Issues on GP

Regen is soooooo slow. 5 gp per few sec? Sure, that would have been ok when you just started out. But if you're level 50 and you have over 500 gp, it's gonna take forever to get that to max. Now it may seem like some way to prevent people from getting high quality stuff easily, but I think there should be a better way to deal with something like that.

Also can you at least make it that we have full GP when we switch to a land job? It's annoying having to wait on the GP when you have a lvl 50 unspoiled crop coming up soon, and you have like maybe 2 hours left (In game) before it goes away.) At least if we switch inside the city-states

I would be happy with GP coming back at the same level it was when you switch classes. I can see that maybe they don't want you to be able to switch classes and switch back to replenish your GP, but when you are waiting on a unspoiled crop spawn, the current system prevents you from doing anything useful, unless there happen to be lower level nodes that you can farm nearby.

If you didn't gain GP by switching but also didn't lose, we could run some quests or craft while waiting for a node to spawn, and switchback when when the node spawned without penalty. It would be a big improvement.

I think an easy workaround would be to have a percentage of your total GP restored when you're logging or mining rather than a fixed 5GP. They can keep the out-of-action 5GP gain as it is. At least this way there's an incentive to mine over waiting for it to regenerate.

Actually for every successful strike you get 5 points back while mining/harvesting. Still not a huge amount per node though, and I agree that the slow recharge rate for GP is lame.

I wouldn't mind having more gp for a HQ hit though, just give a bonus to it in some way. I would like to see some reworking with GP, because i don't mind how it's used and the regen it has. However, with GP and the skills, it's only a slight thing, which can help mainly on unspoiled nodes. However, for normal nodes it's not very helpful, but is nice to use occasionally.

Yes, but that's a flat 5 GP regardless of your total. My post suggest that it should be done on a percentage instead, so if you had a higher GP total you would accumulate a lot more GP.

But while you are locked on a node the regen over time is turned off. A level 30 - 40 trait that kept it on would help. Or perhaps one that gavy you an extra GP sor each step in a gathering chain. So chain 2 would recover 6GPs chain 3 would net 7 etc.

I hate to "loose" 600 GP to switch to some other class (let's say to repair gear, raise someone or turn in / accept some class specific quests in the location I'm currently in) and then wait around 10 minutes to get it back to 600. What I do now when "wating" or travelling anywhere is to always change to one of the DoL classes to have the GP charged just in case ... still annoying though :( This is handled really badly at the moment and need to be looked into by SE. I can understand a small cooldown in range 10 - 15 seconds top like when you switch to other clases and need to wait for all the cooldowns to reset but this is simply way to much.

I also support the idea of the increased GP regen when HQ-ing and / or chaining as well as having both time and node hit regen for highest class levels.

For a game that stresses, being anything at any time. Almost everything to do with switching classes was handled badly. Everything but actually switching classes, is a convoluted mess. My, Biggest gripes are
1. GP reset when switching, along with the 30second or so delay to use any skills. It hurts you to switch to help someone out with a Raise or to join a FATE. Not to mention DoL can't get a reward for participating, but mobs from it can disrupt your gathering.
2. Having to switch to a specific class to repair anything. along with gear being put back into chest in a random spot. makes something that should be extremely easy and fast. a pain.
3. Armory Chest to small, especially with the introduction of PvP. 8 battle classes x 2 + 8 crafting classes + 3 gathering classes = 27, only have 25 slots. we need extra once they do Vanity slots.
4. No Tackle Box for fishing. with a ton of Bait needed for fishing
5. No pulling crafting materials from Retainers or crafting chest. makes crafting on the go, problematic.

The way the gear set changing is "handled" is messed up so badly! See my (already accepted) Gear Set Bug report and also related Inventory Bug report. Especially the Gear set bug is pretty annyoing as it keeps constantly loading the wrong gear items (incorrect materia set, level of wear or spirit bonding) so it makes my blood boil every time I need to change such affected gear sets now :(

There have been quite a few requests to improve the gear set system, so that it can address situations where you use the same type of item but with different materia attached to them. Below is a comment from Hiroshi Minagawa about plans to address this.

By the way, those of you discussing GP will want to check out the patch 2.15 patch notes when they go live! :)

While it's nice this is being finally somehow addresses what about the level of spirit bonding and / or wear level? Many players are using multiply sets with (some of the) identical items for spiritbonding or as a quick replace of weared gear in the middle of the dungeons or quests - this will not resolve such issues at all.

NOOOO! This will actually make the things even worse - looks like devs have either missunderstood the issue or are simply ingnoring it. We don't want system to "choose" for us what it think is "best" - we want it to load EXACTLY what has been saved to the actual gear set (and we don't care about your poor excuses about increased server traffic load etc.)! If you have one gear (let's say for crafting) with full materia melded for high level crafts and then another set with (some of) the same items without materia in it for the low & mid range crafts and you're also using it for spirit bonding purposes it will never load the set without materia anymore after this "fix". This is a BAD "fix"!! Please do not implement it or at least make it optional in the setings. We're already wasting enough time now by re-assigning half of the gear set after almost each change :( *sigh*

The crafting set above was used just as an example - same goes for any multiply DoW / DoM sets with the similar purposes.

If the gear set holds this information, presumably they can match the item exactly? My understanding of the point you quoted was that where an exact match isn't available, the most melded piece will be picked first.

I did indeed read the whole post a few times carefully and while your presumption would be the most desirable / logical one I'm affraid that alternative interpretation is possible as well:

"We will store the additional data like materia status" AND (at the same time) use it to "apply the equipment tham has most materia in it".

While I most centairly hope for the former after all the past experiences with SE I'm affraid they'd actually implement the latter - though I'd be more than glad proven wrong - maybe some additional clarificatoin from devs about this will be in place here ...

I'm pretty sure it means what he said it means

Which means it will distinguish items based on materia as well and will be able to tell a part 2 identical items one with materia and one without or 2 identical items with different materia

Based on what? And WHAT exactly does it mean actually??

The "key" sentence being "•Additional matching processes for the above information when changing gear sets" the quite (if most not most) "logical" way to read it would be as I've already described above - e.g. the (additional) gear item information saved (info above that sentence) will be used to perform the actions listed below the sentence (amongst others the unwanted "1.Equipment of the same type that has the most materia will be applied" action).

I really don't have a problem with current system. If you synth what's the name "currant" its' a used item that replenish 300 gp (with cooldown). I think it's craftable also...alchemy?

What I find helpful to regain gp is simply harvesting nodes for crystal or just plain resellable/crafting items. You get 25gp/node and can quickly regain entire bar rather than standing around waiting for the tics. I tend to use this after a gathering leve...who doesn't need crystals?

I wouldn't mind a job action that bumps the number of tp return say...double per swing for say for 25gp? Though, this would break the leve challenge somewhat if you could use this to regain gp on regular node and then gather leve node. So maybe not.

Cordial is unfortunatelly not craftable - you can only receive it as leve reward. I also use the shards / crystal gathering to "speed up" the GP regen however even then it was slow and you can easilly miss the unspoiled node if you've arrived later on.

I'm a bit surprised nobody seemed to notice the confirmation of vanity set for 2.2 and that it would work like transmog in wow where a look is saved to an item.

I guess so far they still don't want to increase shard/crystal yields. I know in early alpha/beta you could get more. I wouldn't mind a increase, it would make it less valuable to the RMT and easier to get for us that farm it for our self. I do know it would hurt those that may farm it for gil. Also I kinda wished they were going to reduce the cost of some of these abilities. Its just a tad to high I know a lot of people feel that way, from the previous posts we have had on this subject. I guess in the end I'm just looking for it to be more convenient for the ones that lv both their DoL and DoH to go together, then anything.

1. that GP item is not craft-able, it also can only be used once every 5 minutes.
2. Most nodes only give you 4 harvest attempts. You get 4GP an attempt so most nodes give 20 GP not 25GP.
3. Have you ever timed GP regen vs. harvesting a node? Time wise, they work out to close to the same. Also, harvesting can take a lot longer if there are any Fates near by due to lag.
It just seems faster, since your not standing around doing nothing, watching the clock tick.

Honestly my only complaint with GP is that it's regeneration while inactive is waaaaaaaaay too slow. Yet MP, HP, and TP regen extraordinarily fast in comparison... which is a good thing for those stats.

2. Nope - it's definitely 5 GPs per swing (however your "calculation" is correct - it's +20 GP for 4 attempts nodes).
3. It's Faster for sure - I've measured / tested it myself mainly when the unspoiled node is about to dissapear from the same "start point" I'll gain GP significantly faster while gathering than just iddling ...
