Please Hotfix Warriors and Melee DPS

You make us wait all the way until December for our fix then its not fully efficient.
Warriors are far better off now than they were but are still inferior to a Paladin.

I noticed a post where people are only doing ranged groups and melee dps being one of my favorite roles and my off class I kind of agree.

My main class? Warrior >.>
Like how crappy is it when people don't wanna group with you based on your class?
But I understand, its Final Fantasy's master plan to cleverly trick you into rolling multiple classes by throwing a few duds out there :)

I'm not saying anything major, just a tiny increase of anything would be enough.
I still strongly feel Warriors and Melee DPS are just not on par with other classes.
Also this isn't really a damage issue with some melee its more about avoidance.

The classes aren't the problem, it's the poor encounter design. Making melee a liability limits people's desire to take them along. Even if you were to more than double melee's already buffed DPS potential people still wouldn't want to take them.

You can't really hotfix fight mechanics. I agree that fights should include mechanics for both ranged and melee to watch out for, but it's not something they can change quickly (likely won't change at all).

I would just practice more. You can squeeze a little extra DPS out if you know the fights well!

Calm down and sit down. Warrior is great now. Meelee dps are powerful if you know how to use them right. NERF dragoon running speed I don't understand why everytime I see a dragoon with relic they always run faster and die faster.

Isn't it natural that for some encounters melee's are better and some ranged dps are? i.e Garuda-> Ranged, Titan-> Melee etc.

I'm not really like raging or anything just a little dissapointing. Its managable as is. I just feel like it needs a little more balance not a lot. Melee dps is pretty decent. I just think if they maybe took a little less damage that might help some. Warriors need a little more midagation too just a little. Its almost perfect just not quite there yet in my opinion.

I think it could be solved without changing any fight mecanics or upseting the game balance.

What exactly is wrong with Warrior anymore? Foresight could use a boost to magic def too but is not necessary. My FC groups have never had any issues with Warrior. Melee DPS, same thing, we don't have any issues.

This is more a l2p issues, causing PF groups to exclude certain classes. Warrior is significantly more complex to play than PLD by design and melee dps are more complex to play than ranged with all the different rotations and more AoE dodging. But this doesn't mean they suck, it's just too many players being bad at their job.

Paladins seem to require less attention for healers compared to a warrior
on turn 1 for example. Even if that warriors gear is more than the paladins.

It just as a melee it is well strong to a point., Yet with the design it is to hard to dodge out of the area when mobs are casting and messes up healers and the tanks rotations, from the lag or .1 second delays or something. You see it on both ends when a melee is out side of the red circles and half way across a room and still get hits. So most of the players are just adjusting to the system or gave up on melee in the groups.

People just starting to sandbox it a little.

Yeah that being halfway across the room thing is really stupid.
Keeping in mind this is a Fantasy but tottally unrealistic. OH I hit you with fire but you were 20 feet away, you still die! ^.^

Buff melee any more and you'll see parties with only bard as ranged.

yea, nothing wrong.. you hit harder than ranged because you require more positions and are at risk of being fried quicker, that's the compensation right there.

why do a dragoon die faster? easy...dragoon have the lowest magical defense of the game, and you know what... most of the damage done by boss...are magical!

the melee are powerfull that true, you are right... but you need more work and more skill for get a slightly better dps than a ranged.

a lot of the people full allagan are often people that play ranged class, sadly for a time dragoon and monk stuff was dropping more than other stuff. then people did get stuff for them class fast and after the other did get it.

the trouble is not to buff the class, is make the game more friendly with the melee. actually it's easier to complet content with a group composed like this:
2 pld/2 whm/1 brd/ 3 blm. if they are stuff enough they will not need the lb.

I disagree with you completely, OP

Warrior can tank anything and everything in 2.1 with very close to the same ease as a PLD in terms of mitigation. The only main difference is that PLD has a move that makes them completely invincible to damage for 10s - which is crazy good, but I don't think that's something a WAR should have. We have Holmgang, which is good, but I'd like it if they added an increased healing component onto it. That way when you're knocked down to 1 HP, you can quickly be brought back up to full without the need of a Benediction. On another note, WARs actually have better (or at least more consistent) mitigation of fights where one big hit happens every x amount of seconds (Titan HM and Twintania mainly). A Warrior will have a SP + IB for every DS, whereas a PLD will eventually have to eat a DS without a cooldown available. PLDs, on the other hand, are better at sustaining long, high damage fights, such as T1.

Basically WAR is fine as-is and the only thing they could adjust is Holmgang to make it a bit more useful like Hallowed is for PLD.

Warriors are great as they are. Only foresight needs a buff.

Both tanks are fine, and work great when combined with each other rather than stacking one or the other.
PLD is boring to play, but efficient. Its needs some spicing up and flavor, but not to improve its tanking ability or anything. No, just make it more fun to play.

Melee DPS however, while superior in dmg output potential, still are not desired as much as ranged dps due to them being more likely to die/require more cures/heals.

I'm afraid, knowing SE, they will simply nerf ranged dps... sigh

EDIT: Foresight does not need a buff. It can actually be deleted and WAR would still be fine. its an extra defense boost. take it for what it is. Not all your abilities are going to turn the tides of battle. Some are better than others. Get over it WARs. you're not going to get any more buffs. You're on the frontlines again PROVIDING you know how to play your job.

Except that the ranged classes in this game dont need to be out of range, so again Titan is still ranged, you can have 4 bards stackin on titan and doing the same dmg they would do if they were far and move out in range to avoid stuff beetter for example the super bomb, you wuld be already in position still keeping up dps if you are all ranged, because they removed the <-> distance dmg penalty.
So the game is extremely bad designed for close range dps.

So let me get this right ......

You are not happy with having 25% more hp than a Paladin
Better AoE threat control
A dps option with a combo

Oh our shield doesn't give any defence so you should have the same basic defence as us, just with out the option to boost it like we do with cooldown.

This is clearly a learn to play issue OP

I like melee mechanics. More entertaining, challenging and engaging than mages. I think a better solution would be making it more a challenge on ranged, than easier on melee. That being said.....awesome ranged and awesome melee are pretty on par, maybe a little in favour of melee.

1. Make it so moves like Wicked Wheel have a cast bar but no red circle

2. Give WAR's Inner Beast heal a 600% multiplier, ditch the Dmg Resistance Effect

3. Give WAR's Bloodbath a "100% dmg dealt = 100% dmg healed" effect, but it only applies to WARs

Wicked wheel is pretty much the only thing I can think of that truly hampers melee.. Ifrit Ex you can work around the nail thing just don't take more than 1 or 2 melee along..

Basically i90 DRG and one hit from Wicked can near 1-shot me.. pretty much the only fight I don't both with on DRG since my BRD is also i90. Titan and Ifrit I have fun going either way.

You can quite literally stack two monks and two dragoons as dps for titan ex and as long as they know how to play properly they will always triumph versus any ranged class with the same leveled gear.

Going to completely disagree in regards to warrior fixes at the moment. While I can't vouch for experience much as a melee dps, I can honestly say that warriors are amazing. My advice for people learning warrior or having difficulty with it, is to find a dummy and just practice more.( as with any other job ). Once you become more comfortable organizing your cd rotation and dd rotation, your survivability will be pretty noticeable, as you simultaneously are putting out some serious crit numbers. IMO war is far more enjoyable/efficient to play than pld, talking in terms of a mix of survivability and damage dealing. Theres nothing really wrong with pld. However, I personally would like that some changes be made to pld in order to break up the monotony, but that's a different topic.

Fixed what? Warrior is fine as is. Foresight can use a bit of a buff but I have no problem with it.

WARRIOR is fine, you just seem to want them to be superior to Paladin and that just should not be the case.

i have yet to see warriors one-shot by wicked wheel.


the rest of your fixes would just make warrior stupidly unbalanced.

The game is designed for 1pld/1war/2melee/2ranged/1sch/1whm. Class differentiation.

The real issue is skill as none of the melee in my statics have any issues. Just as with any game, certain classes take more skill to play. Find skilled players and this issue goes away quickly.
