yes you are, you are trying to use the current description of Sentinel to prove Sentinel is going away even though the current description is incorrect.

My point remains, the effect of the old and new abilities are not the same, wheather on not they call the new ability Sentinel or not doesn't really matter, and weather or not you do anything with your weapon when using sentinel today doesn't really matter. What matters is that when you use Sentinel today, it doesn't add more emnity; when you use the new ability, you will gain emnity. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, AND WILL NOT PRODUCE THE SAME RESULTS.
I don't think anyone really cares about the enmity. The defining point of sentinel is the insane damage reduction. If the new Gladiator skill has similar insane damage reduction, then for all intents and purposes, it is the same skill.
Oh, one more thing - sentinel does actually generate enmity. Just not a lot. It's about 40 points of hate.

So does every other ability, in fact 41 is the average so it adds no more emnity than the average ability in essence nullifying the effect. Unless you actually believe that they would add that to the description when the new ability generate average emnity. In that case, you win, I'm done as you won't listen to reason.
I won't listen to reason? All I did was respond to your statement:
Since it technically does, but not enough to matter at all.
Besides the main point of my post was to show that the defining characteristic of Sentinel is the damage reduction. Regardless of the hate generation boost, if it still reduces a lot of damage on Hellfire, people will still use it.
That's assuming it doesn't make the mages wipe, which is something we can't safely assume at this time. After the patch, if we see that the enmity generating effect is so weak that it can be ignored and used by a mage, then sure everyone will probably use it on Ifrit. But until we can see the actual enmity generated, that's not something that we can assume. The simple fact that enmity generation is mentioned in the description leads me to believe, however, that it's not going to be safe for the main healer to use.
To assume is to make an ass out of u and me.
regarding the enmity effect of the "new sentinel" it doesn't matter how much enmity t generates the tank will still have more given he also used the skill. The tank probably used the skill 10 times by hellfire. Ive seen people argue this so much and it doesn't make sense. I can go a whole fight with others being red and not accomplice them and still not lose hate.
