So disappointed about the hair thing... I was waiting it to happen so I could go back to Viera but there is no way I am abandoning the hairs I have bought and earned, pretty sure I have all the exclusive ones so yeah, NOPE.

Eh, I'm a BRD main and haven't really had many issues with it. I honestly love the changes to the gameplay - even if the 'songs' aren't actually buffing the party as they used to. I would rather Apex Arrow turned into Apex Ballard, though - an attack that also givesa weak buff/debuff to the boss that boosts players DPS. Only a small boost, like 5%. Yeah, as of right now only Apex Arrow is the one thing in the BRDs arsenal that it just 'meh'
The only thing I think bard really needs is an AoE dot spread, like summoner's Bane. It's weird how the job depends so much on dots and yet can't efficiently spread them on multiple targets.
I thought this as well, was rather disappointing to find it didn't. Especially since with the AoE, you need to have both dots on the enemy for it to have the full effect. The time you take applying both dots on that one enemy could easily be time put into dotting another enemy to get multiple tics and wittle another enemies health down. I guess it's still a damage increase but it just 'feels' wrong.
I too am disappoint. I thought this LL for sure would finally give us to answer to the question we all need to know.
Which is how much creamer YoshiP puts in his coffee?
I really just want Japanese players opinions and questions cause they seem to be the only ones wanting a better game and not to cater to some "Social Agenda".
What I want:
1. More diversity in dungeon mechanics.
I want to see dungeon mechanics that go beyond: pull group, kill group, once in a while grab a thing. Give me some (non-static) puzzles.
Make me explore the dungeon a bit. Give me s boss room with three entrances, but only one of them is open, let me not know which path to take.
One of my favorite dungeons has a mechanic where you have to lure a giant head onto a platform to kill it. Why does nothing like that show up again?
Give me some different boss mechanics. Give me a boss that explodes into a dozen snakes that have to be lured together onto a plate so they turn back into a whole monster. Or a monster that splits into two each time it is killed.
Don't just make me tank and spank.
2. Give me more roles to play.
I'm tired of just Tank/Healer/DPS give me some new roles.
3. Give me more customization options.
Not every level 73 Paladin should have the *exact* same abilities. Some should be better at tanking, some should do more DPS, I should be able to customize myself more.
you may want more options but they are useless because people only use the best skills and the fastest route to clear content and because ninja is not op anymore, I have not seen a single ninja in shadow bringers.
You will NEVER see that in dungeons. Why? You can't even get people to slow down or get all the rooms opened in dungeons NOW. Once the playerbase finds the fastest way possible that is ALL you're going to get. All other options WILL be skipped. Again, the old dungeons with more rooms now. People WILL skip all options and go for the fastest easyist way possible.
Via the Wiki - Bards inspire allies to battle forward with melodies of soothing, strengthening or healing properties.
Born as archers, these minstrels learned how to evoke magicks to empower their allies' spirits, greatly boosting their prowess in battle.
This is not what it is anymore.
BRD sucks butt right now. Don't care the numbers but I care about how fun a job is.
Went from boring support - Bowmage/Support - Support - Bland range DPS with very little support.
Why do they hate "support/utility" now? SB BRD was the best DPS in this game for me. I was so disappointed in 2.0
when BRD wasn't as supportive as I wanted it to be, finally filled that spot in 4.0 just for it to be another boring,
whack DPS that got shafted out it's utility and most of the utility is on DNC.
Don't gut a job so it can be shifted into another job.
That's why you make the dungeon boss have multiple entry points and randomly determine which one is open. So you have to explore to find the right one each time.
Yeah, I'm just not feeling that. Like I said, maybe for a deep dungeon (side content) something like that could be cool with more variation.
As a regular dungeon people would probably purposefully avoid it if it is too in depth, and if it isn't it would just be effectively the same thing as every other dungeon with it's only difference being scenery. As a part of the regular dungeon rotation a dungeon like that would just serve to waste time; overall pointless.. Even if it is good, it would wear out it's welcome quick. If you make the rewards good, but the instances bad people will grudgingly do it, but complain the entire time - eureka for example. Eureka however got a lot of hate because your relic was tied to it.
also "puzzle solving" would give people the need to want to solve it themselves
While in a roulette people are just gonna want to get it done asap and just mess up the purpose of it
i would not mind if 50/60/70/80 to be different from leveling dungeon in some way instead of just "we are the same type of dungeon just with terrible exp"
as a alternative to deep dungeons it would be cool
Yes, this is my thinking. As a regular dungeon people wouldn't even bother to actually solve the puzzle, probably just look up a YouTube guide or something, memorize it, and not actually do it themselves (this would happen either way). They brought up Qarn as an example, and I'll use that as well, people purposefully fail that puzzle even now and just kill the extra adds to progress. Nobody cares and they just want to get done with the dungeon.
I think a deep dungeon would be the most logical place to put this. Lower levels with more simple puzzles or variation, higher levels progressively get harder and more in depth. Side content, but people would use it for exp, so the content would actually get played. They cannot be too difficult or most people will just avoid it altogether. I think deep dungeons need more variation anyway, they are extremely boring and samey, in my opinion.
I will add, if they decided to do an entire new type of dungeon - harder variants of what we have - I think that could also be a good place to put it. The reward structure would have to be good enough for people to do it however.
"Adjusting display priority is impossible"
That's possibly one of the most disappointing things I learned from all the questions they answerered.
With a lot of problems the JP even share our view just that they talk less about it. Heck sometimes they are even more harsh, calling something dirt or even wanting Yoshida to step down. So we might be louder (but thats not surprising seeing how we have many different cultures and dont have the "beware your face" mentality) but that does not mean that our opinions change much.
Jp people didnt use the forum as much as en, they are lous in 5ch and twitter
I wouldn't bother quoting MrKusakabe because chances of a reply are near zero.
Not naming and shaming, but in another thread he stated:

Ehhhh, I dont know about that.Quote:
Many MMO players would kill to get this type of stuff SE does with QnA and Live Letters
Things Squeenix covers in liveletters are covered by most other Devs as forum announcements, forum conversations or on PTR/Beta realms, all of which 14 avoids like the plague.
We put up with 6 months worth of "tee hee we arent giving you all the info, please to be looking forward to it" prior to an expansion where EVERY other major mmo (except runescape) makes all of that available to everyone in one sitting about that many months out, and lets people interact with it before the patch or expansion launches.
I consider "thats something we dont know if we can do" a non answer. If you ask yes or no questions and get "if the stars align perfectly we might consider it" as an answer, you didnt actually learn anything.
Theres no third leg to the trinity in 14. Its a binary here. Theres no reliable crowd control to speak of.Quote:
I would love a True Support Role but FFXIV is stuck in the holy Trinity system
Because that would have made it 3 female only outfits back-to-back while the guys get nothing in particular because you have far more interesting and unique designs for female NPCs in this game, as far as hair+clothes combo goes.
Update 1: Aymeric set (Hair is not exclusive to the guys, doesn't have pants, doesn't have boots, doesn't have hat) + Edda set (Is a full, five piece set)
Update 2: Hien set + Lyse set (comes with genderlocked earrings)
Update 3: Gosetsu set (is a full set)
Update 4: Minfilia set (doesn't have gloves, doesn't have shoes, doesn't have hat)
Update 5: Y'shtola's 3rd mog outfit
Seems like we are getting Krile's outfit too at some point, according to datamining, which will also be female exclusive. And I am pretty sure we'll also be seeing Ryne's oufit becoming available at some point as well. If you add Lyse's alternate outfit as well while most guys in this game just wear generic job/dungeon/craft gear... Oof.
I don't mean to start a gender fight, but I think you understand what I'm trying to say, and why the devs maybe just complete ignore requests such as some NPC outfts, even though I do enjoy the clothing and think it would look gorgeous on most women in this game. The sad part is: I can't think of something that would be equaly interesting to me as a guy to wear, with the same enthusiasm the girls (and guys that play girls) have for Y'shtola's, Krile's, Yotsuyu's, Ryne's, Alisaie's and Lyse's wardrobe because there really isn't much. Apart from Hien, Thancred pre-Shadowbringers, Aymeric and Emet, most important men in this game look like they came from the nearest market board, while most women look absurdly unique in their wardrobe design.
