That's why the last thing we should be doing is joining these Discords and encouraging them to continue doing this with completion numbers.

We got tome relics as a second step because they looked at how many people completed Mandervilles because it was just tomes. They threw a bone to those who didn't like tomes with just the first step. They care about completion numbers and pay attention to those statistics. So if we really oppose this design, we should shun it.

Boycott The relic and let the tower fall like the tower of babel it is. Divine punishment.

I'm right there with you. I've lost track of how many times ive done on the hunt for Oracle to not only still not get it 2 weeks after but my friends who did it first try got it. The RNG and Drop rates in this are a joke.

Whatever your opinion of the discords is sniping spots doesn’t benefit anyone because the discords aren’t stoping you from pugging puggable content they are trying to organise people through content that’s explicitly NOT puggable by randoms. You aren’t sending any message to the discords other than being annoying because you sniping doesn’t change their position because this content isn’t puggable. Square also doesn’t care because they won’t even notice this type of interaction because it doesn’t flag anything

If you hate the discords that’s fine but the problem is the entry requirements, not the discords feeling like they are the only way to make it viable for people

You're angry at the wrong people.

When discord groups organize this content to be cleared, it's because the content won't be cleared without some form of organization, and a public discord server that everyone can join and get clears in benefits everyone.

People are getting mad at "snipers" because the only reason anyone can currently get into forked tower currently is because the discords are organizing it. It's similar to the idea that if someone spawns a super rare S rank, but then was unable to get credit for it because someone killed it before they could get there. That's not entitlement, it's just kind of basic fairness.

You are of course perfectly free to organize a run mid instance, "the discords" would more than likely respect that and continue searching for a new instance to join. But when people are just piggybacking off of other people's effort (in this case the effort of organizing 48 players and coordinating them all into the same conditions,as well as providing resources for people to learn the fights faster and get clears) I'd say that the people acting "entitled" are the ones saying "you should just be carrying me despite the fact I couldn't even put in the effort to queue for line"

And I don't want to come off as unsympathetic towards people who have really intense so ial anxiety and don't want to join a discord community full of strangers. That sucks, and I think everyone agrees that FT should have had an entry system and and difficulty similar to castrum/DLL, made a separate queable savage version. But that's on SE, not the people going out of their way to allow the most amount of players possible to do the content that's otherwise not being done.

Square makes the dumbest systems imaginable and the big brain geniuses on the forums start complaining about other players, like they're the ones who coded the stupid ass entry requirements. Half the posts make me think that they don't even care about doing the content and they just want to complain about Discord servers.

I'm not mad at the groups organizing to do it, because that is the only reasonable way to succeed (though my own experience back when I finished Eureka years ago and tried to do BA wasn't very positive). But I will say that if people "sniping" runs cause those attempts to wipe and fail, that's still entirely the fault of SE designing it this way. Quite frankly I hope the number of people attempting this, much less clearing it, is far below their expectations because that's the only thing that will cause changes.

If I recall correctly, Eureka Orthros was also 'standardized' to fit the same mold as well (and was one of the biggest complaint amongst many other). I guess they're sentencing every other contents into this EW/DT raiding veterinarian practice for whatever reasons.

it doesnt seem good enough to chose this over something that makes the farming go faster / more stable.

That's punishing the wrong people. The fault for why Discords think they're entitled to claim this content is because SE's design allows it. This is entirely at SE's feet. We don't need to bring in more toxicity toward each other. SE isn't going to see the numbers of people in a Discord. They will see completion numbers.

That aside, it's typically the main tank who pulls that uses Ph.Thief. Their main method is kiting 5-8 mobs a pull then hit Swift towards the end of the pull so that all mobs will be bunched up together trying to AA the main tank to no avail while the rest of the party bombard the crowd to death. No invuln needed. A healer or two is still required to keep them healthy while pulling. Otherwise not much of a difference vs the invuln circle j3rk strat but somehow less restrictive because that alleviates 4-5 slots that's typically locked to WARs/tanks.

Are discords that "think they are entitled to claim this content" in this room with us right now?

It is not casual delubrum normal raid where you can just go blind into trap and get ressed afterwards wtih 100% chance of clearing even at giga slow pace if you have bad players in instance. You need specific amount of specific phantom jobs to clear whole raid. You need at least 6 tanks just for tank busters etc. No it is not even 4th savage floor grinding teeth week1 in pf type of a content, you just need a lot of preparation to enter.

Their own design creates an issue where sniper can mostly just grief raid out of tank/healer and some phantom job (since sniper is entitled to play phantom sam you know). Sniper can also just wipe entire raid either for fun (trap) or oops i only watched first boss guide. Not to mention that getting entire raid in instance is pain for no reason.

If anything, "casuals" should storm square everywhere in internet for no normal raid version and no 48 man alliance pf system for forked tower. ( just the latter tbh would have solved instance prog and allowed EVERYONE prog this content already)

I'm enjoying it!! :) I have yet to do the forked tower (and not sure if I ever will any time soon as it might be too hard for my taste), but I love the phantom jobs and the whole concept/fantasy of the whole place is just fun.
- The ability to sync with people to still earn Knowledge XP/job XP is a massive boon for cooperating with people.
- Being able to swap your main job on the fly and your phantom job is just so versatile!
- The zone itself is pretty to roam/look at and not having to worry about limited casts of abilities like logos feels nicer to me.
- The addition of open world chests very much encourages roaming around every now and then to get goodies.
- Having separate currencies for regular monster farming and CEs/FATEs means both are necessary for your progression so people would engage in doing both as opposed to just one or the other.

One of the downsides right now that I can think about is that I must've leveled knowledge a bit too quickly and now the weekly challenges are a bit pointless except for the bonus phantom job XP.

I know it might sound really controversial, but out of all the three field ops, OC is probably my favorite. <3

I agree Forked Tower requirements are as shitty as everyone else thinks it is but you can't blame discord servers on this, because i can promise you your average pug is not going in and clearing this. I don't know why they couldn't have made a normal version to go along with it.

It's not really Discord's fault. It's the team's fault for thinking content like this was going to actually going to work with most people.

I am curious, where does this actually get into play? Fates and CEs are knowledge level agnostic, and gold farming is usually done at lvl20, and even if people wanted to farm mobs at lower level and take advantage of that sync, they'd still have to deal with the chains breaking all the time when someone levels up. On top of it, people just go for CEs and silver coin content (which is knowledge level agnostic) precisely because that's where their atmas drop from.

It seems like this (and a lot of other things like slow on time mage, stun on samurai and a few others) was designed in a way that it was imagined that people would kinda move around and feel out different things, chaining single mobs with odd level arrangements and using any job they had available, seeing which mob could be hit by what thing and so on which is actually kinda how it worked for like 2 days before everything gold coalesced around canoneer and tanks rendering field utility useless

But it's the thing, that didn't even work anyway. I got into the content with the relic quest. Nobody was farming mobs and I wasn't gonna either.
If those stupid atmas also dropped from mob farming I'd have immediately shifted to this to level up with knowledge lvl sync (even with the broken chains at level up), no question. Those fate trains were one of the most miserable experiences I've had in this game so far.

The content is boring for high-end raiders, and yet its way too grindy to be considered casual.
There's multiple layers of RNG on top of eachother.
They don't explain the overworld chest system which is going to lead a lot of people to grind mindlessly and hit 12 stacks of phantom mastery with 0 Atherspun Gold which means they can't get +2 gear

I like the CE's and am indifferent to the loss of the CE queue system, I like the gimmick (phantom jobs), I like Forked Tower as an instance and I like the aesthetics of the zone.

Everything else feels like a downgrade.
The lack of a normal-level open dungeon to end the zone with, the lack of duels, the lack of levelling and Forked Tower's entry system all just feel like baffling decisions. Having fates only spawn one at a time with all of them being boss fates felt weird too.

Imagine if they implemented duels with giga toxic rng system from bozja, it would be hilarious. Force people go to specific spot, put something like cipher (like priority in bozja), sit for 3 minutes in fate location only for system to not pick them (so they waste time, item and silver from potential other fate they could have done). While in bozja you just interact with ui and run around in zone.

In before someone try to defend devs with "ooooh duels would have been better there". They literally copy pasted BA portal, i am glad that they went lazy with duels. (i dont hate duels idea, i just hate rng to get in)

Genuinely feels like your usual daily reward, f2p mobile game. The only fun thing in there is watching all the Splatoon/Paypal Legends die to CEs over and over.

My issue with some of the phantom job abilities is that so the enemies you fight are immune to so much of it. Mind you, I get that when I have my DoW/M kit, I have maybe 20-30 abilities to choose from. And some tiny fraction of those are useless against some enemies.

But when your "job" in OC only has a few abilities and the enemies are immune to any 1 of those, we have 25% to 33% of our "kit" that is rendered useless.

Of course, I get that not every enemy we fight in OC are CE/Fate enemies, however, the reality of it is that players spend a LOT of their time doing CE/Fates. And those enemies tend to be immune to those status effects. Why give us these jobs if they can be useless as often as they are? Either don't give abilities that they won't allow a boss to be weak to... or change the abilities we do get.

It is only moderately better with open world enemies in OC. While gold farming, some enemies are immune to paralysis, stun, etc. Why make a job's kit reliant on these status effects if so much of what we fight is immune to it?

I'd rate it an 7.5/10. Good start, but needs more.

Things I like:
- CEs are fun
- I prefer PJs over Logos/Lost Actions. Too much choice is a bit overwhelming to me and being non-consumeable is a big plus encouraging me to actually use them, along with less RNG (please let people sell their extra Oracle/Serker/Ranger drops)
- Gold farming is some silly fun
- Area is beautiful
- Coffers add a nice little bit of excitement to traversal.

Things I dislike:
- Lack of dangerous areas. Even at high levels Eureka was fraught with danger and encouraged you to enter them repeatedly to spawn NMs (Cassie, Louhi, Crystal Dragon, Penny etc.) OC plays it incredibly safe. Following from that...

- Lacking social aspects. Eureka encouraged a lot more communication and had a nicer culture. Work to spawn NMs, communicate which were up/down, the sense of achievement by spawning them and the nice bit of downtime waiting for people to arrive. OC is so fast paced and on the rails that it's just a constant FATE/CE zerg rush. People do talk, but there's no real "culture."

- Rewards are lackluster. No Cassie Earring/Blitzring or general useful items from the chests/CEs is disappointing. Getting Cassie Earring was so memorable and exciting- they need to have these rare drops from CEs to give an extra bit of motive to farm outside of just EXP/Silver imo. Also getting decent weapons/armour aside from the silver sets would help mix up gearing.

- Forked Towers implementation. Think this is a mix of the community being too reluctant to try harder content and the fast pace/instance size of OC discouraging people from doing so. A bit frustrating that people clamour for non-homogeneity and call the game too easy and then balk at content that tries to answer those issues.

I've only gone in there for 2 or 3 hours a day (and skipped some days). A casual player could do that. And I'm nearly done with the CE grinds and have all the Atma... 3 weeks is about all it takes at that pace.

Main Wants:

• Gamewide: While in activation range of an aetheryte crystal, you can teleport to aethernet hubs by clicking them on the world map.
• Gamewide: Increase the status effect caps by at least 10.
• Allow for phantom jobs to be swapped via macros, e.g, "/pj b(a)rd", "/pj sam(urai)" "/pj next", "/pj back", etc.
• Reduce exp requirements by ~20%.
• All Phantom Job buffs of your own are now passive and compiled (e.g., with a different ID for each combination, so that if you have learned the buffs from every job, you'd have that all in one buff, but you could also have just a certain one or three or five or whatever), but you only apply your current Phantom job's buff to others. Buffs received are now likewise compiled. This should greatly reduce the burden of status effect limits.
• Gamewide, status effect limits increased by ~50%.
• Remove EXP loss on death. Like... why bother with this?
• Make individual mobs more interesting, with fairly predictable but only subtly telegraphed attacks and more openings to take advantage of, both; lower HP but more threatening. No immunities except DRs, which should let up faster than normal. Nerf tanks so they can't just cheese what all threats are added, and maybe even have some mobs reset or ignore Enmity or calculate Enmity differently (then attempting interceptable skill-shots against healers after getting pissed at their healing others, for instance, so that tanking isn't just a matter of being a excessively sturdy dps with otherwise dulled-down gameplay and instead actually needs to thwart enemy offenses).
• Make mob farming viable, both for general knowledge-/phantom-job-leveling and Atmas, etc.
• Add intermediate special mobs generatable from farming a given area, between standard and FATE boss difficulties.
• Add special missions or "Echoes" -- pseudo-FATEs that only your party can interact with, a la Battlecraft Leves but where player and mobs involved therein appear distinctly... ghostly(?) to avoid confusion. Some of these must be manually triggered once unlocked and may describe the challenge before teleporting you to a given starting point from which point they act a bit like Guildleves / a sort of mini-scenario. These typically involve challenges beyond the basic "Defeat boss" / "Kill X mobs" / "Collect Y items" / "Escort NPC Z".
• Between the above, it should be more of a loss to leave an area to go to a distant CM than to just finish off the requirements to trigger an Echo or two before leaving.

And ideally (though this is definitely in pipedream territory)...

• Add some treasure maps and some optional but intersecting questlines related to them.
• Add hunts, in the sense of rare mobs that are usually found only under certain conditions (and may even require you to find tracks, survey certain areas, etc., in pursuit of them) to get people moving around the map if they don't want to FATE-farm, farm a certain area, etc.
• Add roaming NMs, some of which may attack players directly after they meet certain conditions, with hidden received-damage scaling from players or unique "incapacitation" conditions to keep this from feeling like an unfair death. (E.g., one may swoop down, instantly finishing off your prior fight and then begin attacking you, reducing most to "Incapacitated" until the party has fully "fallen", survived long enough, or has warned the NM off.
• Add Expedition Resources. Different areas/NMs may drop different Essences, ores, artifacts, etc. as temporary slot-less currency that may be contributed to the larger expedition for others to use (granting you a portion of the EXP given by the tasks the resources contributed to).
• The Expedition or even individual parties may create devices and conveniences from the above drops, such as Chronoresonators to increase the frequency and difficulty (and therefore reward) of echos, campsites, Camouflage, maybe Warpstones (tuned to a specific Aetheryte to register and be pulled into CM for that region only), Analytical Tools, Everlasting Glowstones, Linked Spells, etc. (Probably for later zones only.)

People already use autorotation and some sort of bot/script to do boss fates.

Met 2 players standing still as war in one place using tomahawk 24/7 and move only when aoe under them (i assume scripts can interact with splatoon since movement is robotic).

These are unreportable valuable customers btw, boring grind content made for boring people doing something better than playing ff14 while playing it, like chit chat in discord.

I went to a pot-fate and didnt see any other player. Yet the mobs were pulled, tanked and got debuffs from an invisible player. The mobs had no player that they targeted, they just kept attacking the air and the air "fought back"

when the fate died, that invisible person got a pot, which also went invisible after ~1 second of chasing him

The instance only had 2 people which were tank + cannoneer inside, so it was easy to asume, who the bot was. Still very cringe

Well I finished job mastery on all the phantom jobs, so I think I'm about done with OC. I have almost everything from the shop, I have all the aetherspun silvers I need to upgrade a set of gear, but I find gold-farming to be completely uninteresting so I can't complete that upgrade and have nothing to use +1 gear on anyway. I don't do any of the game's higher difficulty content so Forked Tower goes in the bin with BA and DRS of things I'll probably never see. And that's it, there's nothing else to OC. See ya when they add more jobs.

JESUS. I have 1 PJob at max and one at level 5. I am level 19 and have all but 4 Demiatma. I feel like I pretty much no-lifed that content for the last week.

Just how much time did you spend in there?!

Man does it to feel bad to have all but the 3 demimateria from the SW corner of the map. Having to do fate after fate, ce after ce in all other areas and get demimateria from them over and over again, but have absolutely none drop from the one area that I need it from, and the only area with 1 single CE, since fate drops are abysmal both in and out of OC.

The NEED a demimateria conversion, 2 to 1 or 3 to 1, idc. This system is just stupid and just makes the normal grind all that much more frustrating and like you are being punished more than anything.

This is more or less the issue that I guessed would've coming after couple of hours stepping into OC in day 1. The current goal is to get all the 7 gearsets and +1 all of them at the very least (I'm halfway thru that right now). But said goal was set because I've noticed how every incentive in OCs are pretty 'one and done.' Outside the new umbrella, I don't find much item that can be marketed to keep myself interested to come back in even after attaining all gearsets at +0.

FTB style of entry and presumably the difficulty isn't really my cup of tea. I very much prefer CLL/Dal styled of raid I'd do them in a heartbeat even if they reward you poorly like in their inception. So that's a big no from me, until maybe they softened the raid somewhat in future. Maybe...

If this is Bozja I'd probably go back to keep farming fragments. OC have nothing of similar.

I had an epiphany and realized if this is anything like Bozja I can just go back and do forked tower after the content is fully released and it'll be easier due to access to more jobs, gear, etc.

I found my last atma outside doing Fates in DT areas, it was not too bad, like 5 hours over several days.

This has been the approach I'm taking too with the tower. I'm in no real rush to complete it so I'm just going to wait until there's more job and gear options, less instance prog, and the discords have streamlined their process/slowed down so there aren't 20 runs going all at once.

I was gone for 2 months, and it still took me 2 weeks after OC release to even bother logging in to try it out. I'm not sure if there's much good to be said, the entire thing is mid at best. So far here's what I noticed:

- They tried to recreate Eureka without the cool parts, aka no sense of danger.
- Fates spawn back to back so fast that there's very little room to breathe
- I noticed CE's spawn always 3 minutes after the last one has been finished, and that somehow gave me a sense of FOMO.
- Atma grind is meh, it's a one time thing anyway, after that it's another tome spam for the item
- Communication is nonexistent unless people are complaining about fates dying too fast and not waiting like in Eureka, lfg ce/fates or res plz
- CE's should've been like in Bozja, something you queue in rather than run there.
- The fact Forked Tower requires a premade like BA or DRS is criminal and a missed chance for it to be like Castrum/Dalriada or just normal DR.

Overall I give it a 3/10 rating, phantom jobs are pretty cool and just makes me wish all jobs where that dynamic rather than the slop we have.

I'll keep playing it so I can max out the phantom jobs, but I feel already exhausted and I don't even do much in the game either.
