I do ready checks at the last boss of every dungeon because that's when people suddenly need to "brb" or something. I was in Holminster Switch as the tank with my partner as the healer, with a MNK and DRG (the latter was a mentor, which will be relevant to this story). The whole way I hardly saw either of them do AoE skills, despite at least one of them seemingly being knowledgeable of the game (hence mentioning their mentor status). I even asked them after the second boss if they were allergic to using AoE skills, with absolutely zero reaction. So we get to the last boss, and I do a ready check. Instantly the MNK hits "not ready", so it was 3/4. I waited a few seconds to let them do whatever they needed to, then initiated another ready check. Instantly again, the MNK is not ready, and then they charge in and pull the boss. I said "that's not how you do a ready check," and back out of the area. My partner never walked in anyway, so we got locked out while those two cowboys died. I said "Wanna try again?" followed by complete silence as they did the walk of shame back to the area. I initiated yet another ready check, and they were finally all ready. So that's when I pulled.

I'm sure someone will criticize me for doing ready checks in the first place, but I'd rather do it when everyone is ready than pull when someone isn't. I'm getting really tired of DPS players that think they can just charge in and ignore everything the tank says or does. And if you think I should've just went in anyway when the MNK charged in, I suspect you're probably just another DPS that wants to lead without any of the responsibility.

I used to do the "tank what you pull" thing, but it just ends up wasting more of my own time in the end. At this point, I think initiating kicks is a better solution, kick and replace.

the other dps is pretty much the same, just change the highest to BRD

1st and 2nd boss is total mess, 1st boss add spawn and both dps didnt bother to hit, 2nd boss both dps keep getting charmed and one die because of that continues fire pillar attack thingy

Sirensong sea is almost always bad, I've posted about this dungeon a few times in this thread. I pretty much think that place is cursed.

I don't know if I posted about this one, but this reminds me of a run I had like a month ago in shisui. I was tank, and the dps was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo low that the fights, all of them, took literal centuries. On top of that the healer wouldn't heal me on the last boss so we wiped twice, I just ended up leaving. You would have to be there but, like, holy crud it was I think the longest dungeon run I've ever had.

Did the vault yesterday and oof, I was soo tired and constantly messed up UI and AF switching on black mage, luckily my team mates were patient with me.

There is a difference between players playing the game and players participating in the game. This is an example of the later.
This huge lack of environmental awareness (Add spawns, AoE markers, other markers, etc.) is a clear sign they are not ripe for that level of content no matter what their level is indicating.

If you call "ignoring every mecchanic" doing all good, then no. If you call "ignoring every mechanic" a failure, then yes.

Why is it excatly that I keep encountering paladins in ShB-content that dont know how and what to cast?
Disclaimer: I main a paladin and while I'm not a 100% confident again with handling my physical buff, my dot, my sword-oath and my casting-window in all of the new fights, I'm always angry at myself when I'm sitting on full MP for 10 seconds longer than I had to. In other words: I'm trying to cast as much as I can, Confiteor looks awesome and with instant casttimes everything got a whole lot nicer (something I'm point out to my BLM-boyfriend on a regular basis).

So, why is it that every second paladin I encounter seem to be unaware of their damage dealing spells?

Let me bring in the examples now:

1) Holminster, I'm healing a level 74 paladin whos doing big pulls with bad cooldowns, but thats alright, I can heal through that. What isnt alright is that they sit on full MP for 95% of the dungeon. You get Holy Circle (AoE-spell) at level 72, which is what Holminster syncs you down to. They were using Requiescat (but not casting anything after, I wanted to scream and/or cry and I might did both) and Clemency on occassion, which was a total waste fo MP, but I guess they didnt notice my Excog and got nervous...
I did keep my mouth shut because I wasnt in the mood for a fight - still: they were basically missing half their skills...

2) Holminster again, this time a level 71 paladin, so no Holy Circle to expect. They're very polite and ask if they can go for big pulls which I gladly approve of (I'm healing again). They go for big pulls, actually use their cooldowns, but have the same problem: using Requiescat, but not casting anything afterwards. Okay, maybe they dont want to interrupt their AoE-rotation to attack on single mob out of 8? I can understand that, sort of! So lets wait for a boss, they surely will... nope, still the same no Holy Spirit being casted this day. But they're casting Clemency, again total watse of MP and this time I tell them something along the lines "Hey, dont worry about using your MP for Clemency, you can cast your dps-spells, I'll keep you alive, promise!"
To which I get the reply that its their habit not to cast Holy Spirit... habit...? What now? That spell has been a thing for 2 years! How can it NOT be someones habit to spam the hell out of it once Requiescat is up? A skill they clearly found...
I sigh, but I'm not in the mood to argue so... you do you, paladin...

3) Yesterday, Eden 3 - this paladin is level 80 now, I'm doing the fight on paladin aswell, trying my best to balance casting with hitting stuff with my sword and dodging mechanics. All of that while I see Requiescat being used by my fellow tank on occassion only to watch him sit on full MP afterwards. The only 3 or 4 times his MP dropped to 8k for a brief moment were when he was casting Clemency to trigger his Veil (fair enough use of Clemency when you dont know the healers).
He even made a comment about how this fight must be hell in "ex mode", which I hope indicates that hes never set a foot into Savage, at least not for the past two years...

They gave us such beautiful, powerful skills, allowing us to keep attacking when the boss is out of reach or just to deal a massive amount of damage... its a rhetorical question I'd like to repeat: Why do so many paladins seem to completly ignore this part of their toolkit? A part that isnt new but part of our rotation since 4.0 by now...

Was playing SAM in E3, standing on the left platform after the middle of the area broke down. Then this big blue AOE came up with Levi forcing us in the back corner away from him. Y'know, as a Melee I don't like standing there, so as soon as the AOE went off I hit that dash button (Hissatsu: Gyoten)... and dashed right off the platform into the abyss of death. :(

Somehow I really hoped I would dash straight to the front and not diagonal to the center of the boss, so I now found a new way to suicide

Are... are tanks allergic to using aoe skills? Why am I always having aggro on one or half of the enemies on dancer in castrum abania. Also bonus points for an undergeared "you don't may my sub" mentor tank.

Holding aggro couldn't be easier and tanks lately still dont know how to do it.

Somehow between the two of us we can complete the set of people that refuse to AoE in a post-ShB world. Even before ShB, keeping aggro on those enemies wasn't even hard. With player-based AoEs like Flash, Steel Cyclone, etc. it was really easy to hold everything. Those tanks you encounter must be Mega Bad.

do i loath them? no, do i hate them? no, do i feel sorry for the HEALER? yes. and why would i complain? iam the tank in this case, all i do is just tank like usual, dps HP problem and ignoring the mechanic is not my business, i told them how and they just give me silent treatment. the one pulling the hair is the healer.

Tl;dr At least one or two enemies in EVERY pack were on me in the last several runs (and the same tank was in two of them, but not the only tank to not aoe). That last tank died on the first boss (undergeared) and even after raising I still ended up taking aggro near the end and ate a wheelie to the face, and died.

I kited the second boss around too because naturally the tank died. The healer was okay but they can only do so much. So far I've had warrior and gunbreakers, mostly the latter.

What are the odds, having to heal a newbie tank whom (I suspect) used job+story skip potion PLUS BOTH dps (DNC and NIN) that happily face smacking the mobs beside the tank. Where are your positionals Ninja?! DNC, you are ranged why you need to hug the eaters' face?

I was farming healer gear in Mt Gulg and this happened on my (exhaustingly) 6th run. The first 2 pulls I noticed dps' health got hit sometimes. Only then I realize that after pulling, the tank did not face the mobs away from the party. At least the 3 of them dodge aoe so I only needed to focus healing the tank (which btw did not use any cooldowns) and use ogcd/regen on the dps.

Additionally, NIN got impatient after the 3rd trash and started pulling ahead. Then DNC joined the trash pulling after the 1st boss throughout the entire dungeon, leaving the poor tank trying to catch up and me screaming internally.

Since it was the tank's first time in that dungeon, Boss fight was a little challenging to heal: tank buster took out 2/3 of his health. I put a marker on myself to guide him where to stand for mechanics. We wipe once on the last boss because the tank and NIN ate a few aoe and the former died from tank buster. I got him up and proceed to rez NIN. I died after casting because tank forgot to turn on stance again so he couldn't grab aggro from me.

Oh, the tank did not use the shortcut but instead ran all the way to the last boss room to regroup.
No comms after that exhausting run.

Depends. Dancers have a lot of aoes that need to be cast up close because they're centered around the player. not hurled from afar.

mini update.. so my tanking is getting abit better. I hope for anyone who randomly groups with me isn't mad. So far tho I'm getting a better feel for breako, and runs are going abit more smooth.. even was top dps in one of my runs.I do have a question tho... is it just me or are breakos abit softer then the other 3 tanks? cause I sure do feel it at times. And yes I've learned to use my CDs better. That was a lesson I learned the VERY hard way T.T

Does it have to be at point blank though? Genuine question because I do not have it leveled. I am aware DNC are more mid-ranged similar to whm Holy I guess.

5 yards for the basic aoes. 15 yards for Step and Technical finish. Fan Dance III is ranged but is a proc off Fan Dance I (ST ranged) or Fan Dance II (aoe 5 yards). Saber Dance is also ranged but my dancer is only 71, it is based on Espirit gauge.

Yard? Yalm? I just say that as a reflex.

The AOEs of DNC have a radius of 5y around the caster (so it doesn't work like Rain of Death from BRD). WHMs Holy has 8y. So yeah, in dungeons DNCs actually need to stand right in the middle of the trash mobs to AOE.

I've had my fair share of bad DPS in Shisui but I don't think anything beats the Levelling roulette I had today.

Loaded into Shisui and get a Monk, GNB and BLM.
First pull and everything is dying super.... super slowly. Halfway through my thought process, the Monk pipes up in chat.
The iLvl 110-120 Monk that straight up forgot to open their coffer after completing the Lvl 60 duty and having their iLvl260 gear in their retainer. Their excuse was they reduced their iLvl to get Lvl50 trials and alliance raids (fair enough, I'll pay that). Luckily they had a host of other jobs at 60 so they were at least able to cobble something decent together after the first pull. But I would be fairly certain that they were STILL out DPSing the Black Mage.

What was the Black Mage doing, I hear you ask?
Scathe spam.
And ONLY Scathe spam.

No Blizzard. No Fire 3. No thunder. No AoEs. I asked if they needed help with their rotation in any way, even mentioning that they could do what most sprout BLMs do... which is Blizzard 3 then Fire 3 and repeat until the heat death of the universe.
Their response was (paraphrasing) "Scathe has no cast time and has a 20% chance to double. It's better damage over the entire dungeon. I'll play how I want." Meanwhile they had run out of MP on the FIRST BABY PULL. When I pointed out that they could hit Lucid Dreaming to regain back some MP, they said "I main Black Mage on another server. I'm a top tier raider. Don't tell me how to play again or I'll report you."
The tank just stopped, probably having an aneurysm after reading that last line from the Black Mage.

I understand the "difference in playstyle" argument, but THIS cannot be one of those times. We would have literally run out of time in the dungeon if they had continued their Scathe spam. If that Black Mage is reading this... FOR THE LOVE OF VAUTHRY... Press a different button.

I don't think the first 5 mins have gone so long in a dungeon before initiating a vote kick.

So I thought I had had one of the longest dungeon runs ever, but I just got out of 'The Twinning' about 5 minutes ago. I'll just leave this here...

No leavers, one who wen't afk for a total of about 2 minutes. That's it. Just constant wiping on the first boss, and on the third boss. The dragoon would only single target adds. The tank at first was pulling big, but I was the only one actually using AOE, so I just said that he might as well just pull small, and he did, but even then it was taking a good minute and a half to kill small pulls, crazy. The boss fights took forever - when we cleared them. Ironically, only the tank was new, when I told them how to do the mechanics after the first wipe, the dragoon was sarcastic, after the second wipe he said he "forgot" that he "gets it now". I'm over here thinking, I literally just said how to do it properly and you gave me a sarcastic response, actually facepalming. This run was an absolute nightmare.

I don't even know why I stayed. I didn't want to leave, because I wanted to queue up for something else right after. After a bit I think I was just way too invested to just leave.

Ran Malikah's Well multiple times last night to level my RDM. Had a SCH in mainly 77/75 gear spamming physick and adlo at every moment they could during big mob pulls. Only set up bio on bosses and didn't actively use broil until the last boss.

Only thing nice about that entire run was working on my aoe rotation. :/

Between all the new fights and Titania EX throwing out terrorize mechanics, I've been using Rescue a lot more often then I have in the past.

Not that I mind, it's fun to save those one individuals and keep the party going, especially with how expensive Raise has become this expansion.

I got a good dose of reality last night in expert roulette. The tank right away let the group know they have a condition that causes violent spasms, so if they do anything weird it was that. They did do some weird stuff, too. Knowing they were having spasms when they ran into walls or turned around reminded me that there are others with conditions that keep them from playing “normally” (for lack of a better word) and to be less judgmental because I don’t know anyone’s story. They were great though, there was a hiccup at the start where we wiped on trash (honestly I think the WHM just couldn’t keep up since they had trouble keeping us alive on bosses, too) but the tank adjusted to smaller pulls and we cleared in a good time.

I’ve been running GNB through 50-70 and leveling roulettes casually to level. It’s been a very long time since I ran tank through roulettes. DPS constantly running ahead of me makes me feel like I’m not going fast enough, even though I’m pulling wall to wall and I start moving to the gate when the last mob is nearly dead to try and stay ahead. None have actually pulled for me, anyway. I will try to keep this feeling of being rushed in mind when I’m doing things as healer or DPS because I tend to do the same thing and stop right before the monsters aggro to wait. It won’t kill me to stay behind the tank if it means they won’t get that same feeling.

Sorry for this sounding like a blog entry!

Also this isn’t duty finder relate but could be considered PVP. I recently managed to upgrade my small house to a medium in the Lavender Beds after plot 60 got demolished. Another soul showed up just as I relocated - better luck next time!

Edit: Just had this experience in stone vigil as GNB.

I’m doing double pulls until the first hall with 3 sprites and an aevis. Healer is doing fine so I keep going to the room right before the second boss and pull that group too. Wipe. All right, next time I just pull the sprites and aevis but healer pulls the next group. I ask them not to pull for me, citing we wiped once already. The rest of the run is a back and forth with me asking them to respect their fellows when they ask and them saying things like “big ol tank need the healer to hold his hand?” Being inflammatory because they take offense to asking them to stay in their lane? They died in last boss because they were typing some garbage, probably the only justice that’ll be served today.

I've noticed this too. I main SCH and have played a little GNB, so I've been on both ends of this. My GNB felt squishier than my PLD, but I think this has more to do with PLD having Clemency. In most cases, as PLD, I can completely erase mistakes made by either myself or the healer. On GNB, I was very much at the mercy of my team.

Leaving out Sentinel and its equivalents, PLD has Clemency, Sheltron, and Hallowed Ground.

DRK has Abyssal Drain and TBN. But with TBN being at 70, DRK struggles in a similar level range GNB does, and certain pulls, like the big one in Doma Castle, are much easier to do on PLD and WAR.

WAR has Thrill of Battle, a 250 potency heal on their combo, Raw Intuition, Equilibrium, Holmgang.

GNB has Aurora and Brutal Shell. They do a lot of damage, granted, but I imagine before level 68 (when they get Heart of Stone), they're going feel a bit more helpless. Those one or two additional abilities might seem small, but they can really add up. I don't think the dev team understood this as well as they should have.

We're on the same data center. If you want advice on tanking fundamentals or a healer to queue with, look me up. c:

Was in a Shisui run trying to level my BLM. The DRK and the WHM were a pair. At the very start of the dungeon... The DRK pops EVERY BLEEDIN defensive CD he has. Even Living Dead! Waits 4 seconds and then proceeds to do the multiple pack pull. Doesn't have Grit on at all. The DNC we had told him to put it on. He didn't. We wiped. Then he blames us DPS for "Standing in the middle while pulling" or some crap like that, and both of us DPS just stood at the beginning for a few seconds like... "Huh?" Second go round he puts it on in the middle of the pull, on top of that he won't use his AoE ability to hold aggro and I die again. I point out to him "I'm getting auto attacked. Please hold aggro spam Unleash if you have to."

So we limp to the first boss and the DRK tells us that the WHM had to go AFK. Ok fine. We beat the boss, beat the two packs directly after that all while the DRK is still popping every frickin defensive CD before the pulls even start, and still refusing to use his AoE ability and losing aggro to me and the DNC. So. We beat them and we're about to get to the pack before the second boss. Then the DRK and the WHM stop moving. The WHM apparently went AFK again but this time the DRK didn't say anything and was just standing there. He WAS still there though because he was doing slight movements.

So at this point, we've spent 25 minutes in the dungeon, we haven't even reached the second boss yet, and we were still waiting for this WHM to get back for another 4 minutes. I had enough at that point. I felt like a fair amount of my time had been wasted, and even more was going to get wasted If I stayed any longer. I gave my fellow DPS, the DNC, a /hug and a /goodbye. Then I left.

It was also kinda obvious both of them, or at least the DRK, used a jump item. I just refuse to believe he leveled his DRK that far by playing the way he was.

If any of the people in my party in Sohm Al (Hard) read this, I'm so sorry for 90king twice during the first boss fight. It's storming where I live so the internet is all messed up. I decided not to log back in after the second kick since it's still storming. Hopefully you got another healer pretty quickly! I totally blame myself, shouldn't have tried to tempt fate by entering a dungeon when I heard thunder outside.

Last week, leveling dancer, in the last stormblood dungeon, something strange happened and i lost control of my camera. Everytime i moved my mouse my bunny spun in circles, i couldnt see what was going on let alone fight! Later i discovered it was my mouse macro for another game. I hadn't changed the profile. They were great. I died, scholar raised me. I told them i had no clue what happened. They laughed and said it was fine. The rest of the run went perfectly, i even got a comm at the end!

Sadly, after it was over I noticed i had a level 12 belt on and level 35 ring, entire right side were caster/healer pieces... i had purchased the level 70 scaeven gear but forgot to save my set after equipping them. Who knows how long i had been running around that way... sorry to the healers/tanks/dps i put through that.

Another dungeon i saw this random red thing link another player and i, and freaked and started running lol it was a tether. I usually heal (yup another healer turned dancer) so tether was totally new to me. Every time it appeared i ran away. Felt silly after.

DNC has a total of 9 aoe abilities. The first 2 comprise a directly spammable 5y pbaoe combo. The next 2 proc off of these and are also 5y pbaoes. Then our fan Danes effectively chain off of the second set and are either a ranged single target attack or a pbaoe that chains into a ranged aoe (both ogcd). Our final 3 are a ranged aoe that is gauge based (gauge fills based on procs), and our finishers (step dances), which are 15y pbaoes that have 30s (standard step/finish) and 2m (technical step/finish) CDs. (edited for clarity now that I'm home)

So yes, in aoe situations, we really do need to be in melee.

They should honestly make TBN obtainable for lvl 60 at least, change Delirium to the lvl 70 ability it sucks that WAR gets Raw Intuition, PLD gets Sheltron all at lower levels while DRK and GNB get theirs at 68 and 70 it's my only small minor complaint about those two.

On topic though I just healed a tank in Holminster Switch that was a DRK that never once used TBN, Rampart, or Shadow Wall the only ability he used was Dark Mind which is magic damage only, thanks SE, I was on SCH and he of course went big popped no CDs, if it wasn't for Shield Samba from the DNC we woulda died. I told em can you use tank CDs? Silence.

Sigh it's gonna be one of those runs, I also notice as being a DRK main that he isn't using Flood or Edge of Shadow so he's also not getting the 10% dmg increase just using Unleash and Stalwart Soul and sometimes Quietus when they'd remember they had it. The kicker of all this was he had Omega Savage gloves/boots and accessories so he's raided before so I don't understand how a person could be so clueless, we ended up clearing it and it was a struggle bus if it wasn't for the DNC/BLM the dungeon woulda been so terrible so thank you to those 2 DPS i'd comm you both if I could.

I play blm and I genuinely forgot that skill still exists.

This happened some days back. I was leveling DRK in Malikah's Wells with some amazing healer partner. So we got a DRG and a MCH. So I do the first big pull, everything seems off as things weren't dying THAT fast. So I noticed the DRG was single targetting everything (I could even see his single target procs coming up). So I ask "(DRG name) are you using your AoE moves?" He says "No".... UH HUH... OK. "Can you please use your AoE moves?". He said "ok". So he alternates between single targetting and AoEing throughout all the dungeon, being the lowest DPS.

You could say "Yes, every DPS in DF ever" but that's not all. We reach the last boss and we pull. The DRG is standing still and he says "I'll only use AoE moves in this boss fight, BOSS". I told him to quit his BS and play properly but I meet more childish behaviors "But you asked me to AoE, you just didn't specify". Clearly mocking me and trolling. I was tempted to ask the healer to wipe the fight and kick this guy... but I just wanted to be over with it. He keeps mocking me over and over... I obviously get angry and told them that they should stop pretending to act all smart, to stop being prideful about being bad at the game (He was truly pissing me off). Apparently he got pissed that I asked him to AoE, that I was a bad person because "I fired first". Imagine asking someone to play properly being taken as an insult. So I was like "are you 14?! or 12?!" he said "guess again (smiley face)". We finish the encounter and the other DPS told him "You're 10, get over yourself".

His DPS was terrible, way below mine (as a tank). The other DPS was carrying him too. I told him to just go and play with trusts because he shouldn't get paired with anyone if he's going to keep that mindset.

If this is where a lot of tankxiety comes from, it's needless. I really don't understand this feeling some tanks have that they must control the movements of the entire group. It's not their job, and it's not part of their job to be first through every bit of the dungeon. I don't mind if DPS run ahead of me, especially if they're stopping before engaging any other enemies.

Maybe because I main a healer. My philosophy tends to be you can do whatever you want, but if you die by the time I get there then that's on you (to those groups who sprint far away before I'm ready) and that tends to carry over to when I tank. I don't mind if you run ahead, I don't mind if you pull for me, but don't get angry if we die :) Most of the time the runs are smooth.

I find tanking to be incredibly non stressful actually. As a healer you have to fix all the mistakes but as a tank if you know the mechanics and rotate cooldowns most of the content is really relaxing imo.

I've found that I hate being the first person to call out my puddle in Titania ex because someone always ends up not seeing my call out and calls the same one OR standing in my puddle during the fight lol.

I had a pretty decent group yesterday but when it came to the 2nd puddle phase the other red mage in the party ran to my puddle as I was and so I tried to book it to the other puddle but it was too late and two adds spawned (another part member had the same issue) and we wiped. they then proceeded to tell me to commit to a spot and I politely let them know I had called it out before the fight.

Sadly some didn't feel like giving the group another shot and left and that was that.

Thankfully right after that I ended up in, maybe the best party I've ever been in for a ex trial farm, so it works out! :)

Ran into Shinryu normal via Trial DR with my FC and ran into a strange syncing issue with the fight where the snake knock back pointed in the same direction as the half arena cleave, resulting in six people dying immediately. I've never had that happen before in either normal or EX version so it just seems like we pushed Shinryu past a certain HP% at a bad time? I'm not sure.

Thank heavens for Healer LB3 though >>; Saved the fight though that particular fight was the hardest Shinryu I've ever had to heal, even compared to doing the EX version while it was relevant.

Ah, Mt. Gulg. Had a tank who thought cooldowns were optional, and - as evidenced by his chewing out of the poor healer when he deigned to use one - a reflection of the healer failing to do their job. This was made worse (and better, strangely enough) by his pulling large groups. The DNC saw fit to make him their partner. The same DNC who thought AoE was optional, even in spite of these large, painful (I presume) pulls.

I regret that I could only com the healer, and not do anything more substantial.

As the tank its your job to gather and hold aggro. some also seem to think this means you get to dictate the pace even if everyone is telling you to slow the crap down. if someone feels stressed THEY CAN TELL ME NICELY and I'll listen. as a healer I just go with what I'm given unless I feel like we're not getting anywhere. Really tanking is relaxing. The only thing I need to worry about is my level of stress in any pull. I watch people. if we're going solid, I'll ride with it. if people are killing crap so fast they're getting snooze Time I'll go faster.

Its why if I think its a smarter idea to do small pulls I'll just do that. I know my time math by now, and I'm in no particular rush.

First run of Eden's Gate: Resurrection after the patch hit, main tank. Was pretty fun, really liked the fight. Anyway, I'm sure everyone as a similar story at this point, but it was still hilarious, so...

Zone in, my fellow tank is jumping around with the others, backs into the wall and drops dead. The bard walks into the wall, drops dead at the same time the dragoon does. The white mage starts trying to rez the dragoon, but I see the cast bar stop. The dancer, deciding she wants in on the fun, walks into the wall, followed by the white mage. At this point I'm laughing my head off, the samurai pulls the boss, then commits seppuku (read: runs into the wall). I decide to end it all and join my fallen companions, leaving the scholar all alone for the briefest of seconds. We rez, beat the boss. Still has me chuckling though.

Bit of of a personal failure and the game messing with me, I suppose? Yesterday, first run through Eden's Gate: Inundation, off tank. Get to the point where the boss removes the center of the platform, then does his aoe that covers most of what's left. We're running back towards the boss, get close enough, I plunge... game wants to put me closer to the center which isn't THERE, so I just barely clip the edge, and fell into the pit. I just run back when the fight hits that point, from now on. Too paranoid. >>

Earlier today, trial roulette, get Descent, off tank again. Eventually get a time delayed spelled on me, whatever the name's called. Move away when it's closer to expiring, and... I'm lagging, d/c. Internet goes out for a minute or two, get back on and am removed as I load in. I can see being annoyed if the aoe went off as I d/ced, but there's nothing I could have done about that, so... /shrug.

Anyway, I've had my fair share of off days myself, or derpy moments, so I'm not going to rag on someone else unless they do something REALLY ridiculous. Kind of takes a lot to annoy me...tanks that immediately rush off and pull everything fit the bill. Yes, I've healed big pulls many times with no issues, no, I don't enjoy it. I rarely bother with the leveling roulettes for this reason, even for the once-a-day bonus. On the off chance I choose to join one, I usually get a rush tank, roll my eyes, finish the run and am reminded once again why I stopped running them. Trusts were a boon this expansion, I tell you. >>

Ran leveling yesterday on DNC and ran into a sprout tank and healer in Qarn. Was expecting a long run because of it, but was pleasantly surprised by how skilled they both were. The tank in particular was quite chatty and made a couple hilarious comments. It was a very enjoyable run.

Oof why do so many people avoid using aoe spells.
Did gubal library and the black mage literally used on trashmobs which literally were clumped together fire 4 and blizzard 4, which both are single target skills adsgtftffdr.

I did leveling roulette last night with my PLD and landed in the level 77 dungeon. Got matched with a SCH who used a total of 3 different skills the whole dungeon: Physick, Succor and Indom. No Adlo, no Excog, and no dps spells whatsoever. Possible bot? I find it hard to believe any player could be that bad by level 77.
