No, i'm saying it because as I look at queing for it as a dps in raid finder, its a 20 min wait. There are only five pf adverts and half are farms, and all are waiting for healers. I totally agree with the OP! This fight is huge, mentally and physically tiring... probably one of the worst trials for me.
I think Byakko was much easier and a lot of fun.
After two days 99% of parties are DUTY COMPLETE. Do some serious progression with a regular composition is almost impossible, because people give up after 10 tries in half an hour. There are not difficult mechanics to understand, is just dodge dodge dodge. If the healer get killed or stun it’s basically a wipe because won’t be possible to get back on track, as a healer I gave up because from PS4 Esuna 3 ppl at the time it’s overwhelming. Most of ppl are trying to clear now with 1 healer and 3 tanks in a endless fight.
Doesn’t seem a fun, special event to enjoy and get cute stuff but a rush against the time. Bad designed and I hope will be the last lol -

Find like-minded people to practice with in PF instead of relying on Raid Finder. That was your first mistake and by now, you should know better. No one goes through Raid Finder to practice, they set up learning parties first and if you don't see a learning party, you make one yourself. It's not hard work, you just don't want to take the initiative in setting it up. Any time I want to attempt a new EX whatever, I've gone through PF and either joined or made a learning party myself. I did it for Tsuki until I had her on farm....and I've been sitting on 99 totems for over a month at least by now.
Stop making or finding excuses to limit everything or have it catered towards your personal difficulty specifications. You certainly don't represent the casual fanbase no more than I represent the raiding fanbase.
Saying that it's not working well as intended only means that it's not working for you when clearly, plenty of other people are fine with it. -

I haven't killed EX yet but I have done a fair few pulls. I have not played any of the Monster Hunter games.
With the above in mind, the main problem I see is the fight appears to be designed for players who control characters with high mobility. But this is something FFXIV doesn't have. Sprint has a super long cooldown, only some classes have abilities that help them get out of an area fast but they have a long cooldown, and nobody is able to roll. So we're left with little more than basic movement for a fight that very much appears to demand more.
The mobility issue is amplified by server ticks randomly going against you. There are times I dodge fine, and there are other times I appear to dodge fine but I get hit anyway. I'm hoping this was a latency issue because it was patch day. I rarely have issues dodging anything in this game telegraphed or not, but the server ticks sometimes punished me hard on Rathalos EX.
I think the idea for the fight is super cool, but it is a bit dull that we tackle 90% of the fight by just running around. Extra buttons to do things like roll and jump would have greatly added to the dynamic that avoidance is key to winning. -

I mean what ppl want is the mount and a little pig lol It suppose to be easy and quick like Moonfire event or Yokai but honestly it take ages to progress, ppl give up after 10 tries and it’s a pretty difficult fight if not habit to MH strategies. Right now with SIGMASCAPE uncapped most of endgame player are focusing on logs/books runs and it definitely disappoints being forced spend one hour to get a scale :(Quote:
