What cause players to quit Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn

Leveling other jobs is a drag for me, end up just waiting on DF.
Crafting jobs I just don't feel have any real impact, I can get more gil from just running dailies.
Story quests are awesome! They just are over so fast...time between updates are long
Regular quests are not very fun...
Not enough non combat activities to do...Gold Saucer, mini-games, farming, whatever. Game needs more content besides just combat.

I really love this game... best since FFXI, but something is missing for me. I am glad other people enjoy just as it is, I just start to feel very bored not long after content patches.

I'm sure after some time FFXIV:ARR will have too much content to handle just at the moment for me leveling other jobs and running same dungeons are not content.

I hope they concentrate on story mission most of all and Eorzea as a whole and not so much endgame min maxing like so many other MMOs do that wanna be the next raiding thing.

What made me quit last year was pretty simple. Game was boring, my coils group at the time was pretty bad, the FC I was in was pretty bad(They were my coils group!). Let's see what else... Oh, right, and spamming Castrum Meridianum ad tedium for faster Darklight was enough to make me want to throw puppies into a woodchipper.

I would have quit again, if it wasn't for the fact I am only somewhat enjoying myself again, and actually have a decent coils static now.

Inability to pay once Ultimate Pay and its PayPal option went away. I would love to continue but don't have a CC and my account is a legacy account and I don't want to use a time card since it does not take my price rate into account. Once I can use PayPal again, I'll be back.

I used to pay via paypal for Crysta, as they always gave me an error whenever I'd use my debit card. Using it now however... Actually works. I think you made a thread about this, and your using your wife's card, yeah? (If I am mistaken, ignore this.)

Lol, ya, i've been bitching about this for a while. Sorry for continuing to bring it up. I had my hopes up this morning looking at the dev tracker and something about Payment options was there but it was for the shops at FanFest. I love this game and have been white knighting it since 1.0 cause I felt there was so much potential with what is there. This is one thing I finally have a complaint about. I'm not too worried though, I'm sure they will get it eventually but I will be a squeaky wheel until then.

I have a visa debit and use it under the visa just fine, the only real difference in debit and credit is, debit is telling bank transfer now, credit is like ok its there, we can transfer in a couple days and its still fine (or was it vice versa) either way, I have no problems paying under visa with a visa debit, try that.

Oh and I think people leave because they just don't have patience anymore...too much fruity peebles and adhd iphone 24 coming out next week must have even though I bought the 23 last Tuesday generation.

I'm 99% sure prepaid debit cards are Mastercard, available anywhere within the states or Canada, and are bought almost anywhere. I see no reason why you can't use that.

I'd love a citation that they built it around casual players. Whether it's boring or not is subjective. If they offered more customization people would just go with cookie cutter builds the majority of the time while simultaneously complaining that not every possible build is balanced, despite that being a completely unrealistic expectation.

How can you claim it lacks depth and is simplified without giving your reasons as to why you believe that? There are plenty of crowd control and support abilities too by the way, so I don't know what your definition of the two could possibly be to lead you to such a conclusion. Skill chains seem to be the combos we have right now since weapon skills and TP function completely different to how they did in XI.

Zodiac weapons are not for casuals. They are obtainable by casuals, but they are not designed for them. If they were designed for casuals there would be no reason to create other weapons.

While this might sound like a good idea initially, you have to realize that this could result in a net loss of loot for your group. This is due to being unable to loot something that you/person could use for an alternate job if you've already gotten loot. It also means you wouldn't be able too loot something if the bosses dropped gear for the same job back to back.

I could say the exact same thing about your post, so nothing then just another attempt to shout down an opinion and try make out it was presented as fact. Please just read the thread people have similar opinions again not presented as fact as you are claiming. At the end of the day I think it's always going to be this way people leave new people come along.

Most credit card companies will waive the interest charges if the balance is paid in full each month making the extra fees a big 0.

I do not own a credit card in any form. I WILL not own a credit card in any form. I do use paypal (which I could detail all that for you if you like... but we could just leave it at that.) It is accepted almost everywhere online now, its simple, its trusted, Please add it to your crysta payment SE. Until you do, I cannot add more time. Thanks! I believe reason they stop playing is basically this.

Dungeon - 50 level no use for dungeons anymore people use Hunts.
Coil - being kicked or die non stop for a little bit of story line or a piece of gear that will be outdated.

Super fast level progression everyone passes each other up causing a gap
Super easy to get gear new players can get 50 job then gear up level 1 jobs without running things again

Nothing to do cept sycus tower once a week other than that you are basically doing all of this for gear.

gear sycus tower nobody pvps cause of other people blasting others for losing and other reasons and so there basically nothing else to do
but wait for new stuff to come or quit and wait.

also I don't see new jobs doing anything for this game once they come people aren't going to be interested not like they were in FFXI people gonna stick to the job they built up the best unless the new jobs hold some sort of reason to be leveled.

I just find the early levels rather boring and with my ADHD it's hard me to keep going when it feels like a chore more than anything else. I hate that about myself, but it's how I am sadly. MMOs are generally fun to me once I'm in the higher levels and the classes aren't mindless or whenever everything is still new to me.

Thankfully after coming back to the game a couple days ago, I had 99 leves saved. c: I need to level BLM (ugh, hating it) for swiftcast and culinarion for steady hand II, and the leves are making it bearable at least.

I'm looking forward to maining a WHM and crafting for $$. c: Crafting at higher levels for HQ looks like a lot of fun and I definitely enjoy healing over DPS and probably over tanking.

This is the butt hurt I was talking about looking for any kind of angle and what's more evident about that statement is I ain't even the first person to say that. I was never one to have time to level 10 characters in one game, I RP so I make a story for my character but being able to play all jobs is nice.

Combat- oversimplified and lacks depth there are no crowd control abilities, not a lot of support abilities and no skill chains.
I would like some more abilities that are needed but not in every fight. Like Silence for my BRD would be nice if it was more useful.

Zodiac Weapons- takes to long for the casual player to get for very little gain. At ilvl 110 it should take a max of 3 weeks for a player to get if they play 2 hrs a day since new Raids and gear come out every 6 mos.
I personally like the pace I am getting this done. Just starting on Alexander farming this week.

I will admit, One Shot is cheap and needs to be removed from the game, I'm all for gating with DPS check, Healing Check, Tank check, But one shot sucks because it often has nothing to do with skill of player if there isn't enough reaction time for player to move. And this being the internet, You need to account for lag times which for some will be more then other.

I personally like how this is gated. It prevents to much of a gap between Elite players and the rest of the player base giving them a reason to help out. As long as they haven't done there turn 9 yet.

I've been playing MMOs for 12 years. I've quit all of them before FFXIV, Why I don't have time for 2 MMOs.
Also the grass is greener on the other side of the fence is what I personally thing is the biggest reason people try another mmo, some come back some don't.

You forgot the spoon feeding of casual players compared to moderate to hardcore players to keep them happy!

Everybody has the right to not use one of they so desire, I respect that. The thing though is that even though I agree that having Paypal would help, the near totality of people eligible for credit cards have at least one which is one (based on conjecture, could be something else) of the reasons why Square Enix are in no hurry to add more payment methods.

That kind of opinion is unwanted drivel as it's extremely negative and is shared only by a handful of people, mostly by the one who are the first to jump ship as soon as a new shiny appears which means no harm done for the game when they decide to bail, which by your posts, I'm surprised you haven't done already.

Oh you bet! CC's are highly popular and it also sorta weeds out the much younger crowd who probably shouldnt be playing on their own anyway. I could go on and on about how i disagree with the idea of "bad" credit but it is a personal choice. I get letters in the mail all the time asking me to get one and it would be nothing for me to sign up, i just cant bring myself to do it. Mostly cause I don't trust myself, too many awesome things to buy on the internet. Honestly, this is the only thing I have complained about on these forums and the only thing I have asked to be put in the game so its not like i'm prone to complaints.

At least SE has the basics covered, CC and Time Cards. Heck, even allowing us to use a time card to get crysta would solve my problem.

I can respect someone wise enough to restrain themselves on something they know they would abuse. And I agree, Time Cards are a solution that shouldn't be too hard to implement for someone like Square Enix.

You buy the card and there are no additional fees. If you don't have $3-5 to use on your card, then you don't want to pay this game.

I quit for a few months in the game's early months because, at the time, the endgame was a dreadful grind for Philosophy tomes and, later, Mythology tomes in just a handful of dungeons: AK, WP, Praetorium, and CM. There wasn't enough story, content, or features there to hold my attention after Level 50.

I picked the game back up in April and I've been playing since. So much was added in the time I was gone as alternatives to endless dungeon grinding and speed-runs. Those things still exist, don't get me wrong, but there are so many other ways to spend your time. I spent a few weeks doing The Hunt to get my Novus weapon. I can garden and decorate my personal room. A lot of good loot comes from merely playing the game, not grinding out endgame currency. I just needed post-50 stuff to be more spaced out. Now that it is, I can't see myself getting bored unless I decide to go on a month-long binge and complete all the stuff I haven't seen.

My biggest issue with the game is overall oversimplification.
There's just not a lot of deeply engaging content outside maybe some endgame bosses.

I see this one time and time again and it simply is not true by any stretch of the imagination. T7 especially says hello. There was one week both tanks went down with Prosector up and we used Healer limit for shiz and gigz and we still managed to win. That was just one example but there are countless others, and that goes for T9 as well... Being able to react fast enough and pay attention to your team or your lack thereof is not the fault of the devs, and mmo raids have functioned this way for quite some time.

That's how bosses in raids work, not just in this game. If it isn't scripted, it's random and that randomness contradicts your next point which is:

Because if it's random AND quite forgiving, goodbye any form of challenge. And saying that one dead means a wipe, sorry but that isn't true at all. You get a dead in Ramuh EX, you can still make it. Heck, I had a farm group last week where due to people taking it too easy after a few wins, we let all chaotic people died early on which lead 3 DPS being weakened when the arbiters came. We still made it through. Another example, in T7, as long as your mistake isn't shriek'ing the whole raid, you easily can make the fight with a dead or two. The main reason why people say that they need to play perfect or wipe (except a quite low amount of mechanics) is that people don't have the skill nor the awareness to adjust on the fly to other people's mistakes.

The funniest thing about 2.1 Pharos Sirius is that it was easily solved by not tunneling the bosses, which is for some people seemed like an impossible task.
