abilities that have no global cooldown usually have animation cooldown and its like 0.5sec or something like that. Tank usually spam the stuns and those are almost always in the dr. Healers can heal easily because they need heal 2 dps once + tank that can do almost same dmg than dps if its marauder. Mana users can not cast while moving so their damage/heal is weaker in that time they are running. When u get more pvp skills u can remove sprint urself. you can remove first sprint + use sprint + invigorate for the second and third remove sprint again. I m gonna level my dragoon up too since it sounds pretty fun and tired of those 1 hour pvp ques. Hope that help something.
Feint isn't a snare Sunako =3.. It's just a Spell Speed/Skill Speed reduction. Melee depend on Weapon Throw which is on a 60s CD upgraded removes sprint and has applies Heavy 40% if upgraded. They have Invigorate + Enliven to sprint twice, both melees have an initiation charge skill. I don't see why you'd complaint when you have the tools to get the job done.
Knowing when to use your jumps as DRG helps. You have Sprint + Invigorate. This should help you to get the initiation on a target. Use Auto-Face to also help smoother aim on targets. Heck, I'd argue to even use auto-run if needed. Character positional checks haven't changed but despite that, it isn't overly difficult to remain on a target. You just have to get used to a certain rhythm of movement. This game's weird. As a fellow DRG, my suggestion would be to use Piercing Talon whenever kited and time your jumps accordingly in conjunction with Weapon Throw. You can't have 100% up time on a target, it just won't be fair.
Enliven is the worst PvP skill of them all. Not because of its actual function, but because it's a waste if you have invigorate. You shouldn't need to sprint two times to keep up time on a target.
Whatever you do, don't get Enliven. It is a waste of points. As far as Piercing Talon goes, don't be ashamed to use it! That bad boy crits for 488 sometimes when I use it. It's really not bad at all. As far as making Feint an actual Snare - I'm in agreement. I'd be more excited if it were off GCD, however. I'm uploading a new vid. It might be useful to show you what I do to stick on a target.
I find that a lot of times I have a problem using my dragon kick ability as the animation for it seems to be so stupid long. Wtb shorter animations.
WTB Weapon Throw
Well Enliven is thus far good for me as a Monk. Not sure about Dragoon. Unlike Dragoon dropping your GL3 is big taboo for Monks. And most of monk skills hit like wet noodle without positional advantage + GL3.
@Zabuza
Stop being stingy and upgrade it already =P. I'm having a field day canceling sprint on it. Also you forget to add that Dragon Kick hits like a wet noodle if it doesn't meet the positional benefit. Hitting the back of someone is possible when training someone in PvP. Flank? Better give up on that...
Figuring out where I want to allocate all my points is where I have my biggest problem actually lol. The PvP abilities for monk are sooooo useful even ranked up.
Somersault owns spellcasters. Up to 50% spell speed reduction for 20 second duration.
Axe Kick is useful against physical dps, and at 240 potency can also be used as a major damage off GCD move and able to get instant GL3 off it.
Weapon Throw can slow a target for up to 12 seconds 40% movement slow.
Need 2 points in fetter ward for 10 seconds
Need Purify obv.
Oh... the possibilities.
Yeah It's super cluttered!
Somersault upgraded + Feint is a super counter on Equanimity healers. I wouldn't use Axe Kick for DMG or so much for the pacification but by god getting instant GL3 is too good. Thus far I've found Weapon throw with CD reduction and 40% Slow for 6 seconds is good enough. It is enough for us to chase up during that 6 seconds. 12 Seconds give us a lot of space to position Flank attacks, but it can still be easily countered due to this game's auto facing. Fetter wards needs 10 seconds. Purify is also a given. You'd be really torn on what to take. But thus far I've only hovered between these setup:
Axe Kick - CD Reduce - 6
Somersault - No Upgrade -3
Weaponthrow - CD Reduce, 40% - 6
Purify - CD Reduce - 3
Fetter Wards - 10s Upgrade -6
Enliven - No Upgrade -3
Or...
Move Enliven into Somersault upgrade.
Hmm, I don't really get the CD reductions on any of them, most matches in my data center don't last long enough for those to be beneficial. What I have is like this.
Axe Kick upgraded to 9 second pacify, no potency increase yet.
Somersault at 50% spell speed reduction, no duration increase yet.
Weapon throw basic 6 second skill.
Fetter Ward upgraded to 10 seconds, no cd reduction.
Basic Purify.
I did not get enliven at all, but use icarus wings in place of them.
I'm rank 26 so still deciding what I want to get for next 2 skills.
My bad, I mean to make up for Dragon Kick's long animation, you should do as I posted previously.
I would go these for the dragoon.
fetter ward - 6 when enemy pop swiftcast u can stay full duration immune from the cc
skewel - 6 reduce 40% opponent caster int and can protect u or ur team mates from incoming burst
weapon throw - 6 for removing sprint every 1min
enliven - 6 cause of 75% energy regeneration
impulse rush - 6 boost ur burst damage since that ability have no gcd? and easier use sprint with invigorate.
total 30 points
I would not take that 40% heavy because 20% chance is too rng and there is other good places too
Dependency on Enliven as DRG is showcasing a severe lack of how to properly play the most mobile class in game. You do not need 2 sprints as DRG, heck, you don't even need 1. Seriously, with Auto-Face and the changes to melee attack checks as of 2.15, you should have little to no problem being on a target. If it were MNKs the argument might be different, even then, I still think Enliven is an absolute waste when they have a 30s gap closer and invigorate in hand - not to mention, Icarus Wings. Our upgradeable abilities do not see as much improvement as say, MNKs. You will be perfectly fine at R1 of each. We simply have longer durations and less CD activity by upgrading them. However, the point of a DRG is to do damage. They are not as versatile as a MNK. The more damage you pile into a DRG, the better.
Well if Enhance STR cost only 3 for all upgrades it be fine... But to get full upgrade it takes a whooping 15 points. Enhance STR is just not worth it.
Nah.. MNKs can't even afford E.STR 1.
Enliven can be skipped if you are willing to spend gil on Feathers. It is a really weak skill and only serves as a bridge from Invigorate > Enliven > Invigorate. IF the healer isn't dead by his 5th sprint there is clearly something wrong with you as a melee DPS. Normally healers should be dead before the 2nd invigorate.
