Define 'more fluff'.. vague statements will get you nowhere. You make the replies posted here sound spiteful and unprovoked. 'Attacking' is such a strong word.. I prefer to think of it as 'rightfully denying'.

DoL was not brought up in the OP, and since I haven't even picked up a single DoL weapon in my time playing the game, I can safely say it doesn't matter to me, so why should I care? Regardless of how I feel about them, the crafting and DoL classes are heavily involed in materia crafting, a character enhancing system equally beneficial to all classes. Let's not forget the recipe overhauls, changes to gathered materials and gathering point levels, simplification and fine tuning that is constantly happening too..

And look what I found on the planned changes between now and 2.0, it took me all of 1 minute to find!

Yes, I was actually trolled in-game by a couple people from message forums. I don't know if was from here or from other forums. Apparently some people really can't handle a differing opinion. Or, it was folks whose BS I'd called out (there's so much of it) and they couldn't "get back at me" in the forums without their post being deleted or the account being suspended.

So, in order to play in peace, I removed my character ID from all forums... at least for now. Once they activate subs and those who remain only to troll no longer have access to the game, I'm sure it'll be fine again.

And you don't think the same thing happens to everyone else on here who sticks up for their opinion? For a time, my entire shell got trolled in-game by Raze Sharp and his minions. In the end, his shell booted him because he was too much of a douche and he quit the game, however.

I just think that hiding behind an r1 char so that nobody knows who you are is kinda shady, ya know?

Insulting someone isn't attacking them? News to me.

Nothing listed in the Roadmap has any bearing on gameplay for either of those groups of classes except for combat, ie. Fluff. I don't know how that isn't easy to understand. You know what superficial means before you waltzed into here bashing people's opinions right? None of it is going to make the game any more enjoyable for anyone except combat when aiming as DoL isn't even worth doing.

I am curious as to the OP's suggestions as to what would make a better battle system!

(I'm pretty sure the changes to class abilities, and then the Job system when it's added, are much more than 'tweaks' to the battle system, but then again I'm finally fairly happy with the battle system aside from tanking and crowd control being terrible at the moment, both of which things they've directly said 'we're going to be addressing this shortly'.)

I'm also curious what would make a better crafting system - it seems the OP actually likes the current system for HQs, but /practically nobody else does/, since there's still way too much RNG God involved - your actions to try and HQ something aren't actually that meaningful, there's a good chance you'll not HQ, and that's frustrating to people. I agree that the current crafting system even after 1.19 is a hot mess, and I don't -personally- have any bright ideas to fix it or make it more fun to play, which is why I've largely kept my mouth shut about it.

(And, just because someone has shown trollish tendencies in some of the posts they make doesn't make everything they ever say trollan'. It's okay to be relentlessly negative about crafting! Crafting sucks right now, it sucks a lot less than it did pre-1.9, but it still sucks. Does it ruin the game for me, no, I just switched my focus to DoL/DoM, but it's still not at a place where you could call it a proper first-order element of gameplay, I'm not sure it's even possible for it to get there, and there isn't a clear path to crafting -not- being terrible in 2.0. The battle system, however, I'm not sure what the OP's complaints are with it, exactly, so I don't know how to respond other than 'there -are- fairly major changes planned for before 2.0 even hits'.)

I saw that quote, but it simply makes it sounds like they're keeping the current system for HQ, and giving us a dumbed-down version for grinding. I'm not sure if that'll address the real problems of the crafting system being to RNG reliant and boring.

Having been part of an IT dept that has changed the server infrastructure for a particular system, I can tell you by experience that it is not at all superficial.

actually, battle is to me, going in the right direction, its positional, active, and as you level, more and more oriented on chaining together skills, and building a certain set up with gear choices (materia) i think once they balance it, add the self combo system they have mentioned multiple times, and bring back some form of coorperative battle mechanic like battle regimens it will be good.

Other than these two changes, and general tweaks and advancements that are natural in an MMO i dont think battle needs anything else.

Crafting needs a change imo, and it will get one. Im not sure if they are just going to marginalize it, or make it more complex, but it needs both. And range is a viable mechanic for developing this imo, there is a great many games that involve range that are fairly engaging and have real choices, If they choose to build a system without one, thats fine, but in order to meet the needs of crafting in this world, it would have to be fundamentally different.

regardless they did mention having multiple types of crafting, one for general grind and another for enhanced rewards, im guessing exp/quality. Regardless, it seems that there are going to be some changes to those elements, whether they are superficial or not depends on your stance.

One thing is, the game is basically out of beta now, barring them replacing yoshi, you will not see any drastic changes that arent already in the pipeline, so aside from battle regimens new form, balancing, new skills/abilities and whatever new combo system they have been talking about, battle is basically the rough idea of what its going to be, if its not for you, then you just arent going to like the game.

Essentially we are basically to the point where there will be no more sweeping changes to battle, take it or leave it.
