I chose BRD for swift gameplay, if I wanted to cast I would have chosen a Mage.

Here, an example for you:
Let's give positionals to all your heals. If you get them right, you'll heal normally. If you don't do your positionals, you'll heal as if you were in cleric stance. If you're healing at melee range, we will give you a bonus. Now, go have fun with a play style that you never asked for.

Oh, and let's make the brand new healer job the same, so there's no variety at all.

As for the Astral/Umbral/OoM interrupt thing, well thats always been a BLM thing. You kind of just learn how to roll with it. But its also been there FROM DAY ONE. It wasnt just something that started being a thing once you hit level 50+....
Bard has to pretty much relearn how to play entirely (especially if they've never played a caster class).

And in regards to the person who said WM is toggle-able. It is to an extent, its instant to put it on, but you must wait the 15sec recast time in order to toggle it off. So at times that can be a pain having to wait for the cooldown to end to be able to take it off. Its not like cleric stance where I can just turn it off whenever I want, and wait for its recast to come up again. Gauss Barrell is also the same in this regard.

Thats ridiculous if anything.

Black mage can afford casting an extra fire 1 because if the fight is long the will never run out of mana

As a machinist you want to use 1 in your 1-2-3 combo as little as possible, because it drains your tp soo much when you don't get procs

The point was that if you have in interruption (i.e. the real issue with cast times), nobody cares and you continue on where you left off. When BLM has interruptions, gameplay sometimes stop for up to 10 seconds. And the above example isn't even talking about obvious stuff, like moving for mechanics or to dodge AOE.


Also do you even play healer? It's exactly the same as cleric stance, but cleric stance recast is 6 seconds. Not sure where you're getting this " I can just turn it off whenever I want" thing. If you use cleric and have to immediately heal due to a damage spike, then you are stuck in cleric for almost 3 GCDs.

Yes I do play healer and have never had issues taking off cleric stance in order to pump out a heal, Do you play bard?
Because I assure you I tested this online yesterday while talking to a fellow bard.
Wanderer's Minute is instant to PUT ON. But takes the full 15sec recast timer before you can TURN IT OFF.

Cleric stance is instant to put on, instant to take off, but takes the recast timer before you can put it back on.

Having a different way of managing resources doesn't mean that bard didn't out damage BLM on movement heavy fights. Having infinite has nothing to do with it. The gameplay interruption and actual effect on DPS does.

I don't know about MCH procs, but no BLM waits around to see if Firestarter decides to show up. You go directly into your next Fire and hit Firestarter after. It's not ideal of course, because you can potentially waste a proc by doubling up, but we don't live in an ideal world :p A reasonable fix would be to have these kinds of procs off gcd (and usable mid-cast), or have a system whereby you can "store" them kind of like wrath on WAR, but maybe only 2 at a time. In the meantime. just spam that split shot and proc whenever you can.

On-topic: I like caster BRD, it's a bit more old school FF. But that's just me ;)

Yet you don't realize it's exactly the same as cleric, but the recast is seconds? You can turn on cleric anytime. You can only turn it off after the 6 seconds after you turn it on. Also, bard was my first class to 50 in 2.0 so yeah....
