The exact same thing happened to me yesterday during msq roulette. WHM DC'ed right away after we got Castrum and came back some time after we beat the first magitek boss. He then went AFK until I've had enough and brought it up after the invul giant phase. He was kicked promptly after, but the real deal happened afterwards. DNC kept saying on how easy Castrum is and it doesn't matter, that she has seen 2 people carried the other 6 through the dungeon because it's "so braindead EZ", and that I'm a jerk for "whining and crying over 1 person AFK in a content that doesn't matter".Quote:

Well, that happened.
Just had to solo heal Dun Scaith on my White Mage.
Que into Alliance Roulette, get Dun Dun Doom, other Team C healer leaves instantly.
Proceed to solo heal C the rest of the instance.
Owowowie, and the Dragoon who stood in everything was not helping.
Much death and much pain later we clear...and i roll a 99 on the minion and get 6 Commendations for the trouble. -

Speaking of practice, queued up for a 50/60/70 earlier. Get Antitower. Tank pulls and immediately loses aggro and can't get it back. I check their gear, left side is the basic GNB white gear. Right side is level 20ish accessories. I yeet myself right out of there. I'm not here to baby lazy players. -

Healer is too busy Stoning or Holying to do any healing, aside from an occasional Assize.
And though I'm dodging everything really well in The Vault, I die because SOMEONE didn't run away with the chain - they're in the middle so there's literally NOWHERE I can run to break it. So I drop. Healer raises me...
And doesn't heal me for the next altar pyre (or whatever the party-wide ability is).
So I die. Again.
And the healer does nothing.
I just lay there while they chip away sadly at his health. The DRG (who couldn't even down 1 of the balls in that phase while I was downing 3 by myself) never used the LB2 when it popped. The only reason we won because by the time the DRG died, dude was at like... .5% and the tank auto-attacked him to death.
So yeah. See, when I pick healer, I dunno, I actually... heal? THAT'S the story behind my signature. There's no paradox. -

I just got out of E4N, trying to get to get stuff for my heals since my RNG is always crappy and I keep rolling for stuff I already have. Went in as RDM. What a flipping shiteshow. We had one newbie, whom I'll forgive, but everyone else... ;-; Everyone kept dying. So I became a rez-bot and was constantly low on MP and trying to support heals. Who kept dying. Always. We went through three cycles of Titan Kart, not counting the first one where he teases you before he starts vrooming around in circles. AST tried 3 bar Limit Break... Interrupted. And away went the LB bar. And away went the AST as the WHM came up. We managed to beat Titan, somehow... I joked about getting all the comms for the carry.
1 comm.
I should've just let it wipe.... -

Got E4N on roulette last night.
The Ninja and Monk ate mechanics very often. Especially the Ninja. No first time message but perhaps that was their 2nd or 3rd run and haven't familiarize with the fight yet.
Monk and Ninja down. I raised the Ninja, and my co-healer astro raised the Monk.
The OT derped and stood on the wrong side for massive landslide. I waited for swiftcast to be off CD.
The Ninja died again from bomb boulders. Sorry bud, you have to wait in line while I raise the OT first.
At this point, more bomb boulders and AoE, the Monk barely made it. The Astro kept an eye on him like a hawk as they successively top the Monk's hp for every mistake he made.
Finally, the Ninja got his raise.
The Astro died during VROOM VROOM phase.
The Monk followed after.
Oh no.
I hardcast raise my cohealer when titan stopped throwing AoE.
Astro up.
The astro swift raise the monk with little MP they have.

Astro's MP is alarmingly low.

I logged back in to find everyone but 2 tanks and 1 dancer still up. Titan's somewhere at 10%. I swift raise the Astro. The MT died. Titan aggroed to me. Dancer ate AoE and died. I ate tank buster then died. Astro managed to raise the other tank before they also died.
2 tanks left with a small fraction of HP. If only one of them were PLD, we could have salvage the run. Wipe at 7%.
I was ready to have another go but party leader initiated a vote kick to the Ninja. It didn't go through. The leader dropped out, and everyone else followed. -

I queued into Sirensong Sea as Gunbreaker via Leveling Roulette, I noticed a Ninja with 15K HP. I examined his gear and saw the entire left side with the i200 unaugmented Ninja AF2 (and no, it's not glamoured.) In addition, his right side accessories are no higher than i148. The only good thing is his i255 HQ weapon. [The AST and DRG are geared well.]
I asked the Ninja is he had higher-leveled gear. He replied to me with "do u even care?"
That is the sign when I had to leave the dungeon and take the 30 minute penalty. Not going to carry an undergeared person who just does not care. I just did my beast tribe dailies during that penalty period. -

I single pulled. I am a crazy healer that would try to heal through 100 mobs, but I'm not a crazy tank when I don't outgear the dungeon.

I went through there on AST recently while leveling it. Definitely had a harder time on that than WHM, but granted, I wasn't in full ilvl 400 gear either. Was still doable, but there were times when I could do nothing but spam Benefic II towards the end of certain pulls. Think it just has to do with how solid the DPS are. I tend to wind up with randoms who only use single-target rotations, so a lot of mobs overstay their welcome.

So I'm at a crossroads between my 79 leveled Sam and my 52 mch. I enjoy mch more but since sam is so close to cap I'm leveling that atm. Is sam goign to have some buffs soon to make it more fun? Things like what they did to mch, as mch is way too good now. As far as fun factor anyway. I just don't know what I want to main. It's actually kindof making me sad.

Dear PLDs - stop spamming Clemency at 70% health. You are not dying; not even close. If I don't even have to pop Lightspeed to keep up with the incoming damage, it's not likely that you'll be eating dirt any time soon. All you're doing is making me waste mana and a GCD because your damn Clemency hit a micro second before my heal did, so... thanks for that. Also, I have Essential Dignity for a quick "oh crap!" heal. For crying out loud, I have WHM and SCH maxed already, so clearly I'm not new to healing in FFXIV. Stop spamming Clemency, it's a waste of mana and a GCD. Geez. Saint Mocianne's Arboretum isn't even a difficult dungeon, come on... and yes, the PLD was pulling big, still not hard.
And no, I was not letting their HP ping-pong all over the place, yet they kept doing this the entire dungeon when it was quite clear they were going to be fine... I don't get it, I really don't. I didn't bother saying anything, just rolled my eyes and left after we finished.
EDIT: This is more a "me" thing, but I just can't get used to GNB for some reason. I haven't stepped foot in anything with it (other than squadrons) because I don't trust myself with it at this point, but, it's just so... squishy and awkward? I don't know, going to practice with squadrons some more, but for now it's just not clicking. -
10-06-2019, 01:09 PMMhaericController players have to press up/down on the d-pad multiple times to tab to their target, so it leads to a lot more button pressing than mouse and keyboard. With KBM you can just hit f4-f8 to target your card's target and f1 or tab to get your main target back. They're both really busy, but controllers have a little bit extra business on top of the regular business.Quote:

Did I miss a recent tank guide update or why do a lot of tanks these days use Provoke very liberally throughout fights...basically on cd. There are no hate issues....there are no stragglers that need to be caught...nothing...but some use it all the time or even pull with it. The latter...ok...with the recent changes to the skill you can do that...but it doesn't really make any sense.
