My statement about Square Enix living in an ivory tower is based on their actions and inactions over the past five years. It is clear the devs are in an echo chamber of their own ideas.

unfortunately... there is no healer echo chamber since that one got too good. if its not an ivory tower, then it is certain that they have forgotten where thy came from, their former values and former intentions. I think when Blizzard imploded recently... SE just.. gave up trying to outdo WoW. now they are coasting while singing in their cubicles.... I think thats called flying fat, dumb and happy while they head for a mountain

Anyone else just.. quit the game? With so little content to do and jobs being this boring, it's hard to find a reason to care about this game anymore.

These past few years really eroded my trust in SE. From "If you want engaging healing go play ultimate", "Job identity is coming in 8.0" to "enhanced encounter design" or the recent YoshiP interviews just showing a lack of understanding why people aren't happy with the game.

I just don't have faith in the devs anymore.

I mean the job development team has measly 4 people and you can guess how many of these 4 people are healer or p range mains…………

Wow has amazing farm possible content but if you do the mythic + with random people you mostly end up more angry as before . But I do have 4 friends that play wow and I need too actually have to heal and have responsibilities as a healer and they feel fresh and different in the identity department.

Not sure about phys range but for healer’s, it’s definitely less than a quarter person

i'm officially 100% done with healer after being in this role since the day i started playing ffxiv (stormblood), my static after the 8 reclears of M1S-M4S we were finally done... they wanted to keep me for the next contents but i basically told them that they will need to find a new healer

i would be interested to switch to PLD if i decide to keep raiding but honestly i'm pretty much done with the game for the reasons you said, i'm so burnout by playing the same thing again and again since years... with every jobs i loved being destroyed one by one with their shitty patchs, anyway you just can't release a extension without any major changes right at the start

This game fucking sucks.

There is 4 job developers

1) is yoshi P’s pet developer who always develops his main (was BLM now PCT)
2) is a WAR main who handles all 4 tanks
3 & 4) are melee mains who design the melees

RDM runs on legacy code from when it was made in SB, the rest of the casters, phys ranged and the healers are made by unpaid interns on work experience

I'd say that is a pretty accurate assessment. I think the question Yoshi P. should be asking these job developers is why aren't they making casters, phys ranged and the healers interesting? If the answer is they don't find those jobs interesting themselves then Yoshi P. should replace those devs and find some people who do. People without passion make bad games.
