Provoke has no effect on FATE mobs or hunt marks.

I'd argue that it does in fact have an impact.
But when your dealing with 1 vs Many...the many weighs far more in terms of of the "algorithmn" in use concerning enimty.
The same mechanics that judge what awards are given out.
In short - Parties are going to win the fight every time....bonuses/buffs/etc.
It's foolish to solo anything.... so Provoke works..but its a waste of time if you are not in a party. As it renders it wholly ineffective.
As i've observed - you may get a "red bar 1" in your solo party world....but your still at the back of the line when the Party has the "A" red line on theirs....and likely will hold it due to Party weight.
Because the game has spaghetti code and even repairing or adding simple elements are the challenge to fight, like more glamour options on character customization. xD
I've run solo for Ixion a couple of times and gotten credit. I received a reduced reward from what it would have been in a group but it was still a gold reward. When I did this I was playing a pure DPS class. If you were playing a tank class you might not have gotten credit by doing only DPS. Do you have a DPS class you could play?
100% false, the amount you contribute, in a world fate like this DOES NOT change if you're in a party or solo, the only thing that would change is unnoticeable increase in your stats for being in a party.
and to the person saying this is an MMORPG? please, that's why he's killing this boss with another 500 people and most likely contributed to it as much as the next person, but rewarded with NOTHING because he wasn't labeled in a party, this is utterly ridiculous and none of you should support this kind of system.
EDIT: What's actually happening is the FATE system in this game sees 1 party as a single person, but adds everyone's else contribution into your own, you can, IN FACT contribute less in a fight with 500 people but gain more than someone who contributed more because you abused the system,
that's why even if people go afk while the rest of their party contribute, they are still rewarded fully, like i said, ridiculous.
I think "because mmo" is a copout answer. You're working with a lot of other people in a zerg situation whether you're in a party or not. It's not a meaningful party relationship; typically people will spam asking for an invite then drop party right after hunt is dead.
Seems more fair weighing individual contribution instead of whatever the random people you were paired with did. But if we aren't encouraged to form parties then it's less likely for non-healer players to receive healing or res, which is the best reason I can think of to remain the way it is.
Regarding solo players seeing different results: the total number of players participating and the amount of time the enemy is alive are factors in how much you're able to achieve before the end.
