No trailer at E3 LOL @ SE

I think the bitching is to do with the fact that the trickle was to start next week. The flood is now to start in August.

Its disappointing but I'll gladly wait 60 more days!

I think it can be read that we are going to have to wait for the flood, the trailer and more information will be coming out in August as they do their advertising push. It could be read either way that is why it would be nice to have confirmation on what will actually be shown at E3.

I think they are not showing this cause other companies and showing something that will top FFXIV, maybe more WIIU or even PS4 or the new XBOX, we don't know, there should be a logic why they're holding back.

He went across whole of US/Europe to just do Magazine interviews, why would he not do it at e3 when its easier and cheaper as everyone is there?

The way I see it, the unveiling of it to Media via interviews, the interviews will have "information" for us, then we will get the promotional site, then we wait till august while that site gets updated time to time with new info and gameplay.

I hope there is gameplay at e3, but i am very doubtful right now.

People say dont get your hopes up, others saying there will be this and that, giving us hope, then giving us expectations then saying dont have high expectations, but expect this that n the other, then some say wait and see but there will be xyz, its like when patches come out n people talk about details and others go "why not just wait until its out then we talk about it!" same people talking about this before e3 has even arrived.

The trailer which is what everyone was waiting for. Nobody cares about any more artwork.... SE's games never looked like the artwork and XIV is a good example of that. As for the interviews, nobody care about that either. He will still tell us the same thing as in the past interviews about how the work on 2.0 is going well and how amazing it will be and that we should use our imagination to see how good it is...

I have a question for the reps if they have time for it.

Up until now, Yoshida has been saying that after E3, information regarding 2.0 would be released "in stages". The most recent E3 letter, however, said that they're holding back the trailer to release "a flood of information" (presumably later). Does this mean that we shouldn't expect new information regarding 2.0 at regular intervals following E3?

For instance, previously I was expecting to see new 2.0-related information, screens, etc., once every few weeks from E3 on. Does the new approach mean that (aside from whatever you talk about at E3) you'll be keeping a lid on 2.0 until August (or later)? Or can we still expect regular 2.0 reveals starting with E3?

FFXIV 1.0 had an amazing trailer and look how that turned out. Considering FFXIV's history, I don't think that another fancy CG trailer is going to convince many people to come back. A flood of actual, concrete information about the game will be more convincing and enlightening for everyone.

How about that everything pointed to a bad trailer for E3 yet pple where all pumped up about it. Now what? We got no trailer at all. Yoshi-P went all over the world to do interviews with magazines and even small fan-sites. Why would he not go to E3 just for an interview? XIV is not on SE's list and SE is not hyping the even at all so obviously everything points to there won't be anything to see at E3 for XIV.

Now you show me how the letter is saying that we will have something even more amazing then a trailer and how we will see gameplay and tons of 2.0 content.

Who the **** is watching or cares when some website pops up other than us.
E3 is when everyone's watching,
and getting them to watch in August would take one helluvan ad campaign.
That's both brutally expensive and stupid, given SE should really, REALLY,
have enough to be prepared for E3 by now ....

Of all the things SE could have done this really frustrates me, they really need to stop with the last minute changes they really could have told us this as soon as the meeting was done

I'm sure they have a good reason for making us wait another two months, but it's really hard to say that I'm not feeling a little angry and disappointed that they decided to do this out of the blue, just days before the original fabled unveiling date. And it's also really hard to say that I wasn't totally counting down the days until E3, waiting for that 2.0 trailer to tide me over for another few months until release...

Also, in what way would not showing the 2.0 trailer at such a large scale event like E3 help them? That's the only thing that kinda boggles me. It's not like they wouldn't be able to "flood" people with info still after unveiling the trailer, assuming the finished one they have now is the same one they will show us in two months. Ah, well.

I was already starting to lose all interest in this game. I was thinking to myself E3 will get me all hyped and into it again. I just can't be bothered any-more. It is just constant disappointment, It is depressing. There are better games I could be playing, they just aren't FF but then neither is FF XIV and I am doubting it will ever feel like FF. So if it is Squares intention to just drive people away then they are doing a really good job.

I really don't see anything about that statement saying they will show gameplay. Until a rep gets back to us with an official statement saying they will show some gameplay at E3, i'm not expecting anything but an interview and more artwork.

I hope you're right in what they mean by that. I'm still going to watch E3 in hopes for any new info on the game if not that though. See I'm not even certain of "we'll get a ton of info just not the trailer". They specifically said they're going to hold back on information so that they can have a flood not a trickle...that really doesn't suggest we're getting much in terms of 2.0 news at e3.

If they keep up this bait and switch saying they will do one thing, than do way less than the opposite of it I will have full reason to drop my site and just move on to GuildWars2 and related items to it.

As it stands because Excalibur player's don't want to do anything but the damn hamlet I can't get a Garuda party together let alone any dungeon and I've tried for weeks now >.>

Working now in the graphic arts/programming industry it means even more. Tell a client the project will take 2 weeks and cost $1500. Finish it in 1 and charge $1100. They are so farking happy they recommend you and you get more business.

Yoshi didn't promise a E3 trailer he said one would be there and PR said it would be better to show it @ this time. No i don't praise everything but These forums are shit. I think Hamlet is terrible and i thought seal rate was terrible but they fixed that I think their one shot boss mechanics are shit also and my favorite one to hate is the stupid fkin primal drops.

All those things are legit things to hate, I'm not gonna bash a company for doing what they think is best for their game and not ppl who know nothing about marketing. I'm also sure some nerd who is clearly lying sitting behind trier desk is gonna say they work in the marketing field.

Also If they lost 1000 of you and gained 500k more i'm sure they would happy with their losses.

Edit: Also i don't think the game will bomb i'm just saying if they don't market it correctly who cares if the game is shown @ E3 or not because then it wont be a game to play.
