lol im sure i have made more than 1 mil in gil in the game on my character however i teleport so much and buy so much i never get ti keep it for more than an hour before its gone and i have to harvest more shards or ore to sell to get more :P
Guys,
SE doesn't randomly ban people. You're being reported for crafting too long, farming too long... etc etc. People think you're bots, report you, and then SE "investigates".
I've got 4m on me and another 1.5 on the marketplace.. I'm one of three crafters on Siren with all crafting jobs 50 and have made my money completely legitimately. I haven't been suspended yet, but if I do I will -not- be a happy customer.
This whole thing is really ridiculous and I hope SE fixes it as soon as possible. I can't believe I'm trusting these people with my money when they've proven totally incompetent at just about everything account related.
Your all crazy, if you think 1,000,000 gil is alot, i only have 130,000 gil at the moment, but i spent alot on relic weapon stuff, but i know people who have 400-500k gil, but no offence 13mil gil yeah that does seem way to much, i would not blame SE for looking at your account.
The problem is that we just entered the HQ iLevel 70 era and they sell for up to 1m gil depending on class (i bet rings should rank near 2m). SE put an auto-ban (if it was manual then not all the richest crafter would have been temp banned) with a certain limit that they thought would be good but failed to anticipate the high value of the first HQ ilevel 70 gear being sold.
Lately I've been making and selling HQ 2-star in several crafts (mostly by order, not on the market), I have both gathering profs at 50 and was one of the pioneers on the relic front early on so I've amassed quite a bit of gil. I wasn't banned today so it wasn't just a sweeping ban of people over 8m, 10m or whatever.
I feel like there's more to this story. Have to wait & see what SE announces.
I surpassed the 15 Million gil mark today.
Hopefully i don't wake up in the morning banned.
Would be my best guess at the moment.Quote:

Rule #1 of bans.
Every single person banned for legitimate reasons (buying gil, botting, exploiting, etc.) will claim innocence 100% of the time in order to scare up mass hysteria and try to get their ban overturned, or simply to spite the company that caught them with their hand in the cookie jar.
Do innocent people occasionally get banned? Yes
Should you believe every single person claiming to be banned wrongfully? Definitely not
Thread lacks common sense. Let's think about this logically.
This economy does not create millions of legit gil. If it did there wouldn't be an economy problem. This means that it should be impossible for a large amount of ppl to make millions of legit gil. There just isn't that much surplus.
The only way for that amount of gil to be created is from rmt. Rmt generate millions of gil, which is transferred to a player, which is then transferred to you when you sell a 2 star item for millions.
Basically "rich" players possess a lot of illegal gil, hence investigation.
All 99 of my leves can generate 1.5 mil gil easily
Wait, what?
The highest gil reward from any leve I've seen varies randomly between 650-750 and allows a triple turn-in. HQ items boost it up to ~2100 gil x 3 = 6300 gil per leve. Of course these are lvl 45 tradecraft leves so your profit is closer to 3 or 4k. Even when speaking about pure gil generation though, 100 leves will only net you 630k.
Where is this 15k gil leve?
Lots of Legacy players started them game with well over 1 mil.....
The best part is that I can't escape the RMT whispers or the gil spam on my server. I somehow doubt they did any ban waves at all on Balmung (as we're legacy), but if they did, they sure did miss the bulk of the RMT guys.
I started game with 2.5 mil, im now on 12 million. This is mainly from selling HQ crafting tools and gear which is piss easy to make and selling some control IV and savage might materias which go for 100k each on hyperion.
Also made a big profit selling HQ vanya silks.
I have about 400 Tier IV cracked and 500 Tier III cracked stockpiled from 1.0.
I was a bit of a hoarder in 1.0 with a mule account and I saved practically everything lol. I can see how new players would struggle to get gil though which is why it boggles my mind that new players come onto a legacy server like hyperion when there are superrich and fully 50 classed players like myself and my friend who can soak up gil (that has a very low generation) from the economy quite easily.
Well then if they are innocent they will get their accounts back, just like the thousands of people who got hacked and haven't had accounts for two+ weeks.
It's obvious SE is going hard at RMT, a lot of innocent people are getting caught up but I bet a ton of guilty people are too.
Really? Because it hasn't made a damn bit of difference on my server. I'm sitting at 140+ names on my Blacklist with more spammers appearing every day (including today) and I got at least 5-10 /tell spam messages today (as well as the teleporting map hacker bots that are still mining and gathering away happily).
I don't know what they caught, but it sure as hell wasn't the majority of the RMT spammers/botters.
A little story about my experience from FFXI.
There were these two players on my server, they both had goldsmithing to 100, and alts with all the crafts to 100.
They had all the best gear but never ran endgame, they paid for everything, these are the kinds of guys that had kraken clubs when they were super rare. People always accused the, of buying Gil and they always denied it said they made their fortune through crafting, they would take screenshots with their alts holding 100's of millions.
When one quit he finally admitted to me that he had spent thousands of dollars on Gil.
The point is everyone claims they make their money legitimately, and I am sure some of them do, however no one is gonna admit cheating and there just isn't enough Gil in circulation to make so many millionaires unless it's from RMT. SE knows this which is why they are banning people. The innocent people will get away free (in a few weeks probably) and the guilty people will get banned.
It may seem rather stupid at first. However, if they only started to do it one at a time a lot of RMT would catch on and try to shift funds around. By blanketing any over 10 mil ( anything less wouldn't be worth a gil sellers times these days) they can then ensure the gil is frozen, and from there investigate. This is only a up to 3 day ban , i'm sure you will be compensated once cleared of being legit or ilegallly gained. If any large chunks of your gil came from RMT buying , ( even other players who bought, not you specifically) it may even be removed from your character.
Where do you see that it's only a 3 day suspension?
They cant ban you if you dont do illegal things... I have a lot of more then 1.000.000gil because our FC sells Primals HM, and i have a Mail from a GameMaster where he told us that it is ok to sell it for ingame Gil.
They wont Ban ppl who dont use any abuses or bugs to get money. Only the one who buy Gil from sellers.
Ahh, see Psycee, you may have hit upon the issue (which may have already been addressed but I'm lazy).
You /sh for a run for 500k. Player X goes to RMT site and buys 500k gil. Player X comes up to you and trades you 500k gil which was purchased for real money, SE looks at the logs and find RMT mule traded 500k to Player X and Player X traded 500k gil to you, SE are just going to examine the logs to see if it's a regular occurrence that people with lots of gil haven't been getting handed money that originated from the RMT mules. As you are obtaining gil regularly without it being from RMT then the logs will show that and you'll be safe, Player X on the other hand will be given a ban.
But then this person is running around with millions in illegal Gil.
Whether it came directly from a RMT or someone who bought a Titan run after they got it from a RMT, it's still not legit Gil.
I imagine that's why many of the crafters have been suspended. They're profiting from people buying Gil illegally.
Maybe not intentionally, but they know that when they charge the prices that they do... not many people will be able to afford it. So if business is good, they much know that some of the money they make is illegal. They become just as guilty.
Well, I don't have gil any where near those numbers so I should be fine. Sometimes being poor is helpful.
I really doubt some of the high level crafters are hand trained / hand farmed. Where they got their gil? Non legacy server don't have such amt of gil to begin with.
if you cannot figure out which leves gives you like 15k+ profit , then you really don't deserve it. Its pretty obvious which one if you are a merchant player.
Hint: Item rewards.
It is legit gil for the person who didn't buy it. RMT obtain the gil (non-legit), Buyer buys it (non-legit), shouter cannot in any way, shape or form control where the gil they obtain come from so it is (for them at least) legit. It's the same as if the Buyer went on to the Market Board and bought a stack of Iron Ore, the money for that is from RMT but the person who put the Ore on the MW has no control over that.
SE are going to go through their logs and find out where all the money came from, if it's from legitimate sources (Market Wards, Quests) then they will release the chars, if the majority is from non-legit sources, a ban. The only worry for /sh's should be if the majority of their clients actually RMT to pay for it
