My inner whm and gnb are upset.
Queue leveling roulette, get Doma Castle. Nifty! One of my more favorite SB dungeons. I then proceed to check the tank and realize I was in for one hell of a ride.
Almost entirely base shire gear, save for the body and weapon. Everything else is either pankratist gear or a ruby tide ring. Lovely. Maybe they realized they're undergeared and will take things slowly, which I really don't mind. We have a nin and dnc in the party, so no real heavy-hitters, which is also fine. I don't mind leisurely strolls through a castle that's on fire around me. This is fine.
Does the tank take things slowly? NOPE.
First pull is a mass pull and their hp proceeds to drop like a rock until they realize 'oh hey, I have cooldowns, I should probably pop them now.' My mp dips into 50%, which is something I expected, but once the stopgate before the golem comes down, I realized something else was amiss. The nin in our party wasn't using Doton. Or Katon. Odd. At least they were using Hellfrog but no DB/HM wombo combos. The dnc was aoe'ing their hearts out, but still that first trash pack should have told me to abandon there and then. But no, I'm a glutton for punishment.
Golem and 3 soldier pull the tank and nin decide mob aoes are good to stand in, along with spinning the golem like he was a Twister spinner. My mp starts to starve quite a bit trying to keep the party up and keep dpsing. We make it, but then the tank makes a mad dash for the airship mobs. Still no aoe's from the nin save for Hellfrog. We down those and even though my mp should've told me to just abandon now, I still am a glutton for punishment.
First boss both the tank and nin eat aoes, and occasionally the dnc because sometimes no one pays attention to the adds that waltz on through. I've been there once...that explosion to the face tends to be a refreshing wake-up call.
First boss went down and took a bit longer than I had expected. The tank runs off for the next pull the second the stopgate goes down, and STILL both the nin and tank feel that mob aoes are part of your balanced f*cking breakfast. At least they only pulled the doggos and mecha mob. Once those went down, our tank decided to try the big boy pull. Alright. I at least had my cooldowns at the ready. He'd better have his cooldowns ready too.
We get the first set and he brings them over to the magitek reaper set, and I'm waiting for him to use Super. Super, any time now, my mp's dipping below 30% bro. On a side note, I hate that Lucid is on a shorter restore cooldown, but love that it's on a shorter recast cooldown. Assize, Tetra, Divine, Cure II, Regen, Medica II, Holy...WHERE IS YOUR SUPER BRO? WHY ARE YOU TWO STILL EATING AOES? MY BENEDICITION IS WAITING TO GIVE YOU A F*CKING HUG.
On another side note: Lilies should be an independent cooldown and not a gcd, like a 3 second cooldown. That may actually save tanks like these from their own stupidity. Then again, all the cure potency in the world probably would not save tanks that decide that mob aoes are the best thing since sliced bread.
Did the tank ever use Superbolide? NOPE. He dies from eating aoe's, I get him up, but the DNC now had aggro. They die after I try to salvage the situation, but then the mobs decide that my fairy glamour was offensive. I eat dirt, followed by the rest of the party. We respawn and I gave the tank a heads up that they do not have the gear to do that sort of pull. We get back and down the stragglers before getting to the second boss.
15 seconds into the second boss, SUDDENLY SUPERBOLIDE.
YOU F*CKER. WHERE WAS THAT EARLIER?! My sanity with this tank and nin was at the breaking point, and during the entirety of the second boss the nin and tank kept eating aoes, along with the nin deciding they wanted to be a bouncy ball with the mine lines that were laid down. It was at this point I decided that, once this boss was down, I was done.
Second boss down, I told them I had to leave, and ate the penalty.
