Ishgardian Restoration world visit.

Right now I'm locked out again, although this time I'd decided I really can't be bothered with all this bobbins, and have ignored it most of today, but just wanted to turn in some collectables I'd made. Thing is, as soon as I zoned into Foundation, I'm reading players insulting other players, arguments of a generally malcontent nature. Only one or two were trying their best to calm things down. I'm too old for this crap and I've parked myself in an inn room to wait for the stupid to go away.

The situation has deteriorated. Fix it asap, pls. Thanks.

At least by the time I've punted this post into the thread it should be somewhat quiet once more.

Just wanted to thank SE for a swift response. I'm not saying no one can or cannot have issues now, just that I'm glad they're in contact with us. Communication is a rough thing since it's easy to be like "I don't want to hear your excuses, fix it anyways", but I want to hear from SE and even if sometimes it feels painful to talk to us I just wanted to say I'm glad.

Anyway, everyone carry on describing your issues and hopefully we'll get to the bright light at the end of whatever tunnel we're in. Which might be an extra long and dark tunnel for me since I'm fairly certain we are building more of my least favorite type of housing lol (looks just like a housing Ward). Watching/helping it grow as the restoration system expands and improves should be fun at least. I do like the DoH/DoL changes so far and have had fun messing around with them, and I've always enjoyed watching a location change (huge fan of area growth/visual feedback).

Instead of a 3 minute fate that only those present at a specific time get to take part in, why can't the fate just be present for that 10 hour no-progress period (2 hour wait for the fate + the 8 hour wait for the next leg after) and restrict people to only getting credit once? That gives people time to partake without having to flood the instance at one exact point in time. Ideally it would be a 24 hour period after a leg has finished to allow for people on various schedules to get in on it, but that 10 hour window is better than a few minutes. As devs you should know better by now. You've seen it with the special fates that reward mount/pet/etc currency causing zone lockouts. This isn't new, please stop designing things to prevent participation.

Great comment here. The up front communication is what puts SE above other games developers IMO. I don't believe Blizzard devs tell their community anything apart from when they might be selling new merchandise.

After trying the Ishgard Rebuild for awhile I can see the introductory nature to it and its enjoyable enough crafting that I am certain I will eventually unlock all of the new script rewards. Looking forward to future instalments and the possibility of high level crafting to yield better rewards. E.g. Crafting raids.

Well, I missed one day, and now I've missed an entire phase of restoration on my home server. Why are phases so quick?

Upfront??? They ignore anything that puts them in a bad light usually or resources,manpower, or some other generic excuses. They literally can put a precanned response. I am not sure what Blizz is like now, but they had 1000X better community interaction up to and during LK. Actual discussions and interactions about decisions.


Let us also look at it this way. He says they did think this might be a problem. A real response would have issued a statement before the patch went live and a notice to the players they would take measures. Right now nothing has happened and they are hoping it blows over. Most content in this game is finished in days if a week. So literally he is going to wait till it is mostly done and they say it has settled.



I am more disturbed by the strange almost cult like support, then the actual problem in the game.

I strongly agree with the reasons why you made this happen. As with my previous feedback about the Ishgardian Restoration the only real suggestions I have to help with this is:

1. Add a collectable appraiser outside of the instanced firmament
2. Make the 'Fate' a temporary instance that is 'Queued' for or that multiple instances can be spawned/created for.
3. Allow the Progress meter to be seen outside of the instanced area.

The toxicity is getting worse. Had several people admit they don't care about the scripts, they are just there to "takes spots" or to harass others, and how they are all better then the server they are on.

Report anyone who admits they are there to harass others.

The banter on my world so far was mostly light hearted during the 1st concerted works, some wanderers were trying to annoy people before they got out talked by everyone and eventually went quiet. I reported the few who were deliberately trying to annoy people.

This entire thread is like seeing an Ul'dah child throwing a tantrum because they got 270 presents for their nameday instead of 300 like last year. And it has not even been 3 days.

This is not Eureka, this is not Stormblood launch.

And yet the complaints have the same essence as though it were so.

Every consumer has the right to be upset and launch a formal complaint or write a negative review. But you know what just looks silly?

Writing in a way that translates to stamping one's feet, hollering and waving your arms around.

Why not simply make work that wanderes get kicked out when a person from the world wants to enter? Like if there are 200 wanderes inside and 150 citizens of the world come along 150 wanderes get kicked out. That way low pop server would still get their help if needed and ppl would be able to take part. Heck do the setting that the kick list goes by normal participation meaning thos with lowwest contribution get kicked first this way wanderes would add something instead of only leeching the fates

I have been, there's just been so many!

The timer just started on Exodus.. I'd really like to go out and gather for the next stage, but I know I won't get back in if I do, so I AFK for an hour.
Someone said you can run duties and remain here, but I don't trust that I'll be allowed back in if it's full when I try to return.

I contributed to two stages when the bar was still being filled on my own server. Missed the first FATE because I was in Copied Factory but managed to join the second FATE, and I was only able to get silver because the last 30+ seconds were wasted on the objects not loading. The lag was insane.

The same problems that affect hunts now affect this content as well. Spawners not getting a guaranteed spot, world visitors filling the instance before server inhabitants can make it and bad scaling with large player numbers that leads to active participants not getting full credit. At least the spawn time gets announced beforehand, that is one improvement I'm thankful for.

There should be a priority system: home server people who contributed > the rest of the home server > visitors who contributed > the rest of visitors. Also please improve the object positioning, FATE mechanics or scaling so that the amount of players in one spot doesn't stop us from interacting with objects while the FATE is quickly melting.

I've tested it and you get put back into the Firmament upon completing a duty. I can't confirm that it would work every time, but the times I've done it and seen others mention it, they get put back in.

Well obviously when you world visit fate rewards can be locked to the world they're on I guess. I don't know what else to say.

Or maybe have wanderers from other servers only get a gimped reward, but that could potentially keep them there longer.

I dunno I'm just trying to think of solutions.

I agree that lower population servers should be able to receive help from players from other Worlds in order to ensure that their concerted works succeed. However, I feel this measure is completely unnecessary on Worlds with higher populations considering the numerous issues it has caused thus far. Therefore going forward I would personally hope that there would be some way to mark certain worlds as "In Need of Assistance" for the Ishgardian Restoration as well as a way to mark others as "No Assistance Necessary" (or at least something similar). Maybe it could depend on whether or not a world is classified as "Congested", "Standard", or "Preferred"?

Regardless, something does need to be done. I'm grateful for Yoshia-san's transparency and reassurances about the direction of the Ishgardian Restoration moving forward, but this is an important issue that needs addressing soon! It is causing many players to completely miss out on the server-wide camaraderie that this event helps evoke. I'm sure the development staff are well aware of all of the issues. I just hope we get a fix before Patch 5.2, even if it's only a band-aid fix.

as someone who comes from a low-pop server, we don't want world visit either! do not let world visit happen in OUR ISHGARD RESTORATION.

last night, i finally got home from work, and i was unable to actually get into the instance at all for over 2 hours.

Missed phase 2 completion on my own world because of this congestion nonsense. Waiting on those fail safes... I think the situation is pretty dire.

Players from the FATE server should have priority to enter before the FATE start, then it opens for world visit during the FATE.

It is quite sad at how true this statement is...


A stormblood launch, even when there was an AFK kick system, people were exploiting ways around it to stay online so that they wouldn't have to go through the queue...

This led to the server's hitting their maximum capacity of people online, and people in the queue not being able to actually get into the game.
As the server couldn't let someone in until someone else logged out.

It was so bad that there was one day where I woke up logged in put myself in a queue, then I left with my family to go sort through stuff at our Grandpa's house, and after that we went to a fancy Japanese steakhouse, and by the time I got home 5 hours later I'd been online for 15 minutes.



The devs eventually force restarted every server a bit before prime time to ensure all the selfish exploiters were cleared out and the problem stopped.

The queues still had huge numbers of people in them, but they progressed in minutes instead of hours.

It will be interesting if you can release a data where you can see how much <<wanderer>> help moving the progression bar on a low pop server, assumig you have that data of course, since many people are doubtful

I don't mind wanderers coming to my high-pop world as long as I can go to theirs.
Look at it this way -- In my world, the hand-in bar progresses really fast it is impossible to see every stage of the restoration even with my flexible schedule. Without world visit, I would be missing a lot on this content and I like to be participating in all the stages, witnessing all the developments.
Maybe just implement a weekly limit to scrips? People who only target scrips would go crazy on Tuesday night, just like hunts but it'll die down in a day or so.

Here's my thoughts.

This IS a good system as clearly this is gonna be housing related and you're going to want the whole DC on the same page at roughly the same pace. Some servers are small fries when it comes to crafting or the few crafters there wouldn't want to put in the effort when they could just do other stuff if they have it all leveled so yeah, let everyone on the DC help all the servers. But it could use some love ....

1- Reduce the amount of scripts you get form the fate. Right now you can have people who afk for an hour or half an hour on a different server just for the fate because unless you have a level capped craft job and gather job it's just the fastest way to get scripts. Why do run around to gather mats or buy mats just to craft turn in and get a tiiiiny amount of scripts (or decent amount if you do the level 80s I guess) when the fate gives you 500 for doing next to nothing outside of being there at the right time? Make them a max of 75 or 100. A decent chunk but not worth waiting an hour for.

2- In PVP if you're AFK for like a min it get's ready to boot you. Have something like that but not as harsh. Not sure if they can treat this like eureka where the game just pops you into a new instance and populates that when an old one is full but that would be nice..

3- Require people meaningfully contribute to the cause on a server before they can get in on a fate if they're not from that server. This was a tricky one, you want to reward people for helping from other servers but you also want to reward people for the work they put in ... so this would make it so that if someone from a different server wants to take a spot for the fate they need to have had some meaningful amount of turn ins or else they can be booted in favor of someone who has.

Not even gonna bother hoping for the fate. I'll just grind a few levels when I get bored and worry about the rewards when I get around to it. Filthy casual mode, go!

Plus, I already got the main reward I wanted anyway.

Thank you Yoshi-P for addressing these concerns. It's always amazing to give feedback and actually get some form of communication in return. Thank you as well to everyone on the FFXIV team for all your time and work you give us. It's truly amazing to see content release that makes everyone play together for an objective, and pack an area so tightly we have this issue, I can't wait to see how it works when it's all fleshed out and done. I recently picked up crafting and gathering seeing this content coming and I'm excited to try it out as soon as I'm able to. Thank you guys again very much for the game and keep it up! We believe in you guys!

The issue of wanderers camping The Firmament was in full force for me and my friends earlier tonight. While I myself wasn't even able to access the zone from a half hour before the Concerted Work began, people I know who did get in early faced other problems. Another user did not have the objects you need to interact with to contribute to the Fate load in properly, resulting in them receiving no credit.

The World Visit system is great for shopping, but in terms of this, Home World players should be #1 when it comes to participating in this event, vs allowing those from other worlds in here. So if someone from Adamantoise wants to come in, someone from another world should be booted out so that the Home World player can take part in the event.

People from the Home World should be given priority over Wanderers.

People from other servers blocking a home server is ridiculous. More than 45 minutes before the FATE this evening on my server is available, and the Firmament is congested.

Over 45 minutes of being locked out of The Firmament.

I get you want to see if it has escalated, well it's gotten steadily worse from what I've seen so far on my server.

I have no issues with people from other servers participating in events to help or to get extra rewards - that's not the issue.

But having AFK Wanderers standing around in The Firmament doing nothing but blocking someone else - including not even participating in the FATE - is a joke. Put a timer on AFK people, restrict access to The Firmament and allow handins at the Aetheryte in Ishguard. Add instances of the FATEs. SOMETHING.

They need to add two more instances and it would solve most of the issues we have atm. Surprisingly they didn't really think it through that one would be enough and especially give the fate itself awards so many scripts it's an easy way to get them by hopping from server to server when the time comes. The hunt train mentality has really taken hold with them.

Not sure how difficult it is to add instances but I would think they could address that pretty quickly in an emergency maintenance.

Not necessarily, because you would just have more Wanderers coming in and hogging up spots for Home Worlders. Even WITH instances.

Did a custom search of AFK players in Gilgamesh's Firmament. Got 115 hits and that's only for players that haven't disabled their AFK status from being applied after a time. For what it's worth, 23 were wanderers.

Edit: Did another search about 25 minutes after the previous one (one minute before the FATE) and got 54 hits and it was dropping by the second, so yes, people are AFKing for the FATE

Edit #2: Did a search on Siren at what was supposedly 40 minutes before the FATE and saw 110 AFKs, with 47 being wanderers. The area was congested and you could not enter at that time

Just annoying that most casual players can't do this. Seems like SE relax policy on bots have only exponentially made this problem worse with the lack of instance , afks, and server only. One friend of mine will probably unsubscribed and wait till the next patch as this is a mess and wanted help leveling crafters. I am almost tempted to unsubscribe too but I raid and won't let my other friends down.:(

Yeah, this is pretty sad. I didn't fully unlock the firmament yet and had gone out to do something else real quick last night. And apparently, our server's fate was up in like a little under 2 hours and when I tried to go back in to complete the quest, I could not. I was forced to go to another server just to do so, which I feel I shouldn't have to.

Reading shout chat in my server's firmament before the FATE starts, and it's (again) composed of people from off-world bragging about getting in, how they didn't contribute and are here solely for the FATE, etc. Things are dire NOW, Yoshi P. I do appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a game like this, but it really is ridiculous that this happened to begin with, and that - somehow - it currently isn't seen as a problem. It's been proven time and time again, that if something can be exploited, many less conscientious people will take advantage of it. Those of us that don't engage in this server hopping garbage shouldn't be forced to wait for those that do to profit off our work before we can even gain access to our own server's firmament.

Not wanting to miss out again, I've been sitting in the firmament for well over an hour and a half, crafting food items when I ran out of restoration mats. I would have gone out to farm more if area congestion due to the huge influx of wanderers wasn't an issue. And to those that try to excuse this behaviour... I'd rather stay in here and deny a server hopper a spot for something they never contributed to. Absolutely absurd, this whole situation.
