Ok, 2 quick questions...
When checking FC status page on the Lodestone, is the gil balance displayed along with all stored items ok for everyone?
Also, has anyone heard of any FC gil balances being taken?
Asking because I just checked out my FC page and it's displaying all the stored items as it should, but it's saying the gil balance is 0gil :( Really hoping it's just a website glitch...

On a side note though we can't really blame SE for this speaking as a programmer if you know how to hack and break lines of codes it is fairly easy to back door into a program and modify it to your needs. I'm guessing all the RMTs would really need to get a hold of is your online ID your ISP details and then use what ever program they made to spam buy a certain item on the market boards using the packets that the game send and receives to the client.
Nothing is ever secure once you know the algorithms used even if they used something like SHA-256 to encrypt data it may end up pointless as this type of encryption is now easily crackable if you know what your doing. -

One should also take note of the fact that the only reason this RMT business exists is because there are people willing to break the rules and buy in-game currency from 3rd parties. If people want to buy something, there is a market for it, legal or not.

So, while sitting at work, I read this entire thread. From 6am-8am is pretty slow for me, basically I just sit here and make sure my employees aren't goofing off until trucks start coming in. I never saw an "Insufficient gil" message pop up while I was playing, so I assume I am good. No one seemed to report money disappearing from their retainer, just off their person, so I'm good there too. I know SE said they will refund the affected, but I haven't heard anyone confirm they have been refunded yet and I am worried about the timetable they plan to use in doing so. I feel sorry for anyone this happened too, truly. I don't know what I would do if I had to break it to everyone in my FC that the money we have been working on SO HARD to amass for housing in December is just gone... -

By this logic it's not all that hard to send a command to the server that withdrew all gil from your retainers first. I just hope this begins to deter the people who buy from the gil sellers.
Before this the gil sellers were simply annoying spammers to most of us. Sure, their constant tells were frustrating, but they didn't really effect you overall. They almost seemed harmless. However now after this vile, clearly well planned and organized attack, we have all seen what these people are really capable of. They aren't there to help you, as a way to just give you a little in game boost, they are nothing more than parasites and we need to eradicate them from this game.
Square-Enix can only do so much, ultimately it comes down to us. They operate on supply and demand. So if we stop demanding, they stop supplying. -
