I talked to chat support today and I got the awnser why its not working and that is becaues it is aparently not compatebal from what I understod I will post some of the chat here. Hope this helps some of you out that and Im disapointed that they dont have a way to go around this.

SEE Agent Paul B.: OK, unfortunately that is not possible. To turn a version 1.0 into Collector's Edition, you must use the Digital Upgrade, which is in Mogstation, and costs less. The full game you bought would have to be used with a different account, or returned to the store for a refund, I am afraid.
SEE Agent Paul B.: Or you could add a separate Service Account, if you have a friend who wishes to play under your SQUARE ENIX ID, at the same time as you
You: oki why is that then? that seems like a really weird way to do it and not to tell us about as well??
SEE Agent Paul B.: I do not know why this was done this way. It is a technical limitation of the way the codes were produced. I appreciate your point about communications, but unfortunately this is the situation as it stands.
You: oki so there is no way to get that code to work with a 1.0 account then?
SEE Agent Paul B.: The only options are to pass the game to a friend, have 2 games on your account, or get a refund. If you had bought direct from us we could do the refund request, but if it was from somewhere else you need to put the request direct to them.
You: Is there any way off transfering carakters as of yet from one account to an other one?
SEE Agent Paul B.: No, so even if you registered Collector's Edition on a different Service Account, you can't put the character on to that, sorry. You would still have to upgrade the first Service Account with the Digital Upgrade to get the Collector's Edition content on that character. I am very sorry about this technical limitation, as I know what you are trying to do appears to be a very simple thing."
Well... for me this is ok, i bought at their EU Store, but im still waiting for a reply at any of my tickets lol. Since im spanish i cannot call them beacuse this would be more difficult to handle for me lol. The only thing i can do is keep waiting a reply, damm....

Classic SE. It's broken there is no fix. We don't care about your business, you can get a refund if you want but we have no desire to put out a quality product that works. If your not a customer in Japan we don't care about you and your only option is to quit because well we don't care. I bought the CE for in game items which now I can't use. But honestly I can't get that upset because at least SE is up front about how they don't care at all about there customers as long as they do everything ok in Japan.

they are still busy with trying to make sure people aren't locked out of the game sadly.

Response to my request to fix up this mess from the Support Centre.

We are sorry to hear of your account issues.
Unfortunately, as you already have FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn registered to service account 1, it would not be possible to move the game from service account 2 as it is not possible to have two copies of the game registered to one service account.
The option you would have would be to use the digital upgrade service on service account 1 or create a new character with the Collector's Edition content on service account 2.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
So according to SE's response it seems lots of people just got screwed for buying the boxed copy of the CE if they already had a FFXIV 1.0 standard version of the game.

personally, i think they should take our CE codes then credit us the digital upgrade. then make it known for future buyers that they cant use the physical CE for the 1.0 account
here's another suggestion!
Since the whole server thing fiasco has been going and they were promising some free week of compensation, how about wrapping up all the other issue into one fix.
All players that had early access get to choose one of the following thank you gifts:
- free account upgrade to CE
- free character transfer to one of the new servers + 14 days free
- free extra month on current server.
How about that?

they most likely will have free transfers to specific servers just to balance off the populations but i highly doubt it will be to any server, probably just to the new ones only.

I'm with you all. Got same problem with CE PC version of FFXIV: RR.
They just fuc...........k us all with no butter.
If they dont know how to fix it they say just buy digital upgrade.
But fu....ck face i bought a CE about 4 months ago and it wosnt said that will not cooperate with my account that i got.

I thought it was just a glitch, but apparently I am wrong. SE really is screwing me over.
I bought CE 1.0 and received the Onion Helm as a reward (yay)
Game goes down and I use my account (which obviously is a CE account due to the Onion Helm).
I install the game and only receive my Onion Helm. I put in a ticket because I thought there was a mistake. Why would I have to pay for a CE upgrade??
You should receive all 2.0 CE items too if you registered a 1.0 CE account. You don't any new code.
You can check to see if something happened to your account, some people had their account divided in two with all 2.0 items in a second account.
If your having issues send a ticket to SE's support... :(

Still waiting on my ticket...phisical 1.0 CE and registerd at 2010, well, reight now, no 2.0 CE items, no 2nd account, just like a 2.0 standard account. What the hell SE doing? SE has no one focus on this issue,
So i called gamestop customer service and they gave me another pre order code and the psn store or account management redeem codes.. won't accepted the codes so i can get the Mog Hat and Cait Sith Doll... it's become really stressful not getting my pre order items.
Finally sold my C.E. key throught ebay. Thank you so much SE for a great customer support :sarcasm:.
End of Story.

i just decided to make 2nd account with mine who knows when se will get back to us and who knows if server xfers will ever come.
Last night, I was tried chat support for this issue(Not in US right now). 1:01am, over 150 waiting.... 3:00am chat support told me there are no agent avaliable and cancel my waiting.......WTF.....
I have to say it kinda sucks that us 1.0 players who supported the game and wanted the CE edition is getting cheated out of our money. I don't see why we can't just enter the code that we have into the mog station to upgrade the account.
