It is not that simple.
For example, China requires semiconductors but US government is trying everything they can to deny them access because of trade war.
This is why China also starts to want to take over Taiwan so they can take control of TMSC for semiconductor production.
Once they gained TMSC, all major US giant such as Apple is going to be in trouble.
They have way more money than billionaire but it doesn't mean money can buy anything you want.

I also seeing immature company about SE being a billionaire company, but ignore the fact that is just a number including fixed assets, not their cash flow.

The issue over compensation is overblown. Assuming you have the Entry subscription (which is all you need), you're losing 43 cents (USD) for every day that you cannot access the servers. The queues have been long, yes, but i haven't seen a 2002 error the last two days. So, what, we're looking at 5 days of 2002 error, so we're concerned about $2.15. I mean really. If you're worried because you lost $2.15, you've got much larger problems.


That said, I agree that 2002 error is unacceptable. Long queues? If you've been around long enough, educate yourself, you accept these as part of expansion launches. You can't escape from it. So I don't care about compensation from Square-Enix, but I would love an assurance that the 2002 error will never happen again.


Also, honestly, I haven't been disappointed often with S-E, but the company being too cheap to even buy / rent cloud servers to reinforce the login server is just so irresponsible. Yes, you don't want those servers reinforcing the game servers, but virtually all the animosity would be gone if they had just used them for login.

I don't need compensation. I never experienced errors logging in or while logging in. The max queue I've experienced was about 50. This takes about 2 minutes. I'm thankful I can choose when I work :P But I think if people are in line for 4hrs then they should just unsub for a few months and wait out the storm. There's nothing that can be done at this point in time except wait for them to be able to get more hardware. It's not their fault there's a shortage and millions of players from other games suddenly decided without warning they would flock to this game. lol IMO the proper solution really is for people to wait it out. There's no need for them to compensate players for time that cannot be used anyway. Demanding more is entitlement.

You "can" do anything you want, but you shouldn't. Everyone is dissatisfied about the situation. If it actually makes you mad at SE, then quit. If you're not willing to quit, then you're not actually mad.

I'm happy to wait as long as it takes.. it's worth it.

This company care, they aren't locking you out of the game for fun and I'm sure if they could fix it right now they would. I have only been around on and off since just before Shadowbringers... and compared to the lack of service/content in WoW these guys are angels.

They worked through the pandemic, and the one guy even continued to work from the hospital while battling cancer!

No other MMO developer on the planet has these type of disconnects while waiting in the queue and lets not pretend Classic WoW did not launch just 3 years ago or New World less than a few months ago.

We have recent example of this not happening with other game developers and they did not blame the chip shortage. Queues are whatever but disconnecting people for a 2002 error than resetting their queue position is a serious issue.

I just want to understand, you're a lvl 90 Paladin, that went through a rather long msq and other content[excluding queue times]..and yet u complain you cant play?

The reason I can pretty much tell you this is going to happen is not the queues which noone really cares about because compared to other MMO's these are actually pretty quick. The real issue is the unstable client side connection to those servers causing random D/C's and resetting queues.

That error is 100% on Square Enix to fix that is severely affecting all players of the MMO across all regions. It is especially brutal in EU that has very few servers and data centers compared to others. There are some players that due to scheduling and time available to play who probably have not even gotten the chance to really even log in due to these disconnects.

Just get the one month out of the way now or 1 week to alleviate the rage of quite a large amount people and deal with the backend issues and provide frequent updates.
