Weather Icon is on the top edge of the mini-map. and I'm sure they reworked the Targeting system alot.

Anyone else notice the Sun/Moon symbols around the minimap? I believe they move! The sun is in a different spot in these two pics:

Yes.. Yes!! Nice find.. I didn't notice that!! Yoshi-P you sneaky little :D. I love you Yoshi-p! He understands this logic.. its the small things the matter the most! Just like the Delivery Moogle and the Chat bubble thing! thats makes this feel like FF! :D.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it in the last 15 pages, but there is no buff icon for "Light Party". Maybe it is being condensed to everyone getting the innate buff, no buff at all, or simply not displaying the icon anymore. I think its worth mentioning that the BLM, in a "Light Party" has about 200 more HP than the average 'Full Party" BLM.
Would you guys rather the graphics stay as they are right now and keep this busted ass engine?
They said the game would look different once the new graphical engine was in place, deal with it. That's a major reason why we're going to be able to recreate our characters in 2.0. Honestly if you thought the game would look exactly the same dispite them openly saying it wouldn't, then you're not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Actually ffandmore had to take down the screenshots
would be awesome if someone have a copy :( and could up it for forum purpose
Maybe they have hardware tesselation option would make the whole thing different if they, current SS is with hardware tesselation OFF... don't even know if MMO can use hardware tesselation but just saying...
YoshiP did say they are making it so low specs can play the game but for those hardcore going all out on hardware they will let them customize to max settings so pretty sure the images shown at E3 were for PS3 standard settings imo.
For those that don't know what hardware tesselation is go download heaven bench mark (bit old might have better tesselation demos with other benchmark software) and play around with it, I was amazed by it when I first tried it out lol.

You guys just enjoy the damn SS and stop bitching about the texture for now... we haven't seen everything yet.
Why are you all so unwilling to see any negative light? If there's an issue then I'm more than happy for it to be addressed. Ignoring potential issues (Like the graphics looking worse than they do currently) is just damaging the game in the long run.
Be positive sure, but stop being blind.
The word blind is often misused on these forums, as well as Troll and white knight.
And ignoring the fact that the developers have previously stated that they run the program on standard setting and take pics at that setting rather than on the max is somehow less blind? Why do you believe they have completely changed this long standing precedent? There's being objective, and there's being obtuse.
See, the thing also is 'looking worse than they do currently' is also relative.
For one, I don't think they new graphics look worse at all. Maybe it's my glasses, maybe my own graphic card, or hell it might be just my own attention span. But I couldn't notice a single portion where thew new screenshots have anything, even textures, worse than the game I run right now. Heck, if I strain a lot I might even be able to notice but the other effects like the non-1000000candle-lamp lighting effects and overall better usage of color make it vastly difficult to care about it.
So, thing is, most people you see here defending it are mostly just trying to make you see a reason to like it because THEY don't see a reason why it's negative.
And we're 27 pages in and NOBODY has been able to link this quote. If you want people to stfu so badly that you keep on posting about the 'haters' just go find the link, post it and watch what happens. If I had the link, I would. I've even tried searching for it without success, just so I could see if it's true or not. Cause believe it or not, some people have a hard time trusting people on the interwebz.
Stop running the game on low/medium settings I guess?Quote:

Dude, that message been on dev tracker months ago. That's hundreds of posts. Excuse us if we don't have another life just to find it
ps: that's the problem. Some of you. Then you look at people like ingolf and bobbygunz (aka gifthorse, the most reticent troll from alpha until now, every time banned and still around buying the game again every time) and turn angry. With a good cause

Be careful when wielding axes. It might lead to dismemberment.
Apparently. If you disagree with someone you're a troll. If you point out any flaw you're a hater and if you try to justify your arguments you get flooded with people saying that you're 'entitled'.
I hate the fact that the XIV community (especially on the official forums) is considered one of the worst gaming communities out there.
You seriusly understood what i said? I said DEV TRACKER, aka spoken by a DEV, not an internet pinco. And that' months ago, hence it can't be found easely. If you're so unwilling to trust some people on internet, take a lot of your time and search it. It's there, but covered from hundreds of posts
Good god, it took me one god-forsaken hour. Thank heavens work's pretty much done for today.
There we go, finally found out where the hell Bayohne mentions they don't run at full specs. Click the backlink to check the post he's reffering to, it's kinda big.
You missunderstood me, you saying it's there on the dev tracker holds as much value as the people who said that the miracle patch was confirmed for release. And yes, give me some kind of info about what the post was about and I'll try, but searching every post for a small line that says "The screenshots we take are always on standard settings" is a bit vague.

What Normalforce said.Quote:
I was saddened by the thread title, and I was going to reply, but normalforce pretty much said everything I was going to. The teaser was created to be used on the small scale, and not intended to be used at the full size. Our players wanted to see it larger, and we were lucky enough to be allowed to show it (even though it wasn't taken with the bells and whistles on). That's pretty much the long and short of it.
That was in response to PR ineptitude about lack of AA in their promotional shots.Quote:
Do they get the latest, top-of-the-line, hardware or something more moderately priced? And then how often should those computers be upgrade?
If the dev team has been working on this for the last 4 to 5 years, it stands to reason that most of them are still using hardware from that long ago. I doubt every dev is running this game on the highest settings possible. That's not to say that some devs don't have a machine capable of doing exactly that, just that this image wasn't produced from one of them.
The shot in question.
The same problems that exist in this blown up shot exist on the new 2.0 PR images. Aliasing and low-res textures all around.
I wonder when people will realize that aesthetics are much more important than graphics.
The build you are looking at there is an Alpha build. Make of that what you will sir. No clue if the screenshots are on a platform or PC. Also the article I got this info from says they are watching it on a laptop. I am not sure if the screen shots that were given are from the same source but they could be.
This runing on a laptop could be close to what ps3 specs would be no?
