Sorry, but Content deal finder again.....

Just curious if the devs are ever considering cross world linkshells

1. You use content finder to get in some random party to do one content.
2. The guy/gal you met at the party was fun to play with, good at his/her class/job so you guys/gals become friends
3. From next time you can use PC search to invite that person from other server but only way to communicate is after inviting that person to the party since you can't send tell cross worlds (maybe might be possible in 2.0.. who knows)

pretty sure character transfer isn't going to be an option available every time for people like these to be on same server but if it's cross world linkshell would be able to chat, ask if anyone on other server wants to party up

Except if it's in the open world, it's not an instance. You think they're redesigning all of the maps just so you can walk around in them? No, there's going to be lots of content for them in addition to the instanced stuff.

Also okay, so the content finder exists. How does that stop you from meeting people on your server? You're dooming it before it's even out because of the mere chance someone you know might want to use the content finder. God forbid, that would be the end of the god damned world. You might have to meet someone from another server! How horrifying! I mean you say you want to meet new people but you're afraid of people from other servers. Or you could just tell your party that you'd rather not use the content finder and you'd rather meet people on this server instead. There are ways for you to find like-minded individuals, you're just closing your eyes to them so you can justify hating a completely optional feature.

That would be nifty but imagine how anoying it would be when you need to do something in the actual server and you say.

"Hey guys anyone want to help me farm some ____?"

Blizzard have something like this, RealID, so you can chat and communicate with people playing on different servers and even different games by the same company.

As far as I know there is no way for you to specifically party up with those people but technology and programming is always making progress so maybe there is some way to do that on these awesome new 2.0 servers.

I think it would solve a lot of the issue people have with meeting new people and not being able to make friends with them.

I think the content finder is a decent idea it will certainly benefit the ps3 users who are going to be a year and a Half behind everyone else

The arguments about how it will ruin the community is an BS argument. I have seen some of same folks who oppose this say " It would be cool if you was on my server so we could play together" Also making a pug group with content finder wont be any different than getting a group through shouting or search system, it's just another way to get it done. I had plenty of pt's in xi and i only made as many friends out of it as i wanted to, same thing applies here to content finder.

The thought never occurred to you that levelling in a dungeon is a viable option, did it? Also it's something they're considering. Meaning they're going to test it out. For all you know they're just going to instance entire zones for people to level in, instead of making the whole game instanced. That's hardly something I see any real MMO dev doing.

Why do so many of you think it's cool, awesome etc. to personally attack people on the forum? I won't name or quote anyone specifically, since that would be counter-intuitive to my post but...

I personally have no problem arguing for and against instances, Anima, content finder, whatever...but there's no reason we can't all be adults about it. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, whether we agree with it or not. If you are respectful and you listen, maybe you might learn something new! My parents taught me this when I was but a wee Wincy. :)

Especially Rokien, geez you all give him such a hard time. And I usually never see him being anything but peachy sweet in return...

I've posted this in a different thread... SE should not give us this feature until way after the re-release of FFXIV.. when FFXIV is saturated with content. Otherwise game play value.. will die.

Well, according to their PDF it won't be available till around march 2013 so hopefully by then we have a decent amount of content.

I think Level Sync Keeps old areas useful and I like partying with noobs.. Helps me make sure they dont suck when I have to play with them at higher levels.

Heavy instanced = I have to stand and wait for repops or some shit because a Korean RMT keeps killing my quest mob from the .0001 percent chance it drop some corn which will sell at the AH for .1 gil each.


Bad Community = I don't shine as a great upstanding member of the community

Instant airship = I have to waste my valuable free time on simulated transit rather than actual gameplay.

Anima<insert another way of teleportation here(I just don't want anima)> = Don't lie you hate teleport for everyone, you just want to limit teleporting any way you can, we've 3405093845 topic of yours on it....why teleporting anywhere any time should be allowed? SEE ABOVE REASON.

Instant Boat ride = See above above REASON

Aggro indicator = Noob rangers/blkmages and any other gung ho all out Leroy jenkins Damage dealers will allways and forever ruin your party and make you fail instances repeatedly Wasting your valuable time repeating content uselessly rather focusing on actual gameplay

Exact level of mobs = SEE ABOVE REASON

Level sync = I can't play with my noob freinds once I level all my jobs to 50 without spending another monthly fee for a new character. Besides i wanna play MY character, that's why I made 'em :)

Content Finder = Becuase waiting around for 4 hours shouting for a party would waste my valuable free time in simulated waiting rather than playing actual game content.

Speed runs = Everybody would constantly go AFk in instances making one 30 min run take 4 hours an waste my valuable free time standing around instead of playing actual game content.


In short.....

Waiting =/= game content.

My NM experience in this game:
A friend and I went to hunt some NMs that had some gear we both wanted..
We claim a NM which was a bit of a challenge at our levels at the time.. we were enjoying the fight, and then a group of level 50s who were impatient came along and killed it without asking if we wanted help. ._.
Then they claimed it a few times.
We finally got it again, and they stole the fun of any challenge and defeating the monster ourselves, by killing OUR claim again and again. Even after they were asked not to. >.>

Besides NMs, Any open-world dungeons will be made into instanced... So I really wonder... What challenging open world content will we have left? There's not anything that I can think of. Unless they make it so people can't kill your claims and they add more NMs. :\

If there ends up being no fun/challenging open world content in this game then I'll just lose interest in it fast. I need a balance of open-world and instance, like FFXI.

I miss the FFXI NM hunting too ; ; It was fun to get claim then have a buncha people standing around waiting for you to wipe..only for you not to wipe AND get the drop haha :D But idk everything feels so easy mode in ffxiv. Hopefully in 2.0 they will have a somewhat similar system with challenging NM and fix the weird claim system.

Stage one has started, make open world content instanced. Keep it coming SE!

While I am sad that hamlet defense is instanced I understand the current servers/code sucks and it might not be possible in 1.x.

However, I would like to know if there are plans for plentiful open-world content (alongside instanced) in 2.0.

It really just makes the massively multiplayer part of massively multiplayre role playing game actually come out.

Technically, if technology easily allowed it, most MMORPGs wouldn't have had distinct servers/worlds at all.

So Call of Duty is an MMO now? There's like 30 million people online, and you can play with any one of them by using the game's content finder to find which instance theyre in and join. It really puts the Massively Multiplayer back into Call of Duty. Who knew?
