In this game there is no wasted loot! For example our tank in coil is gearing his DRG to full allagan while he plays his PLD. Unlike wow, where the loot is wasted all the time.
Any drops that happen will be useful no matter what untill you have a team with full 90 on all their classes.
Not to mention the fact that you can easily give your alt characters full darklight and a relic, pretty much coil geared with no limitations. All the drops in crystal tower also will be going to alts if the teams don't need it or a class is missing.
I have gear for alts I never intended even making! Why are people complaining about the capability to gear alts? Any myth you spend becomes forfeit the moment an allagan peice drops that is equal in slot. You have to come to terms with that as you go through coil

I have a few other points also you could save myth for 3 weeks! to get a pair of pants or a chest piece and that piece could just drop from coil. Easier than the myth gathering. Potentially it is easily to gear up alts than your main in this game actually depending on drops.
All it takes for a peice of Allagan loot to become alt gear is whether that specific class is missing from the group or the classes that are in the group already have a 90 peice or the same item. -

The only issue is that people will need no matter what. I spent ages trying to get the Foestriker to pas a healer and it was never given to me. :( even a level 50 archer took it when I asked nicely. :/

except for rings and neckglaces I have the full set for EVERY CLASS from AK, And I'm not kidding.
I ran BCB turn 1 on my warrior this week and I got the Shield For my pld and I wasn't even tanking on my pld because the MT had his +1 shield already. So now I have relic on my PLD and already have the shield so don't need my +1 shield which saves me like 400+ myth or w/e it is. Once crystal tower comes out, it will be raining gear.
Keep in mind though that CT is IL 80 and BCB is IL90.
Also we run BCB with a static and we communicate who should get a piece of gear and don't just need stuff. E.g. PLD gave me the shield for my alt because he had +1 and it's nice to be able to be PLD or WAR for various parts of BCB. In another instance a healer might pass a ring because it's a better upgrade for the other healer, etc. -

Yeah, I have never understood this complaint. I would farm AK on my monk to get gear for my Warrior. I would then farm CM on my monk to farm currency for Warrior. I'm not sure why they think they aren't allow to have gear on multiple jobs.

I kind of got lucky, leveled BLM to 50, got full DL for it. Then decided I wanted to go SMN, so now my SMN has full DL and it's Titan weapon. :'D If I was to level a DoW character I'd have a few AK pieces and an Ifrit weapon for WAR. So it's not all so bad, as people have said, just takes time. I like it to be honest, gives me something to do until 2.1 drops.

Then the next day, you get asked to help out as a WHM, so you go in as WHM, but you can't roll for loot now, until the Lockout resets. -

Thus, there is ZERO purpose for the armory system's existence and you're better off making another character for each job you want to play 100% of the time because you get a separate myth cap, a separate coil lock out timer, ~200k gil from quests since all quests + story quests are available again, and don't have to spam boring fates to level.
This game does EVERYTHING in it's power to ENCOURAGE you to play a single job on one character and never level multiple jobs or use the armory system outside of crafting/gathering, this is DOUBLY true at end game.
Please educate yourself and understand the situation before forming an opinion on it. -

I don't think people are talking about dropped gear, it's more of a tome issue.
In this game, we are able to do everything one one character. On any other game you have the ability to gear up every character. They all have their own weekly "point" caps that they trade in for gear, and you could do all of them every week if you had time.
In this game you can totally do the same, you just need to do it on another character. But why? In a game where you can do everything on one character, why shouldn't we have a separate caps for each class? It would literally be the exact same thing as leveling that class on another character and gearing it up on another character. -

So, at 35~ minutes per AK run, you're looking at around 5 hours per Job each week to cap your Myths, since its 8~ runs for Myth cap.
You would need to spend 45 hours a week in AK alone just to get the Myths needed to cap out each week. Meaning an average of 6 hours spent each day in AK just to cap every jobs Myths for that week. Given that it takes 4 months to get a full suit of Myth gear for a single job, You would need to spend 45 hours per week, 6 hours a day for 4 months straight, never missing a day ever. And it would still take you 4 months to get the full Myth set.
And then congratulations! You have all 9 Jobs decked in Myth gear! 2 months later, major content patch, and you start from scratch, assuming the new currencies have the same 300 weekly limit.
And that doesn't take into account time spent doing the Relic lines for each job and the 3 weeks on top of each job to get the +1 for it.
No, i really don't see how having 8 alts for 8 classes works better than having one character with 8 classes. -

I think the people who think myth is only good for the main character are wrong, there is a technical benefit to applying myth directly to an alt while you main prioritize coil drops, because there is less chance of ilvl90 overlap (IE No wasted myth). If you farm coil with a static grp that grp will allow to you gear an alt if they are well coordinated and recognize your desire to gear a specifc alt, its just a simple get in line procedure.
I think you're forgetting the fact that a whole set of gear for one character has the possibility of dropping in one week of coil (Minus interchangeable accessories). You're pretty much complaining about item randomization and you don't seem to be aware of it. There is a potential of what ever character you want to gear having the items drop for your grp in one week alone! and then your are suddenly next in line for next week chance being what it is.Quote:

And if you really really want to farm coil and farm more myth than the devs intended you too, you can do that too. Create another character it takes a few days to get to 50 afterall. Why do people think this is not an option? You're not forced to level all crafts or what ever on each character, it could be just a battle class character and you have your craft character. All these options are quite simple.
