So one thing I would like to bark about is how Limit Break operates, mechanic wise. Now, my problem here is not the cast times of these skills but rather the animation itself. During the animation of lets say, blade dance, if not careful or timed perfectly, 1 or 2 things can happen. 1: You will be hit by a mechanic of the boss that may or may not kill you. If it kills you, then heres number 2: Dying while in the animation of blade dance (or any LB for that manner) will actually cancel the damaging effect of the attack..while still consuming the LB gauge. Now I know this is probably a 1/5 chance of happening...but why even have that chance? Perhaps if we were given invulnerability while the animation itself is going (not the cast seeing how you can cancel the cast just by moving) this problem would go away without, I believe, breaking any other core mechanics and or intentional challenges. That's just basic stratagy 101 friend. You Wait for the perfect moment to fire it. Tank LBs are instent because THEY are suppose to be taking the beating while Battle Dance and Heal Wave are charging to do their thing. As far as machanics go, you should NEVER fire Battle Dance or Star Shower during a One-Shot-Kill mechanic. You obey the mechanics 1st then pot shot the Boss AFTER his attack is over.

When the succubi come in and random cast void fire 3 on different ones on the party, you can sometimes kill the eye before he gets his stoneskin off, thus leaving the boss open to LB. IF unlucky, you can be targeted by both succubi and killed while lbing. This isnt the only scenario but this one is the most recent I've ran across.Quote:

I don't really understand what you mean really. If you understand the fight then there shouldn't be an issue on when you should use your LB. Taking the Haukke example, there is no DPS check in that dungeon. So I don't see why waiting to use your LB would be an issue. Kill the adds, then kill the boss. It's not a hard fight. -
01-12-2015, 04:36 AMKaiser-AceHe's talking about the higher end fights where you can be interupted and killed by soem attacks. Think Scylla and Amon from ST and King Bahemoth from LoA. But normally the interupt wont happpen as long as the animation has already started. And as long as it isn't interupted the dammage will still be delt. (Though dammage is scaled based on how many party members are alive and I've seen a full 8 man party with max health only do about 5% dammage to a boss with Final Haven) So it's all really Timeing, Timing is every thing.Quote:
