George Lucas is a prime example of why the creator doesn't always know best.
actually this post was not about parsers, it was more about lack of info , I could careless if its in parse format or not but to have 0 clue on what ones dps is , is a total disservice to the game. And I asked if you are going to leave half your playerbase blind then I think that stuff like healer lb, tank lb etc should be more useful instead , because of the short enrages they are essentially useless for the most part. Fine if the want to leave us blinde then thats cool eventfully Ill just go back to pc, but to show us nothing when we have recovered back into a fight and still enrage is messed up to me.
And I also asked for a bosses actual health which nobody here has even commented on would this be an issue with you because even without a parse if we know what a bosses total health is we could just simply divide what damage should be dealt out among the group. I already know the dev doesnt want a parse , hence why I wasnt askin for one , but the game contradicts itself by showing dps in pvp but not pve at least at the end of each encounter. Also the problem wit this mmo is simply that we have pc users and ps4 users one group has far better tools to gauge themselves on , other games a parse is a non issue because everyoens playin on pc on this one its different and I just think we need more in game tools to tel everyone how they are actually doing.
Threads dead now guys. The "But Yoshi P says!" Argument came out which is always a last straw effort to nuke the threads value. We know his view on parsers, we also know Yoshi P has a disconnected sense of reality on multiple fronts of the game and the community. this thread is also entirely about the argument of why parsers aren't officially a part of the game and not about Yoshi P wanting to have his cake and eat it too by trying to make parsers both legit and non legit to make everyone (yet very few) happy.
Now instead of pulling the director card- follow the threads question and explore why dps checks are a thing yet having no tools of measurement within an actual fight.
I hardly consider it a stretch to say many of the hardcore or world first players know the jobs better than a good portion of the devs. In fact, that isn't uncommon for any game because the development team isn't playing the game regularly nor at a hyper advanced level; players are. Adding credence to that belief, Ninja was adjusted after its release when people began using Huton before pulls. The dev team never imagined we would do pre-pull settings. It's why they locked Infuriate on Warrior. Likewise, the devs insisted Paladin would never block magic despite the community's vocal opposition. It's blocking magic now. A primary reason games like WoW have test servers is due to the fact they know a certain group of players micromanage each job far better than they will ever have the time or desire to.
This discussion will never end. Just like the glamour log, housing and any assortment of perceived issues with the game people have. They will continuously be brought up in the hopes one day the devs cave.
No, they don't, the moment they receive a feedback going against what they want to hear they shut their ears, many times problems with classes on wow went live after months of betas, alphas, PTRs.
Stop spreading this myth that they make a better job, becayse they don't, the most unbalanced metagame in FF14 is still MILES away from what is in wow EVEN facturing the extra specs this game is far more balanced than wow
I never said a word about the quality of their testing nor whether they listen. You're putting words in my mouth. I simply cited WoW made test servers because players micromanage better than they do, which is true. What they do with that information is a different argument, and not the one I was making.
To all the people shouting BUT THE DEV TEAM -
You know there have been several instances in which the community has come up with more optimal rotations and playstyles than the dev team, right?
Yoshi P and the dev team are great, but like us players, they are also human and fallible.
