It requires a fine toothbrush to make the barrier of entry better, and doing so is fine, but you can't then destory the complexity that give jobs identity or enjoyment of optimizing. You do that... well its just a class made for new players, not worth dedicating to it as its not rewarding. Both tanks and healers are suffering from this. Some of the changes were fine to get players in... but they didn't give anything back to chew on.

Imagine if any other role in the game only essentially had 2 core damage abilities from lvl 4 to lvl 80.

No one would (or should) accept that.

Well, the thing is, they could add more to a healers DPS kit without increasing how much DPS they contribute.

As it is, due to much of the healing being taken care of by oGCDs, there is a lot of time to DPS. Instead of casting one spell for 100% of their DPS, that spell could be broken up into two 50% spells, or three spells worth 20%, 30% and 50%. Pretty much anything is better than spamming one spell. The healers that are stuck spamming 1 spell will feel better having more spells to cast, the healers that already don't touch their one DPS spell will continue to not touch their other spells.

As for the topic question: I speculate job adjustments will just be potency changes. Like at the end of SB the big WHM adjustment was just increased potency. Massive gameplay changes are rarely (if ever) seen mid-expansion. That stuff comes with expansions.

I've no problem with healers doing maybe a quarter less dps than tanks. Why should our damage kits be so 1-dimensional and worthless? The assumption this HAS to be the case is absurd; the fun in healing comes from balancing healing with off-time dps/buffing abilities. Honestly, that's why I've always loved the role...now I have to force myself to play the SCH whereas before I enjoyed it.

Our jobs are absolutely boring right now because Yoshi-P was 'so convinced' pure-healing healers were exactly what the game needed and what people wanted...

Well, Yoshi was wrong!

5.0 healers are the worst. The SCH is bland and basically has no identity (still can't believe they murdered Selene and basically just copied her into Eos--so lazy!!).

To new players, unless your keen on pressing 1 button over, and over again I don't even recommend playing the game. It's that boring/bad.

I switched to Astro just to have something to do, even though I said I would never do it. It's not much more to do, but it's better than Scholars one button rotation in every damn situation possible.

It's my recommendation to any and all getting into the game for the first time, DO NOT play Healer, you will legit burn out before level 30 before you realize you have access to all of your damage tools since level (8?).

It's absolutely f***ing mind numbing, and if I weren't in a raid group right now, I'd likely switch to Summoner or Red Mage and never look back.

The conflict can be summarized as the dev team wanting to go the 'pure healer' aesthetic while the game design is made for 'weaker DPS that happens to heal sometimes'. Healer design is flawed to the core.

Yet pure healers seem to have tried to force their mindset on us. You know damn well if they could've given healers 0 damage spells this expansion they would have done so it's only due to healers need to progress msq that we even have what we have.

We even had to beg to get energy drain back something that had no business being removed but was.

Repose as niche as is rather than actually working with it more since all healers now have a sleep decided 1 quest is enough to justify taking it from Whm.

Unnecessary removal of Collective's Stun

More ogcds that are 100% unnecessary outside ultimate even savage doesn't need all of them. Heck I did E1S/2S/3S without using any ShB skills as a laugh and I healed fine enough without them.

SE very clearly wanted to emphasizes healing and the way they did it was 100% forcing a playstyle onto people they didn't want and the players have bit back whether SE learned from it is up in air as they have notoriously ignored healers existence since 5.05 live letter.
