that's what i am talking about actually.
the old tank you had 5mil hate abilities it felt like and each tank played it a little different. now all tanks use the same abilities because that's all that's offered.
cnj could play as a nuker or healer so it wasn't stuck into the single role of healer. with things like debuffs/buffs/heals/nukes/battle regimens each cnj you ran across played differently. now they are all just carbon copies of each other.
thm could heal/nuke/dot/enfeeble and they weren't just casting either fire in a combo or thunder in a combo. the class took the choices and took them down to you play this class exactly this way.
pug you had multiple different ways to build tp with pummel and it's combo base attack. the best thing pug did originally was it was a fantastic class to use with the incap that the game had and the battle regimens.
mrd i do feel like has become much more fun to play than it was originally. to me it was just too slow originally, but i feel like the changes to it has made it a much more fun class to play now over what it was early in the game.
lancer i feel has also improved over what it was originally. it was more fast pace originally, but i feel the abilities now have made it a much more viable class and more strategic and that i do like alot.
archer i loved originally. it seems that it is almost the same speed as it was originally, but with the skill revamps i feel that it's abilities are lacking now compared to what it had at release.
i just feel the class revamps didn't need to be as extreme as they were. i like the defining of the roles by the addition of jobs, but i feel like when they changed the classes the way they did it got rid of the good aspects of the armory system. the classes were meant to be jack of all trades and they have became a job without changing the names. to me the classes should have been toned down some, but not completely holed them into the exact same role that their advanced job was. the classes needed multiple ways to be played because they needed that second fall back to role to be able to allow for the second job per class(example thm with dot's and nukes).
I remember a time when you couldn't recover MP.
Yeah, thank god that time only lasted like 2 months of the game's life and the game is now well over a year old and bringing this up is totally not a red herring to distract from a problem by browbeating people into feeling guilty because it was much worse for you back in the day like you're some kind of old man who lived through the German bombing raids of London during World War II....
that's not mentioning that was back when even the big spells cost was below 100mp to use and there was multiple ways to recover mp back then. back then there was things like siphon mp that could just about completely recover your mp from empty to full. if you ever ran out of mp back in those days you were pretty pathetic honestly so there was no reason to need mp recovery.
