What you just said now was sexist. idk where but I'm sure it is.

Oh wow really sexism because of some skimpy cloth in a game, really? For crying out loud ever went outside in the summer?
Girl's 14-16 in a bra (boobs falling out) and tight shorts with camel toe.
If women want to whine and bitch about sexism and being "used" maybe don't dress like a slut 24/7. Don't go to bars and show some boobs for a free drink or a meal. Seriously what you expect
Feminism is a lost cause and pathetic.
Thank to Cherelle on Ragnarok server for pointing this out to me, realy interesting that you post about this when you yourself were asking for the swimsuits and here is the link

With all due respect, teaching women and girls to loath their bodies and hide them in shame is NOT a feminist idea. Indeed, it is a very classic misogynistic attitude born from the false notion that it is women's fault that men feel attracted to them. Let us also consider that we are not born, nor intended to be clothed by nature.
It is attitude, not attire which denigrates women (or men).
Of course not, but it is pure hyperbole to claim that the developers have done so.
actually with the feminists they are of two minds of it... go figure some oppose it and some don't

me the only thing I'm against is if it's not tastefully done which these outfits are fine just could use a bit of tweaking. Though I do like the all black concept. (it at least hides the blood) you would be thinking of a more liberal woman or the "hippy" movements where sex or even the body of any human being wasn't considered a shame but something of beauty like in the
Italian Renaissance time period as well. Or even anything before the middle ages where the concepts of it weren't held in too much of a conservative light even then some cultures still had the belief of conservative women, but I'm talking more of like the greco roman areas and such. Hell during days of the Roman Gladiators sometimes the women even fought topless soooo.....
I consider myself a feminist, but these clothes don't bother me. They're an aesthetic set that you DO NOT HAVE TO WEAR. No one is forcing you to. People can dress this way in real life because they choose to, just as people can dress this way in a video game if they CHOOSE to. This gear set is not something ANYONE will wear in a serious setting. Thus, you will never be pressured to wear it for any reason.
trust me I'm a feminist myself though i'm more of a liberal type of feminist. I believe that a woman should be able to do what ever she wants. As long as A: she can do it. B: know's how to do it and C: accepts whatever consequences that said actions involve. If I found that gear demeaning that I would have to find anything that's like that and worse demeaning. Granted somethings I will never wear just because it's not my style but if I had created a female character. I would have no compunction against wearing that gear for the shear ascetic look of it and it is a nice looking gear set though still could have some tweaks done to it rofl... maybe some flames or on it or something
you sir, have put into words what I have been trying to say for quite some time.

Feminism can be paralleled to Religion.
There are those that are reasonably devout and those that are unreasonable extremists/fanatics.
Don't like it - don't wear it.
P.S. STFU
Yoshi P. been playing Tera Online perhaps :D getting ideas.
Yeah, this gear is definitely not my style. I wouldn't be caught dead in something like this, ever... but it still doesn't bother me. It's all about choice. If this was, for instance, the new AF set for a new job... I could see people getting upset because... "Omg, I have to wear this because it's the best-in-slot for me right now... but I look like a slut and I don't like it!" Nope, this is an aesthetic set, and even the more revealing of the AF sets are still extremely tasteful. Again, it's all about choice. No one is forcing you to wear it.
Arguing over how the armor provides protection with such little cover, yet paladins can't parry with a sword because they are wearing a shield.
FFXIV community for president.
I think they should have their fair share of sexy gear and normal gear. This is FFXIV, not Tera. If you can't handle the sexiness, go play censored Tera with the other 12-year-olds :P Otherwise, these armors aren't so bad, they are very different and unique. I don't see it as sex appeal, I am just really glad they they aren't re-skinned armor, which actually elects some value to them and a desire to get them.
Also very glad you can meld to them ;D
Need more armors with bare shoulders

I like the Disciple of War outfit, it looks really cool. Don't care for the mage one but I'm not going to unsub just because I don't like an outfit in game lol. Glad you didn't go anywheres near TERA
I demand maximum lewdness. Someone please post screencaps of ALL races and genders wearing the new gear. I think I've seen dudes of all races so far, but no shots of "lewd" and "trashy" females of non-Miqo'te races.

omg thats sick why would you post a Male on that gear
just to clarify something, my reaction to that gear on a male has nothing to do with the problems the starter of this thread has with the females, I would never ever wear it couse it just aint right on an elvaan atleast, ive seen lalafel or w/e with it and its not bad, Galka or w/e there called now look cool with it, havent seen a hume male with it on, but it just dont fit the vibe the elvaan give, thats my opinion, oh I do have a set of both gears and when I remake as a male Mi'qoe or w/e the spelling for Mithra is now you can be sure as hell ill be wearing both full time, obviously not when doing stuff
its hard to type here /cry, have to explain every little detail so ppl dont get upset over shit, like you know someone will say "lol you wear that for events and stuff" and the answert is no just no I dont
Some real world problems are starving children in Africa, oppression of womens' rights, and famine in North Korea.
Skimpy outfits and sexualizing characters in videogames are not real world problems. What a disgusting comment.
Most women I know have some common sense. They embrace this kind of stuff. In fact, not only do they accept it, they support it, because they don't lock their sexuality up and send it off in a rocket to a distant galaxy. They eat up fanservice just as much if not more than the guys do.
A person of sound mind would not be disgusted by this sort of thing. You might complain it is objectifying the female body, but the fact that a person would be complaining about showing off the female body is hypocritical to that sentiment. You are objectifying the female body by treating it as a thing that should be covered up. That is what I do not understand about feminists that argue these sorts of points. It is ridiculous. Instead of taking subject matter normally like "hey it's my body it's a beautiful thing", they treat it like a sexual object that should not be displayed.
There's a lot of sexualizing men too. If you can't see it in this game you are pretty damn blind. Also, I know some men who are offended by skimpy man dresses, and they're just as asinine.
I laughed pretty hard. XD
Of course it is possible! It happens all the time. It's pretty ignorant to think it can only be one-sided.
Just an example to show it can happen (though unrelated): My father is very sexist towards men. If he sees a man show any kind of emotion he picks on them and calls them girly/wimpy/unmanly.
Men DO get treated with sexism for their appearance as well. Just like women do at times.
I have a huge issue with sexism of any kind, but I just have to call bullshit on this..
SE is not being sexist. The outfits are equally showy for both sexes and have NOTHING to do with objectifying.
PEOPLE objectify people. Outfits do not.
@OP: You're not going to have a constructive discussion about these outfits on here. Speaking to them like they should understand institutionalized sexism, objectification, and other basic feminist concepts will just end like it did here: a bunch of kids derailing. I mean, look at this:
They think their father is sexist towards men because he calls them women. They seriously brought that as evidence of sexism against men. They don't even see how that's sexist towards women. There's no way you'd be able to explain the difference between a man in a video game wearing a skimpy outfit and a woman in a video game wearing a skimpy outfit; they just wouldn't get it.Quote:

I found the solution. Replace all gear models with this for females.

actually by their father doing that it is an act of sexism which is defined as a oh f- this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexism
read the first paragraph.... that defines sexism and yes another man calling another man a woman or whatnot because they show emotions is sexist because of the stereotypical man being macho and butch and doesn't show ones feelings
also from there

Assertive women; for example, are called "bitches," whereas men who lack physical strength are seen as "wimps".
