Yoshi P to Mr.Happy "Heal DPS is not mandatory and no expectation for Healer to DPS!"

I like when my healers help where they can, if they can, but Ive never demanded it of them nor will I demand it of them even in 4.0.
I dont pay their sub or choose their playstyle. I personally do DPS, because I'd be bored otherwise, but if folks start demanding it of me, or telling me how to play, you can be sure I'll start letting them die.
It's nice to have it, but I can live without it. It's their call.

Truer words have never been spoken, if we actually stuck to what the devs wanted all the time this game would be kinda boring. I couldnt imagine doing three add pulls in shom al hard Id fall asleep.

This topic for me is a list of different factors that must be taken into consideration.. not all tanks are good in their job, some can be really independent, and expect no healing (just regen skills) from you from the start... Others just don't know their CD's an OGDs and if you are not paying them your whole attention they die... And obviously it is your fault cause your primary function is to HEAL PEOPLE!

We should understand Yoshi P's position in where they made a game in which you want to allow casuals, amateurs and hardcore people in the same bubble! They can't force people to do what you "think" is their function. Cause it's not ethical at all... We should be a little more empathetic in that regard.

Eventually ppl that want to do hard end-game content will learn mechs and timing in where they can or can't dps. Just calm down your screams and stop fighting for stupid common shit like this...

well the majority of the player base plays the game casually and isn't interested in maximizing damage. So yeah, making it through content and playing occasional is good enough for them, and a lot of players. No one died, hurray! I think some of you guys are taking it way to seriously. I mean, enjoy the game however you like, but dont bring down other players for playing how they like.

If you don't like randoms in DF, form your own party.

I'm just happy for a free pass to play like an idiot now! Suboptimal play here we go, tanks no cds, Timmy the Icemage is back in business aswell. It's going to be great dude!

I don't think you even have to voice it. You can say nothing and start the vote kick and if one other person agrees, they will get kicked and it would still remain a valid use. You don't have to state your reason in chat. Honestly, it is probably better to remain silent in chat when doing this.

Better hope that the fourth person in the party doesn't agree with the kick. I'm pretty sure you only need two people to agree (the initiator included) to the kick in a dungeon.

So a healer is expected to not only heal the DPS who stand in crap they shouldn't be standing in, but also to deal damage in order to make up for the lack of DPS those people are essentially not producing? I'm sorry but what I'm reading is that Yoshi. P has essentially said that the encounters are intended for healers to strictly heal and not deal damage, so basically what I take from this is, the only reason healers would need to deal damage is if DPS is slacking (or dead due to standing in too much crap). Let me put it to you this way, if DPS players were even capable of healing in a small way, would they be expected to heal others as well as deal damage? I highly doubt it.

TLDR; Sign up as a healer, you heal. Deal damage if you want and feel comfortable but I for one would not expect you to.

By your logic I'm a DPS player because I happen to have all but two of the DPS jobs leveled. Which would be wrong, of course. I'm a healer, who subs tank. DPS jobs are only leveled for the content completion (dem 60s doe) and so that I can run as one of them in casual content when I get the urge to do some actual deeps (something that healing jobs can't do).

Same applies to the people in this thread.

Just because you have healer jobs leveled, that doesn't make you a healer. Anyone who advocates healer dps being mandatory is no healer, period. You might mostly play on healer jobs, but you're a DPS player because you can't think of anything other than min/maxing DPS and shoving your demands on others.

I hate this point in any argument, even if no one else pays your sub your actions still impact other people and when in a GROUP BASED activity putting yourself before the group is selfish, Everyone pays the same amount of money why would your SUB invalidate the 3/7 other people in the groups prefered strategy to complete the objective, if EVERYONE you are partied with wants to use a strategy that involves healer DPS you should do it or leave the party and find a party that agrees with your playstyle.
