My 100% RNG Free 40 Durability 1 & 2 Star Rotation

Disclaimer: This rotation does not work on Two Star 40 Durability without Artisan Tools. It does work on One Star without Artisan, but not two Star. I am not responsible for any blown up Peacock Ore! See my solution in the disclaimer below on how to work around this.

I've seen it said a lot that there's no way of guaranteeing 100% HQ on 40 durability without RNG. I thought this couldn't be right, because my rotation reaches 96% (with Normal on each step) without food as an Artisan (maxed stats). I figured the extra 43 CP from a Bouillabaisse had to provide me with enough to make up that difference as well as potentially improving it further so it worked without the Artisan Tool. I wasn't wrong. :)

I present for the first time on these forums (that I've seen - do correct me if I am mistaken) a 100% successful RNG free 40 durability rotation! It even uses NQ materials. You never need to gather HQ materials ever again! The rotation is also fairly straight forward. As with my other rotations it relies on maximum efficiency for a quick, mass production inspired macro. Manual synthing with this rotation takes just under 30 seconds and the macro takes 45 seconds.

There are however some disclaimers with this rotation. I will discuss these before we get into it.

One Star Ingredient Synths, Twinthread, Rosegold Nuggets, etc

For every single one star material this rotation will always HQ, even without your Artisan Tool. Terrific!

Vanya Silk, Darksteel Ingots, etc with Artisan Tool

This rotation will reach 100% quality on every 40 durability two star synthesis. Guaranteed!

Vanya Silk, Darksteel Ingots, etc without Artisan

This rotation does not work without your Artisan Tool. Sorry! As with all my non-three star rotations this is aimed at mass production once you have your Artisan.

Solution for non-Artisan 2 Star

Simple solution. Use the rotation to make the two HQ base (Twinthread, etc) for your two star synth. Drop the first basic touch from the rotation and use Careful Synthesis II instead. This will reach 100% without any RNG (just!) but it will require the two HQ materials. That's not a problem with this rotation now though!

The Other Downside:

This rotation does require HQ Bouillabaisse for +36 minimum CP. If you meld a CP III materia onto your off hand you can downgrade this to a HQ Fish Soup for +33 and CP +3 from the Materia. You need +36 in total on top of every other slot's optimal melds, so 345+36 for 381 CP and it's up to you where you get it from.

The Final Miniscule Downside:

You will require +1 Craftsmanship on your Offhand, as you do in my100% Two Star 80 Durability Rotation. Go ahead and meld it on because you'll be able to blast through all non-three star synths with 100% success and zero effort using both of my rotations. I recommend Control IV, CP III and Craftsmanship I for your Off Hand. You can add more Control on at your discretion for three stars but that Craftsmanship I is essential to both of these rotations. If you don't want to ruin your delicious off hand, simply make a new one and meld Craftmanship I to it for all non-three star crafting. After testing this a little more it seems you don't require any additional craftsmanship at Artisan level to finish 1 & 2 star in one step. This can not be done without Artisan, so in actual fact this makes this rotation useless without your Artisal Tool.

Requirements:

- If you want 100% every time (this includes two star) you will need fully melded gear plus your Artisan Tool:
-- 392 Craftsmanship, 375 Control, 381 CP which means:
-- +36 CP to your 345 base. This could be either a HQ Bouillabaisse or +3 CP on your Off Hand and a HQ Fish Soup. See above.

- Cross Class skills:
--- CRP 50: Byregot's Blessing
--- WVR 50: Careful Synthesis II
--- BSM 50: Ingenuity II
--- CUL 37: Steady Hand II
--- GSM 50: Manipulation (15) and Innovation (50)
--- ALC 50: Comfort Zone

Remember to check you have +36 CP as described above.

* If you get an 'Excellent' after applying Steady Hand on Step 10, use Standard Touch before Ingenuity II, otherwise your Standard Touch will be on 'Poor' condition. Make sure to use Ingenuity II after the Standard Touch however!
** As with above, if you get an 'Excellent' after applying Great Strides on Step 13, use Byregot's Blessing before Innovation, otherwise your Byregot's Blessing will be on 'Poor' condition. You won't need to apply Innovation if this happens, so skip to step 16 and finish the synth.

The above two notes are important to making sure a Poor condition doesn't ruin your synth so make sure you read them.

You can macro this rotation along with Step checks on the two Excellent interfering moments for a 100% successful macro set for all 40 durability synths. Sounds great, right? Here they are:

If you want to just synth without worrying about the condition on Byregot's, you just hit Macros 1 > 2 > 4 over and over.

Conclusion:

This rotation will help you produce 40 durability HQs with ease. The requirements for melding are relatively high but the money you'll save from never needing HQ materials again will far outweigh the investment. You'll also need all but the off hand melds for your three star synths anyway.

I haven't tested this rotation without Artisan as much as I'd like to. Any input on this will be appreciated! As always, constructive comments and discussion welcome.

You have asked this question countless times and asked Selene specifically 3 times.

Selene has already answered you twice about this.

I would recommend Control IV CP III for off hand. Anything more than that and it will start costing a lot of money. You can add Craftsmanship I on after those two to finish 80 durability two stars in two steps so you can use my rotation for those if you like, or just make a new tool and add the Craftsmanship I to that, since you will still get 100% without that 4 Control.

With practise and an understanding of crafting mechanics you will have a very high HQ rate with 3 stars with just Control IV CP III on your off hand. If you're looking to just mass produce stuff instead, you can use Elesia's Macros. I use them for three star foods and they're very good, albeit not the 'best'. They'll do for mass producing foods though. You should really look to craft manually for higher success with 3 star though.

How would Control IV, CP III, and Craftsmanship III sound for offhand? Overkill?

Not trying to be a downer, but you really need to make your on mind up about this by now xD or at least decide who's advice to follow.

With capped gears, to hit the 3 star min requirements you need to add atleast 3 Control.

Myself and others recommend 3 CP.

For Selene's macros you need to add atleast 1 craftsmanship, 4 control and 3 cp (for the 40 dura ones).

So the cheapest way to do this (on my server atm) would be 4 control (IV) - 3 cp (III) - 3 craft (I), as I said in your other thread.

You can push more control or craft if you wish, but depends how much you want to spend tbh.

In my opinion stat importance (after req's) are CP>Control>Craft, so I would push more control if I want to spend more on the melds.

Sounds good, that's what I think I am going to do, one of each variety. Control IV, CP III, and I am going to try to push a Craftsmanship III in there instead of the I.

Sounds good, but check materia prices, could be cheaper to do 3 control - 3 cp - 5 craft (or 3) - 1 control. or whatever combination.

The extra Craft is currently unlikely to make any difference, but for rotations we have yet to hear about, it could come in handy later on.
