So after months of bitching about not having content, needing more hardcore grinds to get stuff, etc, many users;

A) bitch about not being able to do all the new content in 5 hours... seriously.

b) bitch content is too much of a grind even though same peeps complained everything is too simple and just handed away before.

c) bitch some more, possibly about anything and everything

My advice it just quit the game already, you will never be happy :p

I know you mean well ( I think ), but bitching about bitching is mind blowing.

take out FATEs, make the game center around levequests again.

That's what the community wants.

My only problem is with Step 1 of the Zodiac thing...the RNG FATEs. Step 2 requires buying a book, and completing all objectives within, which could probably take 2-3 days. You have to do that 9 times, meaning it'd take at least a month to complete all that. Step 2 is a way better version of doing it than Step 1 due to it being skill based, and I encourage more of Step 2...but Step 1's RNG can be dropped like a rock, there's a reason people don't like it (it's luck based, 'nuff said).

Pretty sure these aren't the same people.
The content tend to be more quiet than the upset.

That aside, I'm pleased with this direction as I've never really disliked FATES.

I'm with Gramul on that one, I actually enjoy FATEs, it's how I managed to level most of my classes since I got tired of waiting on instances.

And I find the new content awesome, I did complain about certain things before but it feels like SE really listened on this one. The rare and powerful weapons and armor are really starting to feel rare and powerful, where before it everyone and their mother was able to get these powerful items with close to no effort.

I'm not really a big fan of the retainer ventures but since I'm not forced to use them I'm alright. :)

You must be mistaken, I don't recall anyone asking for a 2% droprate on enough fate grinding to level another class.

If anything, this is a lot more simple than memorizing boss attack patterns.

I don't mind this since my FC members and I can do this part at our own pace. I'm personally running whatever FATEs I run across while gathering from the new nodes or doing the new beastmen quests. Was kinda surprised since I thought at least one person would have really hated it. I guess it just works better when you are ok with doing stuff in moderation. We have a ton of stuff to do with this patch, anyway. That said I wouldn't mind if they changed it to be a set amount instead of random.

Yeah, because you're forced to get the Weapon for all classes. *sigh*

Content is generally not geared to be played infinite times (see: Wow Daily Quests, that you needed to complete like 200 each day, if you intended to do them with every class. It's not even possible really^^).


I understand this is not the absolute most fun, but to me it's interesting. "How much WORK (yes, it's not fun, but work) do I have to put in if I want that weapon?" and "How long can I wait?". I personally will probably take a few weeks for the FATEs on my main, and probably much much longer for 2nd/3rd one, and I'm fairly sure I won't bother doing it with every class, because for me it's not worth it. For others it might. Just do what YOU want to do/achieve. It's not like farming Coil 500 times would be more fun than doing the same FATEs over.^^

What if some try ? what will you do ?

I don't mind it really. I don't know why everyone is complaining about this though as if they have the extra 13.5k myth sitting around to upgrade it, it's almost as if they aren't aware that the unupgraded version is merely an ilvl boost and no real stat gain.

A ton of people who hate the FATE system, still love things that take a while to get. In fact, the person you quoted actually said he liked the Step 2 part of the quest. Which is going to take a lot longer, and be a lot more involved than the FATE portion. I have no problem with work at all. FATE grinding though, is not work. It's tedious, yes, and not fun.. but that doesn't automatically make it work. Work (to me) is difficult and requires you to pay attention, not just something being time consuming. FATE grinding does not require me to pay attention, and it is not difficult. It reduces me to tabbing out while waiting, then running into an area and hitting a whooping one button. Sometimes a whole -two- buttons. I could even do it without looking at my screen and it most certainly doesn't require any sort of coordination.

I was giving it a chance and all, and I suppose I'll have to just go with it, but after doing FATES for a couple of hours (I'm not as dedicated as a lot of you) and seeing no drops I began to wonder just how long it can take to not really upgrade your weapon. Though it would have appeared to be more work if the description were worded this way, I'd much prefer something along the lines of 'Complete every FATE in the game'. The terrible drop rate instills this very annoying sense that you could spend the entire day working on this without making any progress at all due entirely to bad luck. I think they need to tweak it somehow. Maybe a growing drop rate (even starting at 0% and going up 1% each FATE would be nice).

I don't deny fate grinding is excrutiatingly mind numbing, but what alternative would you suggest that also includes "work"? Going down the same path as 2.1? Kill XX of mobs, run the new dungeons, run levi hm? That would be too easy (I killed her on my first attempt). Or how about killing primal ex instead? Oh wait they already have that it gives you the same ilvl weapon.

If you say that 13500 myth tomes is better than 12 atmas, assuming 45 myth per run (most efficient dungeon), that is exactly 300 runs of any of the new hm dungeons/AT. And is 300 runs of the same dungeon not a grind as well? Somehow I have a feeling I will get the atmas faster than farming the tomes even with the atrocious drop rates.

I don't see any other way they can go about the relic quest line, aside from creating a totally new quest line that is specifically for the relic (new dungeon, new boss, etc), which obviously I would prefer.

You might find if you pay attenchion many of the ones bitching are the ones that asked them not to do it.
But yes there are many of the ones asking for it bitching about it as well As we warned them they would.

It makes absolutely no sense as to why these Atma's can be gotten from any FATE in the zone either from a story perspective, it's just a terribly lazy way to keep people "busy" (spamming flash/other aoe and tabbing out).

I assumed this was the FATE's the Zodiac Quest was talking about until I learned they drops from ANY random FATE in the specific location.

Granted it makes it harder to gather them all in quick succession if they drop at a very low rate in any random FATE but it just makes it... tiring.

Some guy could easily just get all 12 pieces in a day and be like wow that was easy! ( super lucky mr. Rng )
And the guy next to him could have been grinding hours and hours everyday to only have like 2 pieces.

But it'd also be a real slap to the face if someone finally got 12 pieces after all that hard work to just find out that they increased drop rates to 10% after a patch.

I never thought I'd see the day when I would use diablo 3 as a guideline for something positive but here I am. The basically have a failsafe in that game that ensures if after something like 6 hours you dont get legendary item drop the failsafe goes oh they should have gotten one by now we are going to make the next item that drops legendary. I also believe that at set increments they increase your chance of a legendary item dropping up until you hit the failsafe. Something like 12 hours feels like a good failsafe to me

Servers seem much more alive now with everyone running around trying to do fates for relics.
