Ties that Bind III achievment should reward you with an allagan weapon of your choice

Just as the thread title says. (misspelled achievement due to letter count restraint)

I know some people who have gotten this achievement that have yet to receive their allagan weapon of choice. Don't you think they deserve the allagan weapon they want upon getting this achievement? (considering in order to obtain this achievement, you need to clear turn 5 of the Binding Coils of Bahamut 10 times.)

cmon the top tier weapon. That means your static got 10 weapons to drop. Eventually you will get a Freelot or your main class weapon

Nope. However, a different unique reward would be nice.

Depends on group setup and preference.. though what good is free lot on a weapon for a class you never play? (and I actually have at least one weapon)..

It is an interesting thought though I couldn't see them doing it.. makes its own can of worms with future turns.. some other reward could be a nice alternative though.

I have my weapon on both my main and alt. After 10 kills (or 20 in my case) this stuff is old and easy news. (My group runs with alts and mains) 7 spears going to the same group is just terrible :P conversly we've had 5 blm weapons thus far. 0 swords, 1 axe, 1 book. Pretty amazing luck (I'd even take an option to trade an existing weapon for another weapon of choice.)

And I thought 3 spears was bad.. I'll point my group this way the next time they say something.. ^^; Our breakdown has been something like 3 spears, 2 bows, 2 axes, and 1 each of sch/mnk.

Maybe allow you to trade 3 weapons for a new Random weapon(maybe 2). If you are doing so much that you are saturated with weapons then you should not have an issue with this.

Nothing in this game is worth much so it really wouldn't matter since come 2.2, as per industry standard, anything that exist now will become "low grade" and the net tier of crap will be available to get until 2.3 so SE is going to be handing the stuff out soon anyway.

putting twin on farm is a reward in it's own.

If you think 'nothing is worth much a it will be erased' then why care for drops at all? RNG keeps players. Give an entire party 13 drops every 5 weeks? Gonna see lots of people, at end game, dropping after their initial 5. Heck, i know people that have not even touched EM as they were 'done' before 2.1. (Not BiS but no reason/want to aquire such)

Perhaps resources are best spent creating a game where 'best' gear isn't attainable with virtually 0 effort, whilst commending those that put in the effort. S.E can't handle industry standards, despite acknowledging and attempting to embrace it. 4 bosses this tier? I'm of firm belief people are sticking around because A) They've experienced a tier upgrade and expect similar. Or B) No idea what happens with a new tier (quite a few from my experience as a bulk of the population is XI).

How about a Twintania mount!?

Because this style of MMO is a much more obvious gear grind and it was stated from the get go that every major update all content prior to new content will be "obsoleted" in a way. That makes what you obtain not worth as much as it used to be in the genre.

That's simply how it is and why people were complaining if our relics doesn't get update every update because some of us got them in 1.0 and would have hated to see all that hard work gone to waste simply because they choose to update the game lol. People are sticking around because it's still a very much fresh and "new" MMORPG, unless it was absolutely unplayable from the get go there's no reason for a ton of people to up and bounce this soon - however there's no denying the style of progression they designed this game with.

10 wins and wanting hand outs already. Although I understand, we have 5 bard pants. 3 more and we all get matching pant :D

I think a weapon of choice (because lets face it, people get screwed and if you can kill her 10 times, it doesn't matter) or perhaps a Twintania minion would be cool.

Throw a spear my way guys, I'm getting rnged while everyone is complaining about a oversaturation of spears.

It should give a miniature floating Bahamut head minion that follows you around and screams obscenities at you.

The whole point of tying this to an achievement is a "one and your done kind of deal." I've killed her more than 10 times, no I do not want hand outs, and to those that may take to time to count that, that amount of clears put my group in the first 5-10 groups to clear it. Shes a grind at this point.

Furthermore, the gear will be trash in s short time anyway. in 2.2 it wont be worthwhile, it's how this awful gear treadmill works.

@ the farm statud guy: that would be valid except their is a lockout @ 1 week.

OP's idea has nothing to do with difficulty, if you've killed her 10 times then it's obviously already easy. This is about compensating for bad luck with drops and as he's stated it would be a one time offer.

We;ve actually done really well compared to a lot of other groups. We've killed her 9 times now and we've had every weapon except the WHM and BRD ones. Our doubles have been MNK and SMN.

You have an interesting concept of "challenge" if you think waiting for a weapon to drop, which is completely out of your control, has anything to do with "difficulty". The difficult part is beating the boss.. but you wouldn't know that as according to your achievements you have not yet done it.

So RNG drops are all about skill, you say?

Why don't you use your amazing RNG manipulation skills to win at the lottery then? You're wasting them on an MMO.

For the achievement you need to clear turn 5 10 times. Not just the once.

10 weeks clearing Turn 5 for a guaranteed drop of your choice seems pretty fair is it a one time deal.

I like this idea, partially. How about instead of the achievement just doling out extra weapons, instead, the achievement unlocks a quest where you can trade in a weapon you have for one of your choosing. And then the quest is locked again until you have 10 more wins, kinda like weekly EX lockout, but more appropriate as to the loot in question.

Either way something needs to change on the weapon drops, my group has been killing her for a while now and our last 7 drops have been axes. So yea, it is an issue.

Now even when its a 100% (2x items) drop rate we still bitch and moan.

I really hope they never do this (ever) would make any kind of endgame content irrelevant in no time

FFXI also had this nice item system in place where gear would hardly become obsolete. In that case yes, items should be rare. I was using my BLM AF1 drop after +1ing them in limbus for a very long time. Was also using herald gaiters, for a very long time.

FFXI did not absolete its gear every 2 patches.

Moot point and point proven however with how coil is free farm as of 2.2. No need for this.

I don't think they should get a pick of an Allagan weapon of their choice, but there definitely should be some sort of recognition. I think it would be better to be more vanity based though to be honest (Twintania minion or mount perhaps?) After all if you've beaten it ten times, do you really need the weapon anyway?
