So I understand that abandoning Brayflox after the second boss is a decent way to farm myth tombs, but its really damn annoying when I get stuck with Brayflox (which only takes about 20 minutes to complete...) for the expert roulette to farm up sold tombs and then the group decides to abandon it after the second boss without even saying anything. In turn, I get to sit through the 40 minute DPS queue again. Thanks guys...
This is really annoying. I understand people want to farm Myth, but maybe use the party finder or something for it? It only takes an extra 6 minutes to go from the second boss to the end. Would it really kill people to maybe ask the group first if everyone wants to abandon it, instead of just going 'meh, the three of us want to, so f**k you'.

I just needed to vent a bit. Maybe I'm wrong and the majority should rule all the time. Thoughts?
Edit: Or, here's an idea. Maybe if the group decides to abandon after 2 bosses are dead and I vote no but the vote passes I get my daily completion bonus anyways. Eh? Eeeh? That would work for me as well.

No, you're in the right there, sounds like they were a premade group of three abusing Vote Abandon.
Pretty terrible behavior really, and really, incredibly lazy of them to not make a PF Speed Run group.
If that happened to me and they were on my server I'd blacklist them instantly, it might not have any effect in the long term but at least you'll feel a bit better about it... -

This leaves the people left behind at least with the option to fill the dungeon with "join in progress" players if they want to. on the other hand... i joined an in progress once where people were at the last boss and the 2 of them (dps pugs too op...) voted to abandon, when i told them I already found someone from my LS who can join in progress to finish it up, it went through zzz... -

One tactic is to vote someone out. I try to open a chest really fast and never roll on it so they can't. I don't know if it works on vote abandon but you can try.

I've still never seen this and I run 2 characters still mainly as solo expert queueing. To be honest, if you have this happen to you it's not even a bad thing; plenty of need for myth tome farming, and hopefully 2.3 will at least shift where the speedruns happen.

But you have to wait 40 minutes for expert roulette? In Tonberry, I waited like 7 minutes max as a dragoon though...must be pretty bad for you. -

This reminds me of a time when I did a run of Blayfox HM. We clear the second boss and the healer just goes " Okay guys thx " and just ditches us. It was then I found out about the whole Myth Speedrun deal.

Abandoning duty isn't an issue if it's 4 people that agree to do it, but when you drag along an unknown 4th into a concept they didn't agree to, that's a form of harassment. There is no excuse to use DF for 3 people just to leave and cause issues for the 4th person and groups that do that can be reported.
The main use of abandoning a duty is to circumvent the penalty of leaving a duty when there is no hope, the party agrees that they can't get through it and they leave so that no one is penalized, but to use it to leave after getting what they wanted without care for the 4th person is uncalled for. If you have the names of the 3 players it's easy enough to report them, and not only that you can check to see if they were on the same server, which they likely were, explain the situation to the GM and it can easily be resolved on their end to at least give those players a warning since they are misusing an in game tool.
And I"m not saying players shouldn't abandon duty if they are a premade group of 4, if 4 players want to farm mytho and abandon duty after 2nd boss that's perfectly fine, but once you let a stranger in and cause them grief by ending a duty short when they went in with the intention of completing a dungeon that's when it becomes an issue. -

I had this in Halatali HM after second boss, the DPS and I had independently queue'd for DR for the daily freaking bonus. After abandon failed, tank left, followed by healer- I think they just wanted to get myth tomes and had soldiery capped, so they decided to instant queue and use a couple of random DPS's to get that far and bail.
You know, the PS4 has this handy "record" button and it keeps the last 15 minutes of game play in memory- hit the button and you can save it off after the fact. So when things like this happen, I hit save and that lets me go back and see who did/said what. I've started a Greatest Hits compilation including players who bail a DR the second they pop on, and these two. However as a current subscriber I would never break the rule against naming and shaming people by posting that yet. -

You can't vote abandon until 15 minutes after, most DF groups I do complete entire dungeon in 12-13 minutes. So I would probably vote abandon if it took that long for just first two bosses too.

Is this really that widespread? I've only encountered it one time and the tank asked first if we could abandon after the second boss. I and another party member replied that we needed the soldiery, the tank was cool with that and we completed the dungeon as normal.

This is the reason I've stopped even capping sold each week now, had too many occasions of vote abandon or just leaving after second boss when doing my daily expert.
It's shocking they haven't fixed this situation already by adding at least a myth reward to final boss, this is out right abuse that SE refuses to even deal with -
