Seems fine to me. Frankly outside the craftable Moonfire and Coeurl sets i haven't found that many bikinis. I do hope it would be dyeable though since Black doesn't mesh that well with my current self.

Its perfect for beach wear, and as we Aussies are headed into spring soon.....nothing disappointing at all.Quote:
New Moonfire Faire disappointing glamour
Dont be so gloomy...:D
The "wahh" moment? Am I not allowed to voice my personal opinion on the matter? I'm not demanding the devs change something, I'm not threatening to cancel my sub over this or anything like that, which you see in other threads where people DO throw tantrums and being dramatic for no reason. I believe I was respectful in my OP, I didn't call anyone out, I didn't say anything bad about anybody, I was not being aggressive towards any individual or even the devs. So no, it was not a "wahh" moment or me throwing tantrums.
The other thing I will mention is of course glamour items seem to always look worse on male avatars. They're males.
See the blatant fallacy in your observation? I sure do. I personally don't see a distinct connection between female characters and glamour that should by design be good on them because "BUT THEY'RE FEMALES!!!"
That's subjective and I do not agree. 80% of all the battle gear just looks ugly on anybody, but males also do get the uglier version usually.
Also subjective. I like my light and elegant glamours on male elezen, they don't look "troll" or "silly" or out of place, and they sure do look better than if it was on a female character IN MY OPINION.
Wow. That part was completely unexpected for me. Are you even replying to the right person? First of all, I never had any issues with your "gender norms" or whatever, I didn't question it nor did I even say anything about the latter. You want to push your shit on me so bad for no reason. I don't even have to say anything to that, because, surprise, I actually agree with you on this one for the most part, but you decided to be passive aggressive thinking I was some twitter npc pushing my agenda on others when in reality all I wanted was more options for male characters when it comes to glamour.
That's also not true and actually is funny. What would you say about males from 17th century wearing heels and wigs, as well as using cosmetic for their faces while being attractive and desirable to females of that time? What would you say to long dress-like garments for many pieces of fashion in different cultures for males also? The things we wear only represent what people find attractive in this day and age and it was never as simple as you describe. There's no "natural order" when it comes to clothes, the perfect image for male and female fashion is not genetically ingrained in us, it's about human psyche and how we perceive things through it today, and human psyche is very flexible, unlike the rest of our body.
Onwards with passive aggression. Did i say I want to wear a dress? If that was so simple I would've done it. Why be so binary and restrictive in your thinking? You know, we can have things between the general "feminine" and "masculine", and even the feminine and masculine can have different shades of it, but we only get the extremes, not the in-betweens.
I'm a Thighlander so I enjoy showing off the goods, but I'd much prefer the shorts or even a short sarong style skirt instead of another bikini.
It really implies that all the previous Moonfires came with Bikinis which is weird considering that for last 4 years only one did. Considering that at least in the realm of possibility for a newer player there are at least for where I am (Post SB, level 70 crafter) only two pieces of that (craftable Moonfire and Coeurl) I won't say no to another in a different style to those
Saw my first blossoms today walking down to the woolies. Yesterday they were not there, so they'e popped open overnight. A few more days, I guess, and it should be fully out!

"Once in the last four years" doesn't count when two of the last four years didn't have any kind of glamour legwear.
The issue isn't objectively how many bikinis exist as glamour, but how many times when there is beach glamour it is assigned along fixed gender roles – and for that matter, the same logic being applied to other equipment.
In fact, on further thought they used to be more equal about it, and both genders got equally skimpy beach outfits – and now the male outfits have turned more comfy and covered-looking and the female version hasn't changed in the same way.
Could it be because the majority of people like it that way?
I for one don't care about the male long trousers, and very much prefer being given a cute bikini for my female characters. I have the feeling it's just a noisy minority complaining and dictating how everyone else should feel.
I'm sorry if anyone personally doesn't like the glamour for any reason, but it's impossible for something to be liked by everyone. I certainly don't throw a fit whenever they release glamours I don't like for my characters.
The frustration comes from the fact that in some areas, they are recognising that people want to access "the other gender's" outfit style, and putting work into making those designs equippable by everyone.
And then we get this new glamour where they only put out one single item that drastically changes according to gender, when all they need is to give us separate "beach shorts" and "beach briefs" items so everyone can choose. You can have your bikini, and my character can have cute summery patterned shorts, and the person who wants their male character wearing speedos can have that too.
No it isn't. I'm not asking for everything else to be duplicated – the other pieces aren't really different anyway, besides the necessity of men's vs women's shirts (so it actually is gendered versions of a single top, whereas the bottoms are very different items).
All I want different is a second option for legwear – and I don't think there's that much extra model to build for those anyway. They'll already have a model for women's pants and men's briefs that they can add the pattern to.
US tax rate is much, MUCH lower than ours here.
You want subsidized health care (that's what the Nordics have, it's not free) start paying half your income in taxes for it.
I wouldn't want the government handling my health care in the US anyway. Have you SEEN how they run VA health??
On top of it, the quality of care and wait times here are BS. Six month wait for a hearing appointment for hearing aids. SIX MONTHS.
But we're off topic.
Still praying for a day when swimsuit bottoms are no longer gender locked so females can actually have swim shorts/trunks and males can have more silly speedo options.
So, are ignoring how much we also pay for health insurance? Which can then refuse to cover things for arbitrary reason?
I've had a cavity in one of my molars for eight months. It could've been a simple filling and crown, but my insurance has been waffling on it. Now it's a root canal, and it still took two months after that diagnosis to get an appointment. And my insurance is still making me foot a good chunk of the bill. And I actually have good dental coverage, otherwise I'd be responsible for the entire bill.Quote:

I pay way more in insurance premiums deducted from my paycheck than I would for additional taxes under pretty much any proposed Medicare For All plan (which is what they have to call single-payer advocacy here to avoid being called commies) and have to deal with fighting the insurance company to cover something as simple as a broken arm.
HA! "US quality care" only exists for the obscenely wealthy. The rest of us are called "drug seekers" for asking for anything that actually impacts pain and doesn't destroy your liver (did you know that Tylenol/Aceitaminophen/Paracetamol has a maximum lifetime dosage?)Quote:
I\\'d prefer US quality care, personally.
Meanwhile in Japan I made an appointment to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed in a matter of weeks, and when they realized I wouldn’t be able to work for a week, I got compensated for that.
Rather than pay for anything, I was given about 1,000 USD. And my taxes aren’t THAT bad, rather big companies pay their fair share.
It’s the weirdest story ever when talking to my American family “I tell y’all bout the time they PAID ME to remove my teeth!?”
Something vastly different then reusing the exact style as so many other items already in game IS what this game needs.
For those that like repetition and this style then thats excellent!
Those females that want to wear the shorts ... should be able to as well!
But for all that is holy.. ffs SE... time for some HIGH heels!! smh SE, add some in the mog station. Even 1 pair that we can dye. It is NOT alot to ask for.
We have 29384745276238 similar styled sandals + shoes already .
so lazy, fail Yoshi-P
I'd like more high heels too, especially since the lore says that Viera fems need them because of the different way their feet are structured.
I dimly recall that the problem with high heels in FFXIV is that your shoes do not change your character's height. Instead, the heel height alters the length of the character's calf. Which can look weird if taken too far.
The exception seems to be Viera fems, who are designed to accommodate the Viera tribal high-heeled sandals by having longer baseline calves. When those characters wear normal heals, the lengthier calf doesn't look as bad as a shortened calf would, especially given the long limbs Viera already have.
Another issue is that Viera high heels, according to my spouse, change the movement animations, similar to the effect high heels have in the real world. So it is possible that SE has two sets of movement animations for Viera fems -- one for high heels, one for normal heels. Whether they are willing to also do that for all the other races is a good question.
However, if high heels are introduced, I would support not letting Lalas wear 3" or higher heals. Ever. It's WRONG, and we all know it!
Not nothing but the level of effort is something that can be handed to an intern.
Note that I'm making an assumption: The shorts look like they share the same geometry (shape) as existing pieces (eg. Pagos Gaskins). The hard parts of implementing gear are creating the shape, animating it, creating depth maps, and mapping the texture (patterns and colors).
All of that's been done so all they need to do is fit the texture to the female geometry. In many cases no adjustment is needed. Similarly the bikini texture can be applied to any of the existing speedo models.
But, it may not be "effort". They've cried poverty before over putting things into the armoire. Yet more code in desperate need of a refactor if not rethink.

These don't seem to want to show in the thread, but some gifs of flat shoes vs. viera heels.
I took these in gpose, so the angle isn't 100% identical, but pretty darn close ;)
Better than the 2B boots, anyway.
