Well this certainly is good news for the second character I plan to use.

Does that make it any less lazy though? How does anything you just said prove her wrong? lol
Anyway, I wonder how they'll handle any subsequent classes. I mean, in this case it kinda makes sense, I guess, since guilds had been established for ever and it should've been in the game since long ago, but what about future ones without a guild? I hope they won't just pop out of nowhere after you just equip a new weapon.
Eeyore strikes again with complete disregard for another post explaining myself!
I don't see it as lazy, I see it as an extra tidbit of new content for the 1.0 players for when 2.0 starts.Quote:

As for the "massive cop out" they wanted to try to balance out the DoW and DoM classes, so far there are only two DoM's to start. I'm glad they are providing more starting options. I also agree that with a future expansion if they decided to add in new classes that having the guild in a new city you would need to go and earn that class. I'm fine with that, in fact I encourage that. But for this single new job they are adding in at launch of ARR, I'm glad its a starter.

For Arcanist I expected *something* other just being able to use it right away willy nilly. Like a short quest explaining the origins of the role or anything kind of along those lines. I suppose all the other classes are available from the start and new players would maybe wonder why they need to do something to unlock one and not the others but still.....
You didn't need to unlock any of the other classes.....Classes are basically weapon changes. It would be weird to have to LEARN how to hold a.....book.
You'll have to unlock Summoner.
After all the work they've done and you're going to accuse them of a "massive cop out"? Give me a break. Show some appreciation.
