I think this logic goes well for both sides - a binding shouldn't exist or should be allowed regardless of sex or gender, for delicacy sake since it seems SE isnt prepared to make a stand it should be called something else (while the visual theme may be the same). The fact SE had to ask for a vote shows that they are either undecided, unprepared, or dont give a damn :P lol.

It would be really exciting for SE to release gender, age, and location distributions in relation to gender and race of in game. How many manthra's to mithra's are there really? lol

I wonder when they will ask us (or if they are going by our representative's reports of the forums).

no that is my point... as the relationships were often with young boys. what I mean is that they would have found them comparable to the point of indifference, so in a very real way they were the same because there was no distinction.

Most people who are pro same-sex marriage would not react to opposite-sex only marriage in the same way people who are a anti same-sex marriage would react if same-sex marriage were to be added. Especially since same-sex marriage hasn't been entirely ruled out, giving proponents hope.

tl;dr the reaction by opponents of same-sex marriage is much more emotionally charged than the other way around.

Its not even an issue. Let people marry which ever character they like regardless of gender.

I don't get it, what does the opinions of Ancient Romans have to do with our own?

Square-Enix is going to remove the possibility of marriage. For one thing, it's silly. For another, it is completely obvious that this is an extremely sensitive issue. Why would they want to do it either way? Allowing gay marriage will offend people, and not allowing it will offend people. Best solution? Nobody wins :)

I guess if you think the opinions of every culture and time everywhere are no to do with ours... but we could say that the opinions of Americans are vastly different than those of Asian cultures (of which has quite a bit to do with this discussion). My point speaks more to the fact that what you believe is really entirely in the eye of the beholder so pretending that an opinion is better because of the country or culture you are in is better, is a little short-sided.

I have friends that believe in "poly-amory", which most of America would believe is terrible along with plural marriage, but do I say that it means my views are better than theirs? Not at all/

This has gotten WAY out of hand. This should not be about religion or morals.

If YOU think it should be... I ask you to refer to my earlier post about cross species marriages.. should those be allowed also?

and please dont say this is a fantasy game and that does not count... because you will be making my point for me.
