The problem is that the devs haven't shown any inclination to actually ramp up the frequency of incoming damage to an extent that warrants more use of GCD healing.
It's just heavier mitigation checks if anything most of the time.
I'm not strawmanning, I'm being logical. People are asking that they not have to hit 1 button over and over to do damage because it is boring. Either you add new gcd damage skills, probably not more than 2 because they wont introduce that many new skills period. So either your spamming 1 skill and mixing in a couple more buttons rarely or you are 1-2-3 your way to victory. Since the main complaint has been boredom, one would assume you want the 1-2-3. Adding dots or oGCDs doesn't fix the boredom issue, and to be fair neither does 1-2-3
Because we know what is making healing uninteresting and square refuses to do anything but double triple and quadruple down on it
The problem is the massive bloat of oGCD’s and the low encounter damage, what did square do in the expansion after these concerns first came to light - gave us 2 more oGCD’s and further reduced damage in favour of mitigation
We discuss this as well, like 2 pages ago I argued indom should be nerfed or removed so that SCH should be forced to rely more on succor, this is part of our discussion, it doesn’t start and end at the title of this thread

but regardless if you had your nuke, a DOT, the current oGCD’s you have then another GCD that has a short CD (say 10 seconds) that can potentially proc an oGCD you get 3 charges of you can store that would be plenty for the job, because again we are also in favour of spending less total time pressing a DPS button because we like skills like dissipation and ED that force a choice and make you spend more time potentially GCD healing

And I don't appreciate the same terrible argument from someone who make a negative amount of effort to understand the stance they are arguing against, makes a mockery of that argument by reducing it to "a 1-2-3 combo isn't going to help" which is the most inaccurate, out-of-touch perspective you can possibly have on what players like I and others have discussed, and parades that disillusioned stance as "logical."

Healers in FFXIV spend 80% of their time dpsing and 20% healing.
Apparently this is peak gameplay design by the so called ffxiv forum/reddit "healer" community..
Since they don't complain about this .. they just complain about lack of dps rota, more dps abilties.. ect
