I can understand why people don't want to level crafting just so they can repair their own gear, because you need to get several classes to 50 in order to repair everything. If you don't have a lot of gil, that means spending a lot of time doing something you don't enjoy.
Allowing another player who has levelled crafting to repair your gear would fit in lore-wise and benefit everyone.

Another option might be something similar to the repair robot in WoW. I'd love the option of being able to craft an allagan repair node which can be summoned in an instance, with a really long cooldown so it isn't abused, of course.
However, from the way the thread has gone so far, I suspect something like that might be too convenient for a lot of people.

It was so nice to finally level all those crafts to repair all my gear. I love to have that perk, even when your not a hardcore crafter like me.

You don't have to craft a single item to level up a crafter.
just buy the needed items for the leves or Grand Company from the market board or from NPCs, whatever is cheaper.

exactly this is what is missing

If your inventory is filled to the brim with glamour. Why not just carry slightly less powerful gear incase it breaks? You're taking zero steps to correct your problem. You should evaluate yourself not expect the game to adapt to you alone.

I've never once had my gear break and I played FFXI and wasn't use to repairing gear.

If you're walkin around in 220 gear. Keep your void ark, ESO, or even Gordias gear on the side to switch to. Ya you'll be a little weaker but manageable.

DC universe online had a thing where if you wanted to repair in dungeons, you could pay real money for an item that lets you spawn a repair bot, basically an npc that the whole party could access for repairs ( and I think a few healing items, I forget.)

For me the only time repairs have been an issue is when the party is wiping repeatedly, usually when learning an instance. Nerfed stats are kind fun though so I don't mind too much.

I've seen people freak out when their gear drops to 70% or something though. They're all like " oh god my gear is 72%, abandon abandon!" I don't understand those people.

This used to actually be a feature in 1.0, until it was removed for reasons yet unknown. Either way, I support the idea of both having a means of repairing your gear at the entrance to each dungeon and being able to request repairs from other players.

I have all crafting jobs at 60, and I feel the reduced repair costs make it more than attractive enough. We don't need to make repairs so difficult for other players who just want to level their combat classes. Besides, the number of times I've been in a team with someone who breaks their weapon are innumerable. It would be a godsend if they could repair their gear just by backtracking to the entrance.

Not sure why people are against a repair NPC in the dungeon at the entrance or something. Some people just don't like crafting and when I say some I mean majority its just not fun for most people and saying this gives them a reason to craft isn't really helping because they would need to do something they don't enjoy. There is a reason most MMOs don't bother investing so much in crafting because they know not many have a interest in it and you can already see SE is trying so many ways to make people craft but it just won't work.

I don't want to sound rude but OP isn't asking for everything from a crafter you already make 220 gear so you should be happy you earn money that's all crafting is really for in this game making money. When someone wants a small feature from crafting people get angry some reason when its something so small why even complain about it? People give the excuse that they need to do battle content to craft and when I see this I facepalm. The game is PvE oriented and crafting is side content so you would need to the main content to do side content its only logical =_=. The only time I actually "crafted" was in SWTOR because I could continue what I was having fun with non stop but have my companions do the crafting for me which I personally liked.

Even though there is a repair person in the dungeon having crafters would still be beneficial because you get it free. People who dont have crafters need to pay. I don't see any problem here just seems like some crafters need to come off their high horse always happens on this forum. It's like the meld npc thread where crafters said it helps being social which is just a bunch of non sense its hardly social.

You don't need to craft something

People who think Npc in dungeon is win win. Really are being selfish and putting on blinders. There is a cost to anything seemingly positive. Have to see if positives out weigh negatives.

Non-crafters see no problem with dungeon repair because what's the difference between just before or during? Still dumping Gil.

Crafters see you as someone who wants to take any effort they made to obtain a perk for themselves some people often doing things they don't want to. I didn't want to level drg but I did it for blood for blood.

If you want Npc in dungeon you're undermining other people's hard work. I worked for my blood for blood. You should too. These crafters some of them not even crafters leveled to 50 just to self repair. If you want it that badly you know what you have to do

Adding a repair NPC to dungouns is something I fully support.

Currently, the benefit of being a crafter for Repairs is that you gain +100%, up to 200% of the item's durability. Further, it can be done -anywhere- : on the field without going back to town, or in this case - it would be in the dungoun without going back to the beginning.


There's really no reason to demand people be crafters. I can't understand the shortsighted and spiteful "I did it so you should too." attitude displayed by some of these people. Some people don't enjoy crafting. And crafting should be kept out of combat as much as possible (The extent being what we have now - useful for progression but not required. A side path, with exclusively crafted glamours to gain value.)

I'm similar to others. I've seen tanks that had to drop in order to go repair. They often ask to be kicked because they don't want a penalty. This wasn't such a bad issue before they made it so you can't re-que. Now if the mistake is made, the person is screwed - either eat a 30 minute timer, or get kicked knowing that your comrades are left less for your lack of presence.

I'll still happily kick them if they ask. It's the least of respect to do.

The perk for having your crafters maxed out:

+Able to repair anywhere (I.E., not in towns, on the field, further into the dungoun)
+Able to repair 100% up to 200% of an items' durability, giving it a longer life than those without crafting.
+Cost, I believe, is lower for using Crafter repair than using NPC repair, thus is a net savings for the crafter.

The only benefit that is taken away, is this one:
+Able to repair in dungoun

And I'll be honest, that's less a benefit and more a glaring design flaw. You're being shortsighted if you don't see how making it so someone can wind up stuck in a duty with no way to fix their gear is a problem. I would also support the cost being 2x (Not 10x like someone suggest, that's just overkill) for a dungoun repair.
