) the sp starts to go down after reaching r33 but it's still good at that point. I would guess some other camp would be better once party reaches r34-35.
Strategy: Start on toads and once they are killed, go kill mercenaries until toads pop again. At later ranks kill all of the toads, then all of the mercenaries and back to toads. SP per kill is around 300 at highest, and goes down to 170 later on.
Sorry about vague posting, I have only done it starting from r31 and I am currently 34. I have had friends ranking from r28 upwards with me there and they have survived the fights without problems. -

Hey for all of my grind spots the parties are always 5-8 members and im not sure about sp/hr, but its usually 250-400 sp a killl if u are 7-10 lvls lower then the target mob, and with 5-8 members each mobs dies in about 15-20secs and there is NO downtime unless theres a wipe or death. So id say about 600sp per min average, 6k every 10mins, 36000sp per hour? if u pull steadily.

If anyone could post rank 40+ camps they've found that would be nice, I'm having trouble getting more than 3 people in my level range right now though, people 44-49 are much rarer than r20s or r30s, even on Selbina and it kinda sucks., was thinking about starting my own party going to camp and leaving someone in uldah to invite and shout. Mobs seems to be giving better sp, was gonna try goblin bouncer camp by the opposite side of the r25 dungeon and see how good of a camp it is. Because people love sp'ing off mobs with awful tp attacks, and I think bomb toss is very weak compared to lets say getting fire breathed at this rank by grass raptors.

Hey just to clear some things up all of my camp suggestions are for light-full parties, idk if everyon knows this but u get the same exp amount of sp for killing a mob alone as u would for being in a full party, so theres almost no reason to not try for a light or full party, and at lvls 10-24 its honestly only taken me a max of 30 mins to get 6 ppl together, u hardly even need a designated tank or healer when u have that many ppl, a mrd or pug with defender and taunt can tank just fine and 1 thm or con and ur good to go, the mobs die so quickly that theres barely any dmg coming out.

Also, not sure how this plays out as you rank higher and higher, BUT if you happen accross a Behest that is at an unpopular camp, do it. You can get a bonus just for doing it. (Your log will say something like 'sp bonus granted for doing a neglected behest'). You can also get a time completion SP bonus. These bonuses can stack so not a bad idea to do a behest or two at a camp you don't see anyone at esp. if you are in a light/full party.
***I noticed this at Camp Emerald Moss on my server, but it might be different on other servers AND I'm sure it will change camps as certain behests become more/less popular.*** -

the ones listed above I found myself. Those that say unattempted are obviously because I never partied there myself, but they appear to be good places and someone should try them out and report back. Also please note if you are looking for a good camp so not just look at the rank of the monster. humanoid/beastmen type mobs tend to give more sp in my experience. For example, I could solo r30 amalj'aa at r25 and get like 250 sp. but if I soloed a dormouse that was r37 I only got 100sp.

We didn't really keep close tabs on that sp and I imagine it might be 25k/hour (especially if you had a 3rd for faster killing).Quote:

There is some bad advice in this thread. You'll only want to hunt mobs with very high base SP values and some of these suggestions don't follow that rule. Here's a chart on mob base SP.
Most enemy types don't give a base of 150+ until such high levels that they don't become viable targets under the current rank cap. I believe raptors have the lowest HP of all 150 base mobs, which makes them the ideal targets. The problem at just about every camp, though, is that the respawn rate cannot keep up with the killing speed of even a single light party targeting enemies 10 ranks above the party (going beyond 10 ranks will not yield any additional SP).
I really do not see how full parties could possibly be viable anywhere. The respawn rate just isn't there and you'll run out of mobs in no time. Recently I was in a 5-man party where we hunted 11-14 levels above peistes (a high hp mob) at Riversmeet and even though the area is huge and has tons of peistes, they eventually went extinct and respawned extremely slowly.
Drakes have a 200 base and I'm curious if there are any viable camps with high 50s to low 60s drakes to hunt. I believe most of them are L70+, however. -

Sixth: Different Battleclass combinations *might* get different results or find certain camps/mobs easier/harder than others. For instance, the 'gnat' camp might not be good for someone without a ranged attack ability since gnats aggro.
Seventh: Respawn rates will be adjusted as/when SE realizes there's a problem. As stated earlier, SE keeps adjusting mob spawn locations, amount of mob etc.
As to the drakes, not sure how they work out now, but yes, there are drakes in Mor Dorna that would be worth exploring. My ls and I checked them out pre-patch and noticed they'd be pretty good probably ranks 48ish-53ish. BUT, not sure if they are still there and not sure if they still grant same sp base. -

The area around IL has some of the largest amounts of suitable grind mobs, yet it can't even support two parties hunting the same level raptors. The nearby Kobolds have a base of 100 and more HP and are thus much worse for grinding. The efts on the other hand are IIRC considerably higher in level (62+) than even the highest level raptors that cap out at 49.Quote:

Frein, I think you misunderstood the idea behind this tread. I just was trying to create a place where people could share ideas they've tried/found. I'm sure that while some of these are excellent ideas, others might fall a little short.
Also, I never meant to imply that lower based SP mobs die faster due to simply having lower base SP. Instead what I meant was if I can pull/kill Mob A where I gain 180sp/kill faster than you can pull/kill Mob B where you gain 210sp/kill, then it is completely possible that I can gain the same sp/hour or even more than you.
And the no area supports a full-party thing: Well many of the suggestions people have offered so far are for Light Party Groupings or smaller. Occasionally, there is some crossover in group size/level etc. I'm not going to edit peoples suggestions ideas, rather let people who choose to read this forum make their own decisions.
Also there's a big difference between someone suggesting a party camp location for one group of 4 lets say, and then suggesting that it's not a good camp because it can't support 2 groups of 4.
Lastly, sometimes people might know 'the sp at this grind camp isn't as good as that grind camp over there' but choose to do it anyway because they benefit in other ways: Like maybe they can save on Anima, or not have to compete with another party for SP, or do behests/leves nearby, farm for mats/profit, etc. Heck are tired of killing the 'usual grind mobs.' All of those reasons add validity to these camps too.
I am in no way trying to start a fight with you either, I'm merely just trying to explain that 'sure, some of these camps might not be the best, but they're worth exploring.' Your method for ranking up and selecting mobs is equally valid. -

At rank 5 head north of black brush and kill moiling moles, they give over 900 sp per kill. So you will rank up very fast killing those. At rank 14 or 15 you can duo those popoto opotos north of camp tranquil...they give around 600 sp a kill
