Exactly this. In a game where the new player will literally skip low-mid tiers and go straight for decent-good stuff ( sold/shiva weaps, sold/ironworks/ha gears ), it makes 0 sense to have this abomination of a questline still hanging around. Nothing has done as much damage to this game as the relic quest( atma-nexus only ofc ). Still freaking seeing this crap in PFs....Quote:

They made the Relic quest a succession of increasingly ridiculous grinds. If they don't reset it and start over in Heavensward, new players will literally never be able to catch up.

People can farm soldiery weapons in an afternoon, yet they have to start relic questline right at the start? Atma was ok even not nerfed, animus was horrendous, novus was somewhat ok but nexus was disgusting. Playing even everyday that takes way too long to do.Quote:

I guess some people would regard relic quests as fun. Only 1st relic was truly fun. Atma was arguably fun in a kinda old school treasure hunt way, but the rest.....

Relic will die either way you look at it. Either SE will end it, or gear creep will, eventually no new player is gonna look at relic as BiS, so players won't do them anymore.

All I'm going to say it this: If they wind up just throwing away the weapon I worked so hard to get to its peak optimization, I want my ~10 million gil back, dammit.
I never would have started the questline in the first place if I had even thought that this would be the outcome, and I'll never start on another one, if all I'm going to be doing is just wasting time and gil. -

It doesn't really matter much to me what they do with it. I'll eventually have my Spharai Nexus (and whatever after that) and at 3.0 I'll upgrade to...something else, be it a continuation of my relic weapon or a new weapon. More than likely there would be a new weapon in the mix somewhere even if they continue the relic quest, since a perfectly mediocre level 60 weapon that you can get without hassle upon leveling to 60 will likely be much better than the fully upgraded zodiac weapon anyway. So you'd be using that for a time before you could do whatever insane grind to get your relic up to the new standard.
